Sad reality is that a lot of people have so little capability to push against societal pressures like the media. It may be correct to expect people to have some intellectual decency, but it isn't practical.

"Trump’s initial plan has come under criticism from both the right and left for vastly expanding the deficit, with the nonpartisan Tax Foundation estimating it would add $10 trillion to the federal deficit in the next decade"
There will be 10 trillion added to the debt in this decade no matter what. Just look at the chart and extrapolate it. It will most likely be more then 10 trillion I would guess, more like 15. Obamas administration added 2 trillion in debt in 2010 alone.

HuffPo's news section is admittedly not bad, but it's a tiny piece of the site now that they've got a ton of unpaid writers churning out crap with minimal editorial oversight

So let's just presume for a second that general election polling matters right now. Are we really to believe that all of these new polls coming out over the past couple of days showing Trump running neck and neck with Hillary reflects a dramatic reversal of public sentiment from when polls were showing Hillary leading by around +10 last week?

GOP at a sudden peak in unity, Bernie still trying to burn the place down.

They still follow an ethical code, its not like Buzz Feed is intentionally misinforming. Being accurate about nostalgia is really all it is.

I look at these elections and think to myself: damn, would I like to own ad-space.

Well, local maximum, remains to be seen if global maximum.

Huffington is pretty bad. Absolutely terrible tbh. Despite this, all of the organizations sometimes report on a good piece in a reasonable way. Both conservative and liberal outlets do this, even probably the worst ones can actually bring fresh news or a piece that's great here and there. I have no problem linking to either when it's an unbiased piece. i.e. the links on immigration problems I got from NYT / Huffpo.
Should generally get your news from many sources if you have the time. It's important to listen to both sides of the issues and hear what the other side is ignoring.
From the Economist - their readers think they're the shit so they love to correct / call out their own articles on almost every article posted. At least they are informed enough to always argue and call out their own shit 24/7. NYT - pretend they hate being pandered to but totally love it so they can virtue signal if it's on the right issue. They love saying, "YES! It's about time!" to any social issue CNN - Clinton News Network Breitbart - Here's all the problems the immigrants are causing in different parts of the world. Muslim Ghettos, Black Crime, Illegal Alien crime rate etc. Also George Soros is an evil man for wanting to open all nations borders. Their readers are very up to date too though and will constantly argue. I just wish I didn't see the spelling mistake, "lose" as "loose" so often in their comments section. Drudge - It's one ugly looking site. Salon - Our heads are so far up our own ass we're completely out of touch with reality. Also, fuck white people, right? Forbes - BTW you're really, really poor. We'll write some good pieces here and there. But you'll always remember how fucking poor you are. Fox - Here's our current conservative narrative we're pushing. CBC - News but with constant liberal censorship BBC - Better than CBC but still omits & doesn't give as much time to conservative stories Facebook news feed - Left leaning and curated by editors to be even more left. Youtube - Mostly liberal. And when it is liberal, it's pandering and virtue signalling that is unbearable almost always. There's decent ones like The Rubin Report though who calls himself a liberal. I actually like his interviews a lot because he lets guests go on as long as they want and really flesh out their ideas or thoughts on an issue but will still bring them back to a point they may or may not have tried to get away from but did get away from.
Point is you should bounce around all of them and not write off a piece just because it's from X or Y, but use your own judgment after experiencing all of them on what is most likely to be true and what isn't. It took me a while to know that the left's favourite lie is the lie of omission. If we're not reporting on it, is it really even happening? You don't know! Because we're not reporting on it! But here's some dumb conservatives! hahahahahahaha!

Noah and Wilmore really race bait too much and play identity politics to the extreme. Both are far worse than Stewart/Colbert and their ratings reflect that. Neither are great at having their own show. I stopped giving Noah a chance when the writing team simply was not nearly as clever or incisive as Jon Stewart's. Maybe it's the same guys, but if Jon Stewart is the quality control that makes everything that much better, then it's a major difference. Oliver's show can be decent and he often brings up good points about seldom talked about issues, but when he panders he does so obnoxiously and smugly so a lot of conservatives who would watch him may tune out a lot of the time. I don't know, I wanted Noah to succeed and he's not all bad but the writing drop off was too real. Hope it gets cancelled now as it's a disgrace.

God I really want the convention to be like some sorta shit out of a vegas show. Women walking around in peacock feathers giving $100 champagne to guests. Some modern rapper or whatever performs as a closing ceremony.
