I think the fit it's fine, thigh wise, zulu_nation8. Did you have the option of taking a lower length one? This one is a bit too long, hence the awkward cuffs (they're a bit prominent indeed).

They have a 35" inseam. I had the option of getting them hemmed but it would've meant I couldn't return or exchange them. The stacking isn't that bad actually.

I'm gonna see if BiG will still exchange, I doubt it since the waist has already stretched. I don't know if the fit is so bad that I wanna go through selling on ebay/forums again. But oh well, buying stuff on the internet is hard, I measured out everything but underestimated how much sizing half an inch for the knees would affect the overall fit.

Hey I have a question for you guys. How exactly do you take care of your clothes? I've heard that washing will fade the clothes over time, so I've been getting my best clothes dry cleaned lately, but I wonder if it isn't necessary, or what exactly ARE the benefits of dry cleaning?

Also, a lot of my shirts are getting that brownish sort of coloring around the collar. Is that from wearing a shirt too much without washing it? Should you wash a shirt after every use?

I just throw them in the wash. Delicates get a mesh laundry bag, nicer stuff doesnt get put in the dryer and is left to air dry. But generally i follow washing instructions

Dry cleaning is for garments (wools and knots in general) that are affected by water and washing machines (because of the intensity and rouughness of the cycle in different ways that are deteimental to the shape/structure/material. dry cleaning shirts is usually unnecessary, but knits and suits should be (unless you pefer to hand wash knits)

Those are sweat stains. Baking soda and toothbrush supposedly works. Caused by sweat and chemicals. I usually wash every 2 wears for button ups. Smell tear lol

use vanish or similar on the collar, works 100% of the time

personally i only dry-clean things that are dry-clean-only, and just wash the rest and line dry (never tumble dry). wash shirts every two wears, three at the most if you're not sweating at all.

unrelated: my package is still in the customs after 13 days. will be ringing them tomorrow but i'm expecting a £60+ customs bill. at least ssense didn't use dhl/fedex so i shouldn't get DPed by them as well as HMRC

so like, is it still possible to get toj anywhere? If not where should I look for leather jackets around the same price range?

I'm returning those jeans to see if I can exchange. Does anyone have experience with iron heart, 3ixteen, rogue territory, momo, sugarcane, or somet?

yeah, you can order them from toj (expect a year long wait, i'm at 44 weeks lmao). you can also try grailed/sf/sufu for the resell market.

in other news, i'm looking for chelsea boots similar to SLP (the $1000 retail would bite my ass too hard) so i'm looking for alternatives.

What exactly is the benefit of line drying? Is it just easier on the fabric? Here in SK I've been forced to line dry my clothes for the past two years, and it's by far been one of the most annoying things to me, since I have to iron the clothes then, and ironing them just NEVER seems to get them as smooth as a simple drier used to.

Here in SK I've been forced to line dry my clothes for the past two years, and it's by far been one of the most annoying things to me, since I have to iron the clothes then, and ironing them just NEVER seems to get them as smooth as a simple drier used to.

The benefit of line drying is twofold:

1) I usually get a lot less creases when I line dry my shirts opposed to the tumble dryer. This also depends btw how you hang them. I always use a coat hanger to put my shirts on and hang it on an actual line I put up between two bookcases with enough space between the shirts (the line gets taken down when the shirts are dry, so you don't think I sacrificed a quarter of my room just to dry my shirts properly ). Don't use a clothes dryer like the one below. It doesn't allow for enough space between your clothes and you have to hang them on it folded thus generating an ugly and hard to get rid of crease. They also, in most cases, aren't high enough to hang your shirts on them from a coat hanger (perhaps from the outermost edges but that's it before the rest of this diabolical device screws you over).

2) Putting your shirts in a tumble dryer causes them to undergo a lot more wear. Because of the workings/movements of the tumble dryer your shirts will loose tiny bits of fabric (as shown by every time you have to clean the dust filter in the tumble dryer) and this really hurts the longevity of your shirts. This especially shows itself on your cuffs and collar giving your shirt a terrible look. Line drying really extends the longevity of your shirts.

If you spend a lot of money for a quality shirt you want it to stay nice for as long as possible so treat it with love/care/respect and it will proof it's quality for years and years to come.

buttero sidezips go for 300-400, but might not be narrow enough for you.

used pair of ccp is also a better choice than slps at the same price

ideally, you want to handwash all of your cotton/synthetic based clothing and then hangdry them away from direct sunlight.

realistically, nobody has enough time to do all that, so the best you can do is just use the cold water handwash option or regular option in your washer and hang them up to dry. you maximize longevity this way and minimize time expenditure so it's a good compromise between the two methods.

hanging clothing makes the textile have a rougher feeling but it should disappear with an hour of wear.

couple things to note:
- with knits, you want to lay them out to dry instead of hanging. you should never be hanging your knits/wool as it deforms the fabric.
- some types of wool can be handwashed cold but you have to be careful about drying - dry it too slow and it can get pretty gross, too fast the fabric will shrink to half its original size with no way to reverse the process
- modal, rayon, silk, most types of wools or wool blends should be drycleaned. like I mentioned before, I recommend not hanging any of these fabrics.
- for casual needs, you can just use an at-home remedy for dry cleaning. you don't really need to take it to a professional unless there are actual stains or if the fabric needs a lot of cleaning
