Huk moving to EG would be really weird, so it makes me really doubt whether it's true.
A) Huk would be abandoning his Korean team house and presumably going to the EG house which would go against his repeatedly stated dream of winning Code S and as everyone knows his skill level would quickly drop and he'd no longer be the force he is now.
B) While EG could in theory offer him a lucrative salary that salary certainly will be far, far less than the money a guy like Nestea or MC makes by just winning tournaments. Huk certainly can't be short on cash as he's made $33,000 in the last year in tournament winnings alone (before TL salary, streaming money, sponsors etc..) so if he were to move to EG and win less tournaments he wouldn't neccessarily be better off financially. And one big NASL or GSL win would by out do any salary EG could pay him.

i hope this is all a big joke and eg is only signing the esports elephant

Yeah, I am pretty sure we are looking at a new EG Korean team with Huk, White-Ra, Puma, and someone else...this is what it is sounding like...

Huk is their best player, with only Ret to offer any challenge to that claim.
From Huk's perspective its:
Idra or Ret/Sheth
Liquid comes out on top here by having 2 guys that are around Idra's level. Considering recent results, its hard to place these three, but they are all pretty close in skill.
Puma/Demuslim vs TLO/Jinro
This is a landslide for EG. Demuslim is probably better than both of those 2 and Puma is way better.
Tyler/Hero vs Incontrol/Axslav
Win for Liquid because of Hero, but not by that huge of a margin. I love Tyler, but he has shown no signs of wanting to get to a competitive level. It might be that he cant due to personal reasons, and that sucks for all of us, but from a practice perspective, he has little to offer.
The lesser players are fairly negligible. I would say, looking at the comparison above, that whichever team Huk joined would be the stronger team. Add in the hints towards 1 or more additional signings for EG and it starts to become one-sided.
Of course, there are other factors as well. If Huk wanted only to stay in Korea, he would probably be losing his spot at the oGs house, the best environment around for him to improve. However, EG has vaguely talked about establishing a training environment in Korea. Currently, we dont know if this is a 1 bedroom apartment for Puma, or a planned team house. The latter, coupled with a new Korean signing, could drastically lessen the impact of Huk having to leave the oGs house. Also, if Huk wanted to stay serious but perhaps come back to the states for a while, EG would be the obvious choice with their team house.
Lastly, money and loyalty come into play. Liquid is in an interesting state. They have an absolute top-notch connecting with oGs, but have only 2 players out there, 1 who appears to be leaving soon. Ret seems to be gaining form and Sheth/Hero are big signings, but TLO has injury issues, Haypro hasnt gotten anywhere and Tyler is stunted for various reasons. EG, on the other hand, seems to be gaining momentum with the new house and Puma signing. And while I'm sure Huk is a loyal guy, EG seems far more capable of paying a large salary, has bigger and more sponsors, and has shown that they are prepared to spend any money necessary to create a dominant team.
You forget that it's oGs-TL.
PvP: MC - self-explanatory, one of the best players in the world Inca - one of (if not the single) best PvPer in the world
PvT: Nada - the most consistent Korean Terran who was and still is top 8 in korea (in terms of GSL point ranking). Top and sTc - two extremely good Korean terrans
PvZ: you already noted that Liquid wins out here - plus players like Zenio.

I think you've confused huk and idra, huk's results lately show him to be the best foreigner, and while he's honest, I certainly wouldn't say that first about his personality, more that he's nice, happy, joking. I was actually talking about Naniwa being in first, but perhaps with his recent 1st's all over he is the best foreigner. His personality is what I said it is, that is why people like him. He says what he wants and does like to joke around with it, but he means it regardless. The guy I originally quoted wanted to know why he was popular. Naniwa who was probably the best about 2 months ago still was not the most popular, but not because he was lacking skill or chessed for all his wins, but he is a rather boring individual. I was just simply claiming that personality has a much greater affect on popularity than tournament results. Take Incontrol as an example. No 1sts in anything that matters, but most including me like to watch him because he expresses his feelings, and is pretty funny. HuK beat Nani in his win at HSC, and placed higher at the latest MLG. HuK is right now better than Nani, no question. More accomplished =/= better

IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT DAMMNIT.
Rekrul's theory could be a possibility; but I really do severely doubt HuK would leave Liquid. The only incentive I could see them offering is more money and I doubt after all this time at Liquid, all the bonds and friendships formed; and great results he's achieved for himself and Liquid would be disregarded for money. Honestly? As his friends, they'd probably understand. Money is money, and it's not like they would no longer be friends. What the fuck does "money is money" supposed to mean? If you're supported by your team and live comfortably, ditching them for more is greedy and a dick move. Simple as that. If you give a mouse a cookie. I dunno what you mean? What's wrong with wanting more money. Most people are trying to obtain more. HuK, I'm sure, has material desires. You can say friendship outweighs that, but I think the damage to friendship would be pretty minimal. It's not about burning bridges, or being idealistic, or any of that shit. It's about building upon and maintaining an identity within a team, and growing that relationship over many years. For people who hop and hop around like bug-eyed cash dolls, no stop is their last. How then are we the audience and fans supposed to recognize or put stock in the sanctity of what the concept of the team is meant to engender? It just becomes some meaningless tag, implying nothing. EGidra? LiquidHuk? FXOQxc? Who cares? It'll all probably change again in 6 months.
The scene settles when it should. Even in Korea when a contract was up players moved teams for what? More money! Football, Basketball, Baseball, Those who are top dogs in their individual workplace. The issue here is that you can post this now because you don't have the decision yourself, but if you did, you would most likely take the most money as long as it was a big enough increase.
All in all I don't know what the announcement is, but your idealism amuses me enough I want to read all your previous posts

That seems a little insane if it's true. I think people are seriously underestimating how much sitting next to MC has helped HuK, EG included if this is true.
From a fan perspective this is a horrible move. TL stands for what progaming should be. The love of the game. EG just looks like a corporation throwing money at their problem when the heart just isn't there. Just my two cents...

Well EG would definitely be cleaning every piggy bank to afford that.
Keep in mind how much Intel sponsored Boxer for to setup slayers. It would probably be somewhere around 50-60% of that for ONE player. I'm fairly certain you could pick up one of the top korean pro's for that kind of money.

Is 01:00:10:xx around the right time atm? The timer seems to be a bit iffy when it comes to timezones and PC's local time and I'm wondering if it's even showing me the right time... All evidence in the past hints at EG paying its players very well. I doubt they would offer lucrative contracts to an injured TLO, a demotivated Tyler, a medicore Haypro, or a stagnant Jinro. I could definitely see them signing a Ret, although I don't know anything about his personal stance or contract situation.
Huk & Ret with another European and a Korean thrown in? That would be enormous for EG.
