EU LCS needs some hype and excitement this split. Numbers were already way behind NA and after all teams going out in group stages, that probably wont change. But IF Incarnation gets free, I would totaly tune in, to see if he is the real deal. I prob would tune in anyways but come on Rito do it !

Numbers were behind because apparently, NA streams more than EU, it has almost nothing to be with skillz + matchdays in general.

Thank God, now we can listen to whole year about "NA supremacy". :D

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with EU games being boring as fuck too.

There are literally no facts that supports this.
EU and NA games are both about equally fast, have equal amount of kills, have equal champion diversity etc. I think EU is even slightly ahead in all 3 categories. If one broadcasted NA games as EU games by changing player names, these would suddenly be called boring, There is no way you could tell a difference.
It is simply caring or not caring about certain teams and players. And a healthy dose of confirmation bias.

And Wonderful is right, streaming is extremely important. It is how TSM and CLG got popular in the first place. And it is so very understandable. Streaming from first person makes the viewer identify with the streamer. Similar to how we tend to identify with a first-person narrator in a book we read, even if he is not like us at all.

Interesting example was when Impaler streamed for the first time last days. Suddenly he seems to become popular, while noone gave a fuck about him before. You could read things like "I never care about EU LCS, but I will surely folow you guys" "You are my favorite team now" etc.
Pobelter also gained a lot of popularity now through streaming.

Teams that dont force their players to stream their soloQ games are so incredibly stupid. As are those that stream on Azubu, no matter how much money they get for it. This should have already cost Curse a lot of popularity.

It's super hard for "new players" (post s2/s3) that aren't on TSM/CLG to build up audience, especially in EU.
Look at Alliance players, Tabzz/Shook streamed for like 500 viewers for whole split when they were top 1. Their streams weren't even bad, they answer question etc.

Meanwhile Froggen has thousand of viewers streaming with only music, no webcam, no mic LEL

No literal reason, Rekkles won't interact well with Froggen/Wickd + it's not [A] mentality at all.

I'm going with Rekkles staying with Fnatic, there is literally no way he finds better team, especially if Jesiz stays in SK, that's somewhere on level of Rekkles going to CPHW.

For funs.

Wanna see Rekkles going to G2, just because MONEYS AND WASTED TALENT, ARE WE DIGITAL SPORTS NOW.

Aren't Froggen/Rekkles good friends? Also I imagine that getting Rekkles on Alliance is Alex Garfield wet dream.

NA and EU LCS are both boring during regular season and both fun during playoffs. The only difference, for me, is I hate CandyPanda so SK was fun to root against, whereas C9 is fun to root for. All the other teams are mixed bags. You got All who has Froggen (nice) but he has Wickd (worthless) or Rekkles/Peke/Yolostar saddled with worthless Cyanide and Soaz. TSM was like that as well.

To be honest Alliance roster will change 100%. Tabzz being emo on twitter/ask.fm already, most likely doesn't want to play with Nyph/Wickd (there were rumors that he tried force roster changes between splits already). Also his position in team isn't that strong after shitty performance at Worlds and being lazy. Shook/Nyph are decent friends with Wickd, so kicking him would be hard. There is always option of getting koreans.

It's not like Curse and coL games were particularly interesting, not saying about TSM/Dignitas.
People just tend to follow random stereotypes and ignore everything else.

+ It's not like every EU game was hour+ with teams not doing anything at all.

But seriously, you can just swap EU to weekends while NA will be forced to play mid-week and then check.

They did that before, NA still better.

Not likely, Fnatic have him locked up in a contract and they're not going to let him go.

If anything they'll kick whoever he wants (except maybe Peke) just to make him happier about staying.

I didn't even like the na personalities or watch any streams when I first starting out actually watching lcs (and I still don't watch any stream). Loved the m5/fnatic/sk before going into lcs. Tried to get into eu lcs first cuz the timing was actually a lot better for me with my college schedule and I worked on Sat anyway.

I can say without much bias that the games are fucking boring as shit. Like, "fast pace" consists of the top 2-3 teams taking out the trash and the rest just bending over and take it. They don't fucking try anything. Games are staler than 3 year old skittles. It's like sex and the dude is going fast but he's doing 1 position all night long. Except for the occasional breath of freshness from teams like SHC and Lemondogs they all played like old people - like they have something to lose. But they don't because except for 3 teams or so they're all shitters.

Then I tune in to NA and watch kr and lpl vods when i finally had free time and I was like "holy shit they actually fight".

All he's denying is that he is retired, he hasn't said anything about being on DIG or not, afaik.

I've always hated how leaguepedia/gamepedia/esportspedia blur the line between breaking news and record keeping as a wiki. They want to be able to say they're first but then they make the changes to the wiki without citing sources. And then they have to apologize for being wrong, which has happened a few times already.

Lol wat.

Can confirm, used to watch all LCS games until I realised OGN/LPL was on another level. Now I only watch C9 games.

Also I can't take you seriously when you say that teams that don't force players to stream are stupid. How do you explain the KR scene, where they were specifically disallowed from streaming, managing to gain fans for teams/players?

They have the best players and teams in the world and League is hugely popular in Korea. That they are not monetizing this properly and apparently have even less money than NA or CN teams is one big fail.
Of course if you are Faker you dont have to do much for popularity, but if you are a team in the 2nd or even 3rd row you have to work for it.
Was always like that in sc2 as well. Extremely succesful on the competetive side, really bad when it comes to monetization, especially towards the western audience.
Off-season = best season
