Rain is playing super good at the moment and many rate him as (one of) the best koreans right now. Liquid chose to get all of their players when they weren't that good yet.

Wouldn't know about that, but I know that the goal of Team Liquid is to make a player more successful than they were before they joined.

I'm kind of worried that he won't be as motivated to play, just because progaming that long can really burn through your spirit.

Gets to travel around the world and meet thousands of fans.

But sadly there was plenty wrong with that guess. Gratz to Sea and TL!

Still, looking at NaDa, BoxeR, and kind of July, they just had outbursts of passion, and eventually all just sort of burned out. It's not a fair comparison because they've already had their glory, but still you can't help but wonder if a person can really keep playing for so long without getting a little weary.

It is a fair comparison too, in terms of length of career etc. Then again, if anything can reinvigorate Sea at this point, it is a move like this, and Liquid staff are usually on the ball when it comes to evaluating players overall and they've probably seen something more than a former Proleague legend in him. A few months ago they turned down Genius and said they're not looking to sign another Korean player, so one can only hope they've seen something promising enough to make them change their mind. That said, I wouldn't expect too much either, maybe a solid team league winrate and occasionally qualifying for individual leagues.
