If we get a group with SEA team + wildcard team or BR team (which will happen with a likelyhood of over 80% if I am not mistaken), it is almost a free pass for the other 2 teams in that group. Well maybe I am mistaken about SEA. In any case the 2 groups with the wild card / BR / whatever teams will have a nice advantage, just as the 1 group without Korean teams. But oh well you can never make that completely fair. My preferred pools would have been: 1: #1 #2 #3 KR, #1 CN 2: #2 #3 CN, #1EU, #1NA 3: #2 #3 EU, #2 #3 NA 4: #1 #2 SEA, Wildcard, BR etc | ||

It doesn't really matter by the way, are three Korean teams in #1 pool or no, because anyway, there will be 3 groups with Korean teams and one without. So, there is basically no bonus from winning your split (NA/EU/CN), because there is still 75% chance that you're going to face Koreans + it might be combo with Chinese squad from other pool (25% chance for EU/NA/KR). But it's okay, i hope that there will be no real group of death or group of life, so we will see the best teams in playoffs. | ||

Not sure why Riot want to keep making convoluted pool/bracketing/group structures but its probably to keep international competition a sham like its been for the last 2 years. | ||

So group selection is 1 of pool 1, 2 of pool 2, and 1 of pool 3 to make sure that you don't have #1 seeds face each other? This is a good worlds format. | ||
