It wouldn't have stopped it all because then you still get "gz for winning our team a spot, now f*** off and play on the B team".

the problem is that organizations are picking up teams or teams are signing with organizations. organizations need to start putting together their own teams from the best talent available.

I agree that the rule is counter productive, but you already brought up a good point as to why it isn't that devastating of a rule, since in the Chinese scene it's the same rule, and they still manage to do it. But it obviously is somewhat of a barrier that you only can overcome with a lot of bureaucracy for teams who want to do it.
... I wonder though, if this rule wasnt't in place, how many people would have complained about TSM.a and TSM.b being place 1 and 2 in the NA LCS and especially how people would have perceived the final matchup of the NA regionals. Most likely including a TSM.eu now aswell.

Bad move from ATN imo, M is by far one of the worst organisation around LoL.

I don't think they have to worry about it. As far as I know it's just a sponsorship again, just as with Alternate, so they do their own thing, with their own management, teamhouse etc. and probably just have to worry about how much money Millenium gives them and maybe some other minor obligations.

Yeah I know, it made me lose a question in Persona 3 or 4, when the Millennium question happened.

So seems like NiP will play in Coke League for the next split and not buy the LD spot. From what you read lineup probably unchanged.

Quite happy about that, as everrything else caused even more unnecessary drama. Also Coke League will be interesting to watch and get attention this way, especially if Oce's team qualifies as well.
Only negative thing for me is that we will still have LD org in LCS, but most likely only for 1 split.
