Started reading the series, after watching season 1 of the tv-series, and I really quite like them. I've always been mostly into fantasy, when it comes to books, but this is the first time I've began to tackle, what I'd consider a quite large series. I have read some Forgotten Realms and Discworld in the past, but nothing thats more of a 2 book "mini series". I really dread the day I'm done with this one, and have to wait for the next, since so far I've just been able to read them back to back.

![]() I thought it was absolutely amazing. What an adventure, what a ride! I was particularly struck by Gaiman's writing style - it was very very refined and well written, so much so that the sentence/paragraph structures tickled my brain. Great book! Currently reading: ![]() This series of books is by an independent author who self-publishes on Amazon. Despite this, he's been really successful on the Kindle best sellers list. I've read through the first of the 5 episodes and it's really great so far. The series is about living in a bunker/vault in a post apocalytic setting. The writer, who is a gamer, was very inspired by the Fallout series. The writing is a tiny bit superfluous, but maybe that's just the influence of having read Gaiman's masterpiece right before reading this book.

books ive read in march most interesting things ive read so far this year: VALIS by Philip K. Dick follow the author in his decent into madness... quasi - autobiographical, very interesting, but might be a turnoff for people not interested in religion since its heavily influenced by gnosticism A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. dick I didnt like the movie adaption despite its awesome visuals back then when i saw it, maybe i would appreciate it more after having read the book, which is really good and very depressing Dune and its sequels by Frank Herbert despite the books being very long and not that well-written the world frank herbert conjures up is so interesting in its weirdness that the story kindof gripped me, im now up to book 5 (Heretics of Dune). as you can probably guess by the titles of the later books it gets more and more about religion (messiah of dune, god emperor of dune, heretics of dune, etc.), and there arent really many characters to relate to since they are all so weird and so far removed from our time... the books, even though playing more than 10000 years in the future aren't really typical sci-fi in any way, more like fantasy after getting into the books i watched the movie which ive only seen once as a kid and now i understand why it was so universally hated, and david lynch didnt even want his name associated with it... its not only a pretty bad movie but it twists the aspects of the story that are most important in the book Breaking Open the Head by Daniel Pinchbeck very good book about psychedelic drugs and shamanism. very worthwile even if you already read a lot on that topic Fight Club by Chuck Pahlaniuk one of my favourite movies and books of all time. the book is slightly different, especially the ending, and its a really cool and fast read, worth it even if youve seen the movie

![]() Have not gotten bored of the series yet.Just sometimes need a scaling-down when I stick to epics too long, not sure how they're gonna scale the epicness through so many books if things are so powerful already. Nikolai Ostrovsky's How the Steel Was Tempered ![]() I am surprised, I had never had such engagement with a book! Its storytelling might be biased but I had never found myself cheering for a character inside a story until now. The characters are very believable mostly because they are based on his own experiences. Great read, hope the story would drag out for a bajillion books like the other series I put above. Also wanted to ask my fellow TLers, what other places do you use for reading recommendations? I came acrossthis giant flowchart (top voted 100 books in a witty flowchart). Also please post more! I love your recommendations guys

![]() I remember reading this one a while back, it was quite nostalgic. There are tons of references to other games, movies, etc. It's sci-fi.

+ Show Spoiler [Saturn's Children by Charles Str…] + This book was indeed very similar to Heinlein's Friday, but still a very enjoyable read. + Show Spoiler [Machine Man by Max Barry] + I haven't read anything by the author before, but was recommended this book. It was a very entertaining book, although the science was a little shallow in places. The main character was fairly relatable considering how out there some of his thoughts were. Next: + Show Spoiler [The WWW Trilogy by Robert J. Sawyer] + Still haven't read this - it's up next.

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() and ![]() Currently reading: + Show Spoiler + ![]() I've been getting back into Christianity after a long break through some troubled years. When you get past society's lies and preconceptions, the understanding is immense. These books help to establish reason for faith in God in a society that believes in faith in bad science.
