And how about banning the idiot mods who instigate others by calling them pussies and retards. I agree! If TL wants to be proved trustworthy admins and mods, it should happen! EDIT : LOL he is banned for that. WTF mods... wake up please! dear please.

Pros lose their cool and say homophobic/racial slurs on ladder quite often, and while I know Destiny does more than most of them, you don't see any of them getting in the slightest bit of trouble. Shoot, even Stephano calls people faggots and such on ladder, but instead of being reprimanded by his team he's getting invited to Code S. I also find it funny how Warden is still playing the "innocent victim" when his actions have been far more malicious than Destiny's raging. You're kidding yourself if you think he wanted anything other than Destiny's removal from Quantic, an apology wouldn't have mattered at all.

A select few of us have built our skills to a point where we can do this. The "game" has moved from the comfort of our houses, into stadiums, into the public. We used to be able to do and say whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. However in a professional world, there should be no place for anything other than professionalism. You'd never walk into an office (attorney, doctor, school) and be greeted with any sort of "bad language" or unprofessional gestures. In general you’d be greeted with a hand shake, anything else and we’d give a strange look, wouldn’t we? The gaming hobby is quickly becoming the professional scene that it should be, and we must grow with it. (Hopefully it doesn’t come to the point where we would need to wear a minimum of button down shirts and slacks to MLG.) In order to grow with the scene, the attitudes, vocabulary and posture that we all have towards each other in and out of the gaming world should grow in a professional way. To help esports grow we must also grow. If we do not, eventually esports will crumble. The reason that esports is in existence is largely due to people outside esports (sponsors). They invest in esports for one reason, to make money. However they will not be associated with “children” who cannot control themselves. We must learn to control ourselves. We must grow. Otherwise the professional scene that we seek will never be. REFLEX_500 (Note: Obviously if you're a casual gamer after your work day, I do realize that you're probably going to rage and BM [blow off steam]. It makes perfect sense) Exactly man, it's for the better of "esports" We need professionalism not immaturity. It's hard though when majority of gamers are young.

![]() ![]() People like to talk about how great the SC2 community is, but the lynch mob proves them at our community is still as immature and prone to crap like any other.

Is it the communities quick sponsor emails or is it the sponsors responding and pressuring quantic leading destiny to split? The former is a bit understandable (anger or whatever), the latter is common sense. Razer is a big business Razer doesn't wants its image associated with racism/sexism/etc. in any form since it would very likely hurt the bottom line Destiny reaches thousands upon thousands of Razer's prime target audience, and whose actions (due to being part of quantic) risk reflecting on Razor Razor pressures Quantic to lock up Soap box your freedom of speech/slippery slope/rage rants all you want, but the group who pulls the purse strings has the power. Its goes beyond eSports and you personal opinons on how other people ought to view certain words in a certain context. Sponsors to not get enough of an ROI to bother distiniguishing such things.

I am quite glad that Destiny finally faced the music. I never did like his attitude and he gave the SC2 community a bad image, with regards to tolerance towards use of racial slurs. Nor was I interested in watching his stream as well, knowing full well that he was practically an unknown to me, despite his early success in SC2's early days. He has not been performing well at all in tournaments and he made his living off streaming, not progaming. Thus, I would never consider him a progamer in that sense so his featured streamer slot should have been better off with another more promising candidate. His concept of free speech and the context in which he believed in using swear and racist words freely without retaliation was ridiculous at best. There is ALWAYS a limit to what you can say, no matter whether you are a shock jock or such, and calling a Korean a 'gook' when you knew what his nationality was from his username is, at best, discriminatory. So sorry, Destiny, but it was all your fault and I hope you learn from all this. But Quantic is better off without you, especially with Naniwa on their team. ^^

REFLEX_500 (Note: Obviously if you're a casual gamer after your work day, I do realize that you're probably going to rage and BM [blow off steam]. It makes perfect sense) There's very little in the way of bad manner and a total (from what I understand) absence of any racism at live events (Unless someone can give me a notable example), and that's the most professional level in the context you're talking about. People will say what they want from behind a keyboard when they are in the comfort of their own home or in a position where the consequences are nil or negligible. I wish to a certain extent what you're proposing so to speak was the norm, but at the end of the day human nature is what it is. People are going to rage, and be nasty because they have the will to do so and the medium to express it. Which sadly is kind of the greatest and most toxic thing about the community, case in point; Reddit. This shouldn't be taken as a condemnation nor advocation of what Destiny did or didn't do. I don't mind the guy and I won't not watch him because of this. EDIT: Spoiler'd quoted post.

Don't get me wrong i don't support destiny's action and if somebody uses offensive language in a ladder game with me i report him. But the way a big part of this community handled this (emailing sponsors) is dissapointing. I agree. It can potentially fuck over the whole team and the other innocent players on the team, when a direct contact to the team management/owners would result in the same consequence without the need of sponsors getting involved. I'm not saying people shouldn't be offended by the use of racist remarks by an individual who represents something more than just himself. I'm saying, focus the arguments in a way that picks out the weed, not the whole garden, i.e. directly contact the management/owner and NOT the sponsors.

It's the first time I see that happen and it's great. But it's exactly why you should have some community control. A banned user can't interact anymore (even in private) and you can't count on other users to "save" you. Please at least consider it.
