NaNiwa not invited to Code S - Page 7

While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

Excellent decision by GOM, a fair punishment. Professional standards are the most important thing in any sport.

well done GOM. it shows that people won't stand for bullshit, even if the match was essentially meaningless. nestea, who was also 0-3, still came prepared to play a good game (and possibly scrape a win) for his fans. too bad his foreigner counterpart decided to have a bout of pms and broadcast a hilarious, but pathetic expression of his frustration.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.

Only reasonably thing to do here.

Props to gsl for stepping up, preserving the competitive attitude and catering to the fans that want to see good games.

I've read one swede who doesn't support what Naniwa did. The rest of you rallying behind him because of nationalism is a bad joke. If an australian did this, I'd be ashamed of him, not talking about boycotting a tournament. Get some perspective.

If you've only seen one swede not supporting what naniwa did, you're the one who need to get some perspective

Yep, we where just in the top 5 countries to support MLG.

I don't support it, it was a stupid thing to do but I don't see ANY difference between just proberushing or doing a nexus first in a PvP or whatever. The game was pointless, get some perspective.

This is nonsense. You cant ban a player because you didn't like what he did in games. He showed up for the game as he agreed ( he agreed on tournament format ) but there is no obligation for playing good. What is next, banning 6 pooling zergs?

Very poor decision Gom...

If it is true, then this is a witch hunt going too far.

It was Naniwa's dream to compete in Code S, and he is one of the few foreigners that has the passion to do it. Yes, he made a mistake, and he should be warned. But there was nothing dishonest, nothing fraudulent about his actions. There were much worse crimes in e-sports that went unpunished.

Fans of Naniwa should actually stand up for him now and be vocal about it. I will subscribe to his fanclub right now out of solidarity.

Gotta agree with you, I stand on the korean side of things, Koreans know their starcraft from Broodwar, and they are truly proffessional at what they do, Naniwa disrespected them live and he gets burned, I got no problem with that, he will learn and probably come back, it wasn't that long of a ban.

This is retarded, how is this any different than cannon rushing, a 6 pool, or marine/scv all-in? Just because we don't see this cheese as often doesn't make it any more "dishonorable" from any other form of cheese. It was a completely pointless and needless match anyways.

The difference is that with those cheeses u actully have a chance of winning, with probe rushing u dont (simple math that he will have more workers when your workers arrive.)

I remember Huk on TL attack playing a 2vs 1 game. He was probe worker rushed by 2 people who obviously had more workers than him. At lot more workers. He won.
They weren't progamers, but it's not impossible.

I doubt he'll get his Code S seed back though.

Also I'm a bit annoyed by gom's quote calling Naniwa a "amateur prize money hunter." Did they really have to insult him as well? He's clearly shown to care more about winning than just prizes.

Well, nani didn't leave the best impressions in the GSL.
He also didn't GG against lucky.

Karma hit him, again.

Really GOM.... Great job overreacting and going on a witch hunt instead of giving Naniwa the benefit of the doubt. Could have just let a sour moment blow over but it had to turn into this. Honestly I expected more from GOM.

KeSPA can stay with BW for all I care. And GSL is massively overreacting.

I disagree with what Naniwa did, but banning him from GSL is an overreaction. Giving him a warning and not inviting him to future special events would have sufficed in my opinion.
On the plus side, SEN IS COMING!!!
