He is a gamer/entertainer first and foremost. He offers a different version of entertainment to other types of fans, further more, chances are Destiny is less racist than 99%+ of the population out there, I use racial slurs all the time in my life, I call my black friends niggers, so they joke about race back at me. Never is this offensive to either party, because we've both come to terms that racism is retarded. I myself am Russian, so while I lived in America racism confused me a lot, I didn't understand this nonsense about black people hating black people and Mexicans hating Mexicans because they are in different forms of faction, but still of the same blood and country. Being a Russian in America, Russians try to work together here in America despite where you come from in Russia. Here is the final part. For Destiny to be the personality that he is and actually not racist in an American society where it is quite normal, yet sugar coated on the outside, he should be given some credit for it. On one hand yeah, it's a little retarded that he does it. Also he has stated that he doesn't care about his fans that are sheeple he tries to reach other to the thinkers that are his fans more than not. Read a level deeper, Destiny isn't a moron. So, if a person does feel strongly about Destiny's language, they probably also disagree with Quantic's tacit encouragement. As for Destiny, I'd tell him he's idiot, but he's not. One the one hand, there's no reason to use racial slurs. Even if society does arbitrarily discriminate as to what words are acceptable, none of the words being censored are all that useful. If I can't call someone a gook after losing a computer game, what's lost? So, why should Destiny fight for something worthless? Well, it's part of who he is, and why people find him interesting. In fact, defending himself stridently is part of that too. Now, I doubt he's some conniving PT Barnum, but on some level I'd wager he recognizes "Destiny being Destiny" is a good thing for Destiny. | ||
