Of course no one is bitching about that.. but if it was Destiny's music then you know that a thread would pop up instantly. It's ridiculous at the amount of people who jump on the bandwagon of "Lets get Destiny off the featured list!!"

I've had my share of warnings and temp bans for voicing ugly opinions, but to me they're still my opinions and I don't always have to be polite and eloquent if I want my point made, regardless of how people take it. I don't really care if he talks smack or not, everyone does it to a certain degree. On TL you get banned/warned when ONE of the quadrillion mods of TL has a personal problem with anything you say or think. If there are 50 mods then who think that you should not be banned, you will not get unbanned. I am not 100% sure how the featured stream judging works on TL, but I think that every TL mod do not have a button to unfeature a streamer because they disagree with an opinion.

People say it's alright BECAUSE it's Destiny saying it.

Gook-eye, Gooky, Gook a derogatory term for Asians, used especially for enemy soldiers.[77] Its use as an ethnic slur has been traced to U.S. Marines serving in the Philippines in the early 20th century.[77][78] The earliest recorded example is dated 1920.[79] It gained widespread notice as a result of the Korean and Vietnam wars I can't say I've ever met an any Japanese or Chinese people who have been offended by the term. But then there are terms for those aswell. + Show Spoiler + Ie.. Nip -- from Nippon, and Chink.. well.. I don't think that needs explained So I think it's mostly a Korean / Vietnamese thing. Certainly not all Asians however. So it basically the equivalent of the term "Kraut" for the Germans (the slur (?) that was used for germans/german soldiers in WW2) because our national dish contains "Sauerkraut". Honestly though, nobody gets offended by the term "Kraut" and it's used in pop-culture which apparently makes it ok to use. As I'm not the intended party to take offense at the term "Gook" I can't really judge it but based on the descriptions I find it to be rather tame and a silly thing to take offence to. (not that I think the whole charade with Orb was justified) edit: my 'f' key is malfunctioning

As far as this argument goes, there is no right or wrong side to it and you will not convince someone to change their stance on the issue, if anything it will make their stance stronger. This thread should have been close a long time ago, nothing good can possibly come of it.

Koreans might.. but there is more than just Koreans in Asia. Gook comes from Hanguk which is the Korean language word for Korea. This is close but a little wrong. We call America "Me Gook" (the actual name for the U.S. in the Korean language) During the Korean War, the soldiers heard of this and thought Koreans were saying "I'm a Gook" (Me Gook), so they began to use this as an insult with the war going on and all. Yes, most fobs won't know this is an insult. It's an Asian American thing. For anything that's worth, I'm Korean and personally don't really care. I was watching the damn stream when he did this and I didn't really react in any way, positively or negatively.

You are, as they say, "moving the goal posts" or even attempting to mock a point I did not make. I pointed at a certain case where certain words furthered racism. I am not making the argument that racial slurs were the sole cause of concentration camps.

I am not trying to prove that. Your post was advocating free speech, and this entire thread is basically all about that; both Destiny and the community all have the right to express themselves. The community (or whoever is voicing displeasure) is arguing they are displeased and disrespected by his language. They don't have to prove anything, because that is a fact. They feel that way. He shouldn't be punished legally because it is not a law, but he can be punished in other ways such as contacting sponsors or social ostracization. Along with the right to speak comes the right to be criticized. You're right, he can be punished. just like i can punish a man who i believe has done wrong. so if i believe a man has done wrong i can punish him? well why do we even bother with a legal system. i'm going to get a gun 'cos i feel like punishing some of the wrong do-ers here. And while i'm at it i'm going to punish a lot of other people too. You cannot punish someone because you feel that they should be punished is it justice these (you) people are after? or vengeance?

It will not stop Destiny from streaming(the majority of his revenue doesn't come from Razor), it will not stop Destiny from using such language, it will not change anything except possibly lower the amount of funding they put into SC2. This thread should have been close a long time ago, nothing good can possibly come of it. I want contacting the sponsors to do something bad. I am tired of this community and even the teams defending Destiny's behavior. He has shown time and again that he will say and do anything for attention and his team has never done anything to stop him.

Now I understand that one may get frustrated if he/she loses in a game (I've been there myself). I also understand that it is his stream and he may say that he can do whatever the hell he wants in his stream. However, he stands now as a "community figure" who has the reach to influence thousands of viewers daily and can skew the public's view of sc2 community in an extremely negative direction. Isn't it reasonable to expect a level of professionalism from a player that plays on a professional team? I just don't think spurting out racial slurs left and right in front of a large audience is why Quantic sponsors Destiny to market their team. As a note, I don't think QuanticDestiny is a true racist. However, I do believe that ignorance towards his excessive use of racial slurs would eventually lead to tolerance within the community and that would be a very dangerous outcome. I think the real issue here is what started this. You. Specifically, you being terrible started this. I want destiny to make a topic calling out the issue of cheesing players and how being garbage is a tolerated thing in this community. Imagine, for a second, if you didn't cheese destiny. All of a sudden, there's no racial slur being thrown around! All of a sudden you can't make this awful topic! Why is this? Because cheesing is a form of insult to most players. Even if you win, knowing that you could potentially lose to some awful player doing a skill less build is angering to most of the people who play this game. Bad players winning games by doing skill less strategies is the biggest problem this game has and is the cause for so many people hating this game. I dream of a world where I don't have to deal with skill less players doing skill less builds while still having a decent chance at beating me. I dream of a world where cheesers don't act surprised or offended when someone bms them for being complete garbage. I dream of a lactose intolerant world. P.S. I particularly enjoyed that screenshot. 1 base @ 15 minutes, proxy 2 port (you're known for it), the interrupting KOREAN gg despite you being an english speaker, and destiny not being korean.... not to mention while he's clearly about to bm you for being on one base for 15 minutes. It's like you WANTED this to happen, just so you could post this god awful thread. You should be banned from this forum for being such a faggot. User was temp banned for this post.
