If you watch any BW you will know why.. hes second to none when it comes to mind games and reading the opponent.. which is a huge thing in sc2. back that up with great macro and you have yourself a badass player.
I should save this quote this for when he is drastically proven wrong

All the talk about what will happen when the BW pro's switch, we are actually going to find out now. Does seem weird. I was prepared to wait a few more years even though i really wanted it to happen. But in a few months shit is gonna go down :D

Also, Flash's "relatively low" APM is around 300-- remember what the APM of DRG vs MKP (arguably 2 of the fastest, best and most exciting players to watch) was?
+ Show Spoiler +MKP was mid 200's, DRG was low 300's.
Yup.

Yup. There's not as much to do in SC2 as there is in BW. Also, the APM numbers displayed in SC2 are lower than what they actually are because Blizzard minutes are faster than normal minutes. 300 APM in-game corresponds to 420 APM in real life (and in BW).

EPM is real apm. And there are tons of things to do in sc2 obviously, not as much as in bw, but i see tons of pros with idle queens idle creep tumors idle drops could have micro'd better etc.

Only playing on Normal speed will you get real APM.

No.. because Blizzard minutes aren't equal to real minutes.

I'm very excited to see BW pros play sc2.
Sc2 has become a lot better the last few months in terms of overall skill level; a boost in this regard will help that positive flow. I say this while realising BW level isn't comparable; BW is so much more refined at this moment. I don't know if it will stay like this or will change, time will tell.
i personally don't think that BW pros will dominate the scene from the very start, and i think it would be smart for them to lay low and get a feel for the game before plunching forward into tournaments (especially gsl, or in terms of skill, comparable tournaments), so they can prove their worth after a while.
As for direct impact, i think that the micro in sc2 in a bit underdeveloped, so there would be a catch to improve a lot of current gameplay.
I hope this post doesn't offend anyone. If so, I apologise in advance.

This has buttdevastated many hardcore Korean BW fans. Many delicious tears were shed. :D Good to know he's enjoying SC2. Hopefully he'll be up to par with GSL players within a year. He's too good to let go.

You should have seen their reaction when LG decided to sponsor IM instead of BW team, they were confused as fuck.

If you've put thousands and thousands of hours into brood war it's gotta be really nice to learn a new game. Nice to hear BW pros are having fun with sc 2
|
Damn can you imagine Flash coming out of the booth after winning his first foreign LAN, I think I would cream my pants.
|
Eh, Flash's spamming was probably very minimal, so his APM ~ EAPM I think. I played BW at around 120 to 150 APM, and my EAPM was usually only a shade lower than my raw APM. I play SC2 at a comfortable 110 because, as you said, it feels like there's less to do.
The multiplying factor for Blizzard to real time is about 1.3 if I remember correctly.
|
Great news, but I wish people wouldn't expect too much out of Flash. Yes hes amazing, but just imagine the pressure on him to perform in a new game thats constantly evolving and not necessarily as balanced or as figured out as BW was. I don't wanna see him go down due to SC2's volatile nature, I still want to see him reign supreme.
|
To be honest I think he will at first perform like forgg, tearing his way into Code S up & downs, and then he will hit a wall, though unlike forgg he will actually break through that wall in a couple of seasons. Assuming his health and wrists stay in tact and he stays motivated he has all the skill and potential to be one of the greats. Nobody is denying that I think. On the other hand, people saying that he will likely lose to players we have come to know as pretty average GSL players in SC2 are likely right to some extent. Still can't wait. And no I never followed the brood war scene though I watched the recent SKT v KT finals. Poor poor Flash...
