Waddafuq. Is that real? It looks like a satire to me. But a quick google makes me uncertain whether it is true or not. It just seems completely out of this world. How can anyone even think about getting hair extensions or whatever if you need a loan to do so?
The mere thought of this existing is so far removed from any reality i know that it seems surreal.
What i find even more weird is that i found a link to an article "Why you should not patronize a weave loan store". I would be a lot more interested in why anyone would WANT to do that. To me, that sounds like an article "Why you shouldn't tie your balls to a pitbull"

I like how at 45 seconds all the credit approval thumbs up were white arms lol.

Pretty much all employment contracts and rental contracts I've dealt with in the USA have pressed the borders of unconscionability, in my opinion. For example, Jimmy John's has in its employment contract for it's low wage unskilled labor a non-compete agreement that bars ex-workers from working at "any business that derives 10 percent or more of its revenue from the sale of sandwiches, and that resides within 3 miles of a Jimmy John's location" for a duration of 2 years. There's a serious discrepancy in power between individuals and corporations (employers, apartment owners, etc.) and this is one of the ways it manifests.

Google "beautiful woman" or "beautiful hair" and look at the plethora of black women with natural hair (non-weave/extensions/wigs/other stuff you would find at the store).
I don't even want to go into the racial aspect of this and beauty standards, but just know that's part of why it doesn't make sense.

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska abolished the death penalty on Wednesday in a landmark veto-override vote backed by an unusual coalition of conservatives who oppose capital punishment.
Senators in the one-house Legislature voted 30-19 to override Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican who supports the death penalty. The vote makes Nebraska the first traditionally conservative state to eliminate the punishment since North Dakota in 1973.
Nebraska joins 18 other states and the District of Columbia in banning the ultimate punishment.
Some senators said they philosophically support the death penalty, but are convinced the state will never carry out another execution because of legal obstacles. Nebraska hasn't executed an inmate since a 1997 electrocution, and the state has never done so with its current lethal injection protocol.
Nebraska lost its ability to execute inmates in December 2013, when one of the three lethal injection drugs required by state law expired.
Ricketts announced this month that the state has purchased two of the drugs that the state now lacks, but opponents have said they still aren't convinced Nebraska will be able to resume executions. On Tuesday, Republican Attorney General Doug Peterson implored lawmakers to give state officials more time to prepare.
The repeal bill was introduced by independent Sen. Ernie Chambers, who has fought for nearly four decades to repeal the death penalty.
Nebraska's action to repeal the death penalty is unusual because of its traditionally conservative leanings. Maryland was the last state to end capital punishment, in 2013. Three other moderate-to-liberal states have done so in recent years: New Mexico in 2009, Illinois in 2011 and Connecticut in 2012.
Nebraska's officially nonpartisan Legislature is comprised of 35 registered Republicans, 13 Democrats and an independent. A Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman said Wednesday that the agency was investigating death threats left on the answering machine of a state senator who supports the repeal.
The last time lawmakers passed a death penalty repeal bill was in 1979, but senators at the time didn't have enough votes to override a gubernatorial veto.
Nebraska now has 10 men on death row, after one died on Sunday of natural causes. Michael Ryan spent three decades on death row for the 1985 cult killings of two people, including a 5-year-old boy. During a legislative hearing earlier this year, Chambers testified that Ryan had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

The man who is for small government but wants to ban porn, gay marriage, and secular thinking has thrown his hat into the ring once more.
Republican Rick Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania, announced Wednesday that he is running for president.
"Working families don't need another president tied to big government or big money," he said in Cabot, Pa.. "And today is the day we're going to begin to fight back."
Santorum, who appeals to his party's social conservatives, won the Iowa caucuses in 2012 and, donning his trademark sweater vest, challenged eventual GOP nominee Mitt Romney in several other states.

No I was being sarcastic. He wondered why people would want to go to a shop like that, my point was that when you are bombarded in every aspect of life that the way you look isn't beautiful and many of the non-beautiful features are immutable, then when you have the 'opportunity' to change one of those features (hair) to fit what the world considers 'beautiful' it's pretty easy to get sucked in.
Hence why the line "now you can afford to look beautiful" is effective. Most women don't think they need a weave to be beautiful, but perhaps the googling can enlighten the people here as to why black women might feel they need it to be beautiful.

I don't think people who have never been around black women understand how much pressure there is to achieve a certain look, which results in black women putting inordinate amounts of time and money into things like hair. Weaves are actually really expensive and have to be redone at least every other month. I totally understand why there is a weaveloan store, even though its very existence is an affront.

Former New York Gov. George Pataki is adding his name to the list of Republicans running for their party's 2016 presidential nomination.
The presidential run was confirmed Thursday morning, when a video appeared on YouTube and on Pataki's website, on a page called "Announcement" and under a new headline: Pataki For President.

The irony is when you ask people about wealth distribution and what it should be people on both sides and a majority of people in the middle agree with Bernie. There is even a slight majority that want to do it through taxing the wealthy.

It also appears as more people realize what the distribution actually is they would be more inclined to support redistribution back down instead of more up.

Its not just the US. Almost no one in any country has an accurate idea of what wealth or income inequality is:
Respondents turn out to be wrong about their country's income distribution most of the time. Worldwide, 29 percent of respondents chose the "correct" diagram if we refer to their country's post-tax-and transfer Gini and 24 percent got it right if we use the pre-tax-and-transfer measure. For reference, a purely random choice among the five possible answers would get the answer right 22.5 percent of the time for post-tax-and-transfer incomes and 20 percent of the time for pre-tax-and-transfer incomes.12 In other words, respondents worldwide were able to pick the "right" diagram only slightly more often than they would have done if choosing randomly.

Also that "what they want it to be" graph makes very little sense. I don't think its even possible for that to be a distribution in a country.
