Yeah, I was just about to make a post about devising a drinking game for whenever Clinton uses identity politics.

The "ran against him line" was dumb. Come on, she ran against him for president when he was a senator, not when he was an incumbent. Sanders has improved somewhat on foreign policy which is good. Apart from that, I remain unimpressed with his platform. I think in a couple debates where the candidates really grow into their own it's going to be really great debating.

On the other hand, I thought Bernie shined from about 20 minutes in till the end. Really think it was by FAR his best debate, and made me even more excited for his candidacy. I know i'm biased, but I recognized that his early performances weren't great... this was.

Good reason they haven't polled there either. Basically, Hillary's claims in Nevada was mostly bluster. It's generational like the rest of her support. It's going to be close which is not what Hillary needs.

Downplaying expectations is classic politics when you're ahead. It's quite clear what Clinton's campaign is trying to do

GH was commenting on "Nevada is gonna be close so Hillary is downplaying it". Maybe I assumed wrongly what he meant, if so my bad.

I wish you the best of cakedays, but as a bit of good natured ribbing I will say it's too bad you're only 20 because you won't be able to (legally) drink to Hillary's victory. ![]()

That's the kind of maths people should learn. A calculator can solve the problem, teach the kids to understand the problem.

It makes much more sense to teach people how to break up and manipulate numbers so that any numbers, be them decimals, fractions, negatives etc work just as easily as >0 <100 integers. Times tables are a memory exercise and a useful tool but extremely limited in scope. Being able to recite that 12x12 is 144 is all well and good but being able to instantly break 13x13 into 13x10 + 10x3 + 3x3 is way more useful. That's the kind of maths people should learn. A calculator can solve the problem, teach the kids to understand the problem. this is how chinese people learn maths. it was my secret weapon and was better than a calculator.
