You're giving out 30 dollars in prize money. This leaves 290 dollars. Over 16 tournaments, this gives you 4640 dollars. At the end of the month, you're giving out 350 dollars. There will be $4,290 left over. That's a lot of pizza for that lan event.

@all the haters. This sounds totally legit. I don't know why there's any reason to think he's not going to turn around and and $4,290 on something to benefit the people coming to the lan... I mean... pizza is expensive. I seriously need a sarcasm font.

Apparently he says he's 11 years old, if that's true he probably didn't think the numbers through rather than this being a scam. Or rather, this would be a really elaborate scam. (still could be a scam though)

I'm sorry about that, recently I made one on this account for him. So believe me if you wish!

I also have to pay to everyone who helps out. And I swear I am not trying to scam you guys in anyway, so sign up if you wish. Is it better now? still nets you like 3,000$ with barely anything put into tournament. also if you didn't know it's illegal to make a tournament where you charge people to enter without getting blizzard's permission literally nothing that youve put here looks legit, cant believe this topic is still open

Then, you're taking the "champions" from SIXTEEN tournaments (which had a $100 prize) and having a 32-man championship LAN where they can win $300/$200/$100? 16 Qualifiers / 2 per week = 8 weeks = 2 months time frame 16 Qualifiers x 64 players x $5 admission = $5120 of revenue 16 Qualifiers x $150 Prizes + 1 Lan x $600 Prizes = $3000 of cost $5120-$300 = $2120 of profit over two months, or $1060 per month or basically $35 a day of profit So earning a profit of $35 a day, running two ONLINE tournaments a week (and you didn't link to a website/etc, so you could just as easily have challonge run it for you for free) and eventually running a single weekend LAN (32 man tournament can easily be decided in a single day). A single person, with maybe one other, should be able to easily manage an online tournament for sixty people. A 32 man LAN tournament can easily be ran by 3-5 people over 8-10 hours. So how are you justifying getting paid the equivalent of a $12,900 salaried a year pro-rated for this?

A tournament of this format cannot be "continued in the future". And as DarkForce said this kid is shady as hell. He should be told by a mod that this isn't legal, and/or opening threads of odd nature.

Its not easy to run a pay-in especially without sponsors and of you being how old? How would you even get a so called LAN location, and or permission from Blizzard as being 11? Permission from who, your parents? Maybe you could age a few years and look back and realize what you have previously said. All the best to you.

Look, dude, until you convince us that you're not doing this to turn a profit, and that the entry fees are going to something worthwhile, no one will join or support your tournament. There are dozens of free tournaments every week, which are either run by volunteers or supported by advertisements or sponsors. It's not the community norm to pay to enter tournaments. For example, MrBitter proposed a series of $1 buy-in tournaments. Idk if they happened or not, but when they were proposed they met with general approval because he is an established and trusted community figure and because all of that money was going into the prize pool. When an unknown person proposes a tournament with a relatively large buy-in and a ridiculously small proportion of that money going to prizes, it just seems like you're trying to make a quick buck, and that's not something we will support.
