I don't like how Roberts says the court's stolen this issue from the people (assuming that's not misrepresented in this article)
I was pretty sure public opinion for this was a majority, not a vast majority but a majority and even then I don't know how it's relevant if the five who ruled in favour had to have done so on some legal basis anyways.

I love how "government overreach" or "stolen the issue from the people" always comes up when someone knows exactly that they can't bring a single rational argument forward that would convince anybody.
Fundamental equality rights are not supposed to be up for voting, they're categorical rights. If marriage equality doesn't fall into that category I don't know what does.

Equality isn't a up to popular opinion. One of the primary jobs of both Congress and the Court is to holy the tyranny of the majority in check and protect minorities from it.
