Riot, you're even more retarded than i was expecting, rofl.
Giving Taiwan bunch of teams, give Singapore other bunch and only then let survivors to come into Korea? Hilarious.

Poor fans, i feel bad for you.

Also, this.

I think it is a good thing that Riot lets have SEA a piece of the pie. Korea should not be so greedy.

Why would you feel bad for Korean fans? Because they can only go to 7 live events?
And next year if worlds is in several different European countries I bet you noone will feel sorry for the country that gets the finals.

I feel hilariously bad not only for Korean fans now but for foreign fans who got trip to Taiwan and their favourite team will play in Singapore and other way around.
Instead of giving whole S4 to Korea and S5 to SEA, welp.

And saying that Korean fans can go for 7 live events, have Code S, have Proleague, OGN, NLB and other stuff is just ridiculous, dude. Noone stole half of Worlds from NA before, Valve don't separate TI to be in Latin America, Caribbean and North America and so on.

I swear, if Worlds were announced in Moscow and then when everyone was ready, Riot would have said that, let's say, Gambit are playing in Paris, i bet my money, rage was going to be sick. It's not like "Riot give us a sick honor to hold World Championship finals, even if whole tournament was in other countries". Just watch reaction for Platini idea that Euro-2020 will be in whole Europe, it's just ridiculous, everyone is against it.

Let's move on though.

On the less serious note, 4.14 will be patch for Worlds considering that Riot suddenly don't change their rulebook for Worlds.

To be fair, when international Riot tournaments have been held in modern era of pro league, the host country hosted ALL the games.

Singapore or Taiwan is too small to get whole worlds, so this is as good as it is going to get for them. If anyone has a reason to complain it is them, because this means they wont get worlds.

Foreign fans that want to watch a specific team should probably wait until they know who plays before booking. And right now they dont even know if their team will be at worlds anyway. We will only know who qualifies on Sep 1st.

What is the problem to get Worlds to any country, rofl.
I don't think, that with Singapore or Chinese Taibei infrastructure, they won't be able to get big place to get Worlds.

It's not like you have to have 100k capacity stadium to host Worlds and in general, Taiwan and Singapore are very attractive for tourists, so i don't see a problem here.

And many fans already have tickets, just because visa process ain't that easy sometimes and you don't wanna pay for flights 3x more than you could pay for it months before.

If they already booked now its because they dont come to see one specific team, because we dont know who will play at worlds yet. Also it is known for some time already that group stage is not in Korea, so I dont think anyone booked flights for that.

God those times are brutal for the NA east coast. Stupid timezones. Oh well, hopefully RIOT has a good spoiler free VOD system in place.

Probably best to avoid League Client when Finals come around as a Rioter explicitly stated that they'd probably spoil the Season 4 Winners on client -- just as a heads up.

Haha sick times for people in SEA, thx based rito.

Also why are there only two groups listed, I thought the format had 4 groups of 4?

Since it's a double round robin, iirc, each round is probably held seperately.

Can spoil the results right now by saying "Korea wins!"

Speaking of which, not sure how hilarious it will be when China realizes their plan of defeating Koreans, by importing B-team koreans, (who're often arguably worse than their CN counterparts) is probably not the best at winning Worlds ...

11 and 12th place gets $15K more than last year, but everything else is the same

It's not two groups, it's 2 groups in Taiwan and 2 in Singapore.
24 games in each.

But time blows, lol.

The schedule feels... idk, messy.

With my absolute lack of faith in Garena I'm prepared to cackle in evil amusement when the inevitable technical/whatever issues arise during group stages and everything goes to hell in a hand-basket.

On the bright side the schedule has less travel than I thought, which is great for the players. (I initially thought everyone would go on a trip together around SEA lol) Honestly would've preferred for them to have everything in one place though.

EDIT: What's done is done, but personally I'm not a fan of the scheduling. It's going to be difficult for fans to even attempt to do those "collect 'em all" signatures on their paraphernalia of choice. And it seems highly inefficient. (different venues, different staff, different accommodations, travel expenses etc. No economy of scale in sight)

I wonder how much money riot is wasting putting up accom and travel for the entire broadcast team and players to go to SG/Taiwan/Korea rather than just one place.
