So I just learned vanity sizing is a thing for men in the US.

Bought a new pair of pants, tried a new brand had to use a belt to wear it, going to return them. Turned out my waist was never a 32 even though i buy 32x32 my waist is 35, hips 40, inseam 31. Now i can never trust to buy pants online unless i already own the brand to know what size i am with that brand. Such a headache, surprised there isn't any governing body standardizing sizes.

I would say that "kop" though, gun to my head, is the most ridiculous jargon word I've read in this thread ;D

In British English "cop" has many meanings, mainly either to recieve something unpleasant or to take the blame for a failing or both. My guess though, is that an internet fashion subculture, probably found in 4chan, has co-opted the word of "cop" meaning to steal, which is still active amongst cockney theives and prison criminals, where to "cop an object" is to steal it, often within close proximity of the rightful owner. Presumably, they found the price such a "steal" that along with the rise in popularity of British labels, they have used an old British slang of to steal and used it as their own.

various brands use vanity sizing, it's best to ask for measurements if you're unsure.

? what

the literal meaning of cop means to "acquire" and it's been that way forever. i think it's technically not even slang when used in this manner

Capere/caper (to seize)

Cop (police) came from copper, one who cops (aka one who seizes)

Google...

Experienced this aswell. Got lose 32 waist and tight 34s so you never know what you'll get. However I like belts so a bit too large is ok I guess. I'm pretty sure the problem is not US based but worldwide. Plus most trousers are made in the same sweatshops regardless of brand.

Do you guys bookmark searches on rakuten or anything? Also fromjapan has less results than rakuten despite having rakuten as one of the sites it searches. Do you guys get the same thing?

My ongoing search for the perfect pair of black sidezips (cough MMM cough) continues...

http://www.nomanwalksalone.com/index.php/black-brunello-side-zip-boot-2236.html (wish the zips were silver or black)

http://www.storyetfall.se/310-3100001.html#.VD3UZfldWbP (literally brand new brand, one review here)

Any suggestions?

I've asked NMWA about them and was told to go 1 size down.

also they were 30% off a while ago, and a pair sold for $175 on ebay in my size a month ago.

Any recs for a plain-ish white shirt in the $200 range? Maybe something slightly speckled, or with an unobtrusive pattern.

I only ever check stuff on sale. The code applies for sale items too, so if you're a L/XL a lot of stuff would be a steal
