Another 52 percent said they would have preferred someone else as the GOP standard bearer, while the levels of satisfaction are reversed among Democratic voters, 52 percent of which said they are satisfied with Hillary Clinton as their party's nominee in November.
The results break down ideological and educational lines.
Among conservative Republicans, 53 percent said they would have preferred a candidate other than Trump, while 45 percent of that group said they are fine with the Manhattan real-estate mogul as the nominee. Moderate Republicans split at 49 percent each, while 58 percent of Republicans who have a high-school education or less said they are satisfied. Sixty percent with a college degree said they would like someone else.
On the issues, a majority of voters said Trump would be better than Clinton at "changing business as usual in Washington" (53 percent to 23 percent). Trump also led on economic issues (47 percent to 37 percent), "standing up for America" (45 percent to 37 percent), terrorism and homeland security (44 percent to 39 percent), guns (43 percent to 35 percent), "being effective at getting things done" (42 percent to 39 percent) and "being honest and straighforward" (41 percent to 25 percent). Source Woah woah woah you're saying conservatives supported other candidates besides Trump? He attracts more people having only a high-school education than those with college degrees? Straight to the presses boys, nobody knows about the tough primary season and only the plurality he could muster through to when his final challenger suspended operations. Coming up next, is the Pope Catholic and is the sky blue? As a reluctant Trump supporter, I hope the convention gives me reason to hope he'll be more than my third time in a row voting for the lesser of two evils.
Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement that you're hoping the convention convinces you of something not evident in his 1+ year of candidacy.

Watching Trump's speech in the background on economy. You can tell a lot of it is crafted by other people, because parts of it are quite unlike his style, such as citing specific clauses in pieces of legislation/treaties.

That is not surprising at all. He's ostensibly for restructuring trade and American industry to benefit workers . . .

I haven’t seen much evidence I would trust that would support that claim and a lot saying it will do nothing for the sort. But that does sound good if said out loud. So I am willing to bet we will hear a lot of "Making trade deals work for real working people."

All I'm saying is that even if he weren't a moron, "business leaders'" would hate the broad outlines of his trade policy.
edit: i am using moron here to refer not to his general intellectual capacity, which i think is above average, but as a pronouncement on the conclusions he seems to have made throughout his life that structure his weltanschauung.

Bernie is doing a great job showing the kind of leader he would be. He lost, and has no idea what to do. Things didn't go his way, so he continues ranting about problems with the party. He tried to hold out on an endorsement. He waited a really long time and the world moved on without him. So he finally admits he'll vote for Clinton. Then he says "But I'm not giving up!". So people are left confused, and he seems to have no plan. This is exactly the type of person I took Bernie for and is exactly why I voted for Clinton. He's a protester, not a leader.

unlike with brexit, we were fortunate the dog didnt catch the car
like i said if he'd endorsed earlier he would have gotten credit for clinton opening up a double digit lead over trump (and consistent though smaller leads across battleground states). convert that into a prime speaking spot, and then he and warren become the liberal ion and lioness of the senate.
if he had done so GH would have been talking about how bernie generated all this enthusiasm and unified the party rather than saying "clinton is statistically tied in colorado she's such an awful candidate".

This is all I have to say about Sanders and his 'integrity' for standing up to corruption. I don't consider Elizabeth Warren any better either.

Ron Paul is very sad that his pet bill to beat up the Fed got toned down to a reasonable level, since the Fed is already under the control of the government. Seriously, members of his own party were saying that bill was some populist pandering.

The Fed is supposed to be an independent body so that is a really terrible example.

How soon we forget TARP. Of course, though, that was a "necessary evil", right. Plus, the fact that if the Fed is under the control of the Government, then we should of course have public knowledge of where our money went and to whom and for what terms. Trillions of dollars are still unaccounted for a lot of it intertwined with IMF and overseas entities as well. The Dems can't go after the Fed though since the Fed is the primary financier of their spending programs (and the GOP's war machinations).

TARP was paid back in full with interest.

Imagine you and your friend went bankrupt. Your friend got bailed out by the community and you didn't. You lost everything and he paid back his loan with interest. And now whenever you say hey he got bailed out and that was unfair the community says, "but he paid back the loan with interest." Now imagine your friend was your landlord and paid back the loan with the money you paid him for rent after you lost your house.

A second great depression is something I would not be fine with.

stupid evil republicans. I hate hate hate it when politicians add scummy and irrelevant provisions to poison otherwise good bills. and then have the audacity to blame the other side when they full well knew they were adding nonsense provisions to tank the bill. Cornyn should be barred from ever serving in public office with such horrible behavior and words.

TARP was a necessary evil. the problem doesn't come with it the problem comes with the fact that there were no conditions placed on the banks that got the bailout. They were on their knees with the axe swinging on their heads and we got nothing out of saving them from it.

Wait, what? #1 we know Silent Spring was a lie, and we should bring back DDT, #2 Why is it si evil to ensure a major donor/ally of the opposition doesn't get additional federal funding in a specific health and safety bill. This is 90% of what Dems would want, Obama would sign it if it hit his desk. Who doesn't compromise?
