Seriously, this is some of the stupidest things i've seen. I find it hard to believe that in a modern society and all of the codes that businesses have to follow, people can still end up biting on a finger.

I guess the real question I have is...
When did Arby's start serving burgers? I swear the last time I was there 5+ years ago it was just those shitty beef sandwiches.

I think: "HOLY FUCK I CUT OFF MY FINGER I NEED AN AMBULANCE."
Do people really think logic is present when you possibly just destroyed your entire future? Yeah, I agree with this, but I can't believe the other employee didn't toss the burger. He should have realized that it could have gotten blood on it or something... gross.

Wow, I don't even think I recall ever seeing an Arby's while I was living in Canada... Maybe it's just Ontario lol.

Ok I worked at arby's when I was in high school so I have a bit of experience with beef slicers. Unless they have an old ass slicer you have to be a complete IDIOT to cut your finger off or even a piece of it,in a beef slicer. The only reason they have a age limit on it is to make sure that some dumb ass kid doesn't try to be funny and do something stupid like stick their finger in it. If you have been trained with it and know what you are doing. The only why I can see someone completely cutting off a finger would be for them to stick their finger all the way into the slicer into the damn slicer, literally you would need to stick you hand up into the slicer and there is no reason at all to do that. Yes you can cut yourself on the blade while cleaning it if you don't wear the bad ass chain mail gloves they made us wear when handling the slicer parts. But to completely cut the finger off you would as mentioned above stick your hand into the slicer while it is on and there is no reason to do that at all. The beef that you handle isnt even near the blade it drops down below onto a heater.

easiest money ever made for the kid. oh how i wish it was me who found that finger and became a millionaire...

Of course mum was in touch with a lawyer...
God forbid anyone chalk this sort of thing up as a funny story and life experience.

Thought it was Ketchup?
IDK Something seems very off in this story. I've worked in fast food and bled at the food prep station. It wasn't even all the big a cut and there were blood drops everywhere between me and the first aid kit. I would think having a finger sliced off would leave blood everywhere. This burger would be a the meat slicer and the slicer would have blood on it, that would stick out I think. The burger would NOT be completed and wrapped up. It would be sitting there open and unfinished, finger on top. Who wrapped the burger? How did the not see it? Could they not smell/see the blood?
This story has more holes in it then Meg Ryan movie

Hm, this reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

KFC take notes. I guess I can add this as another reason why I don't eat fast food.

This happened at a Wendy's a while ago and it turned out the finger was planted by the accuser.

The first sentence of the article is: "A Michigan teen made a gristly discovery after biting into an Arby’s junior roast beef sandwich." Dunno if they do serve burgers, but it was a roast beef sandwich and not a burger like the OP stated it was that the kid ate.

I have a hard time believing that whole thing is real. I mean, cut your finger can happen, but the part randomly falling into a open and ready to serve sandwich, and the guy ,who serve don't notice either the finger or the massive blood strain just everywhere around. That feels like a lot of unlikely stuff happening at once

Roast beef sandwich. Didn't read article?
OT: Ignoring all the ridiculous puns, clearly some people at least need to be fired. I don't know if the store actually needs to be shut down though, because it's not like it was irresponsible management or anything like that. It's an isolated incident. Probably a total of two part-time, idiotic employees fucked this up- the one who cut off their own finger, and the one who continued the sandwich- and everyone else was just working as normal. Or so it seems. That's some fucking bad luck for the bosses... although I completely sympathize with the kid who got the finger-sandwich and his family. That's pretty fucked up.

Closing this for being completely worthless as a general forum topic. I think we can all agree that eating fingers is undesirable.
