Hello guys, recently I, like many other hard working starcraft players here had been put on the NASL page for voting on to see me in the NASL.
For one reason or another, they have deleted my entry on the NASL page, which was currently ranked at number 2.
A lot of my votes were in fact legitimate, as I did just put out a replay pack showing that I in fact can compete and beat the majority of players that will probably be considered for the NASL league.
And I have been trying to get all of the support that I can to be able to get into this "invite only" league that was just announced.
Why was my entry taken down? Will you take down trumps next? Destiny's next if he gets too many votes? What was wrong with my entry there?
If anything, this shows a fundamental problem with trying to start up Western E-sports with a league of players "hand-picked" to be in the league, as it will tend to appear as an all exclusive club for all those already with money backing and disallows others from participation due to politics rather than allowing a person to compete in this new league based off of what matters most at the heart of e-sports - PLAYING THE GAME.
I would like people to re-vote me back up in this new western e-sports "NASL system" that we now are currently under, as I do wish to compete in this and show I can beat the best. I would rather I show that I can compete and win through my gameplay, rather than showing it through politics or "knowing more people" which is never what e-sports should be about.
I am also looking for a legitimate team to join now, and this is a good as time as any to put this here and reach out to any teams right now that are looking for a top 200 player to sponsor and get into the NASL. Please get into contact with me asap.
I am asking anyone here that wants to support me into the NASL to please vote for me, and to support me as much as possible.

Why was he removed? I'm a fan and I approve this message. We want answers.
Not only that, but we wants answers as to why the god-awful team-related rules are in place. Someone has dun goofed and answer need to be presented.
|
Until there is a proper explanation or apology this is an outrage. At any length the deletion should of been explained before hapening. Furthermore, if there was some violation there should of been a warning first.
|
If avilo is removed, the zerg have finally won.
This cannot be allowed be happen

The voting doesn't mean a thing. Have you sent in an application? You say that you are a top 200 player is that just NA or what? This is the top 50 players in the world so if your not there than you will not be invited to it.

You are going about this the wrong way. You don't beg for recognition, you earn it. Forcing yourself upon something without having the achivements to back it up is rarely something that's looked well upon.
Just a small tip of advice. There are plenty of ways out there to show your true skill, this isn't the way to do it. So you might miss the first season, that means you have plenty of time to practice and participate in all the numerous online tournaments/MLG's to prove your worth.
Just my 2 cents, and I wish you luck getting into the NASL regardless

As weird as Avilo often comes across, his point is EXTREMELY valid! I think the real question Xeris should anser is exactly HOW are the top 50 going to be chosen? Theres too much beating around the bush in this regard. Even on SotG a clear answer was not forthcoming. The exact method of choosing the 50 HAS to be a priority press release for the NASL guys imo... GL WP Avilo hope you make it.

Only 5 Koreans are allowed to come. Its the NASL and i'm fine if they just get the best players possible.

I take exception to this statement, because I know ALL your votes were legit! I am livid that this could even happen.
Please explain yourselves, NASL!

hm.. thats really wierd because I saw that avilo was ranked #2 as well

Why would they delete my entry from the front page of the biggest western e-sports tournament? Is it because they do not want me in the tournament, regardless of the massive support that I have gotten?
Do they want storylines? Or do they want the storylines they make. This entire thing could be something great, but the way they are going about it is horrible.
And it's ridiculous that my entry would be deleted. If I get another 13k votes, will my entry be deleted again because they want to decide who is in this tournament?
Who are they fooling? The only reason the voting system is there in the first place is to make the tournament appear like it is not a completely invitatational tournament where they invite who they want to play in it.
It's completely shafting me and who knows how many others that are trying to get all the support they can to make a living playing a game they love.
|
The answer I understood from SOTG was that the poll would be a strong indicator of who'd be invited, but it wasn't the definitive one.
This topic is a bit over-the-top and not really contributory to the community as a whole don't you think?
You may have been deleted for several reasons and none of us can answer that. Only those who are in charge can and publicly asking achieves just as little as asking them in-person, privately, without this masquerade.
My two cents.

Have you ever considered someone was trolling and hack voted for you? Happened with Piqliq the day before. I really don't see you getting 13,000+ votes with your style, which is just so boring to watch.
Even if they were all legit, you cannot get in, because you are not on a team.

Maybe it's a glitch, stop making a fuss and maybe someone will get back to you. I doubt it's a big conspiracy. EDIT: Maybe because you're not on a team? *shrug*

I would try pming either iNc or Xeris to see what the deal is rather than accusing them of anything
|
I would wait until further information is given. It is easy to jump to conclusions with little information. As I see this, this is a tournament meant to get EG, Fnatic, and maybe a few other teams easy access to a big tournament. So far the only information has come from people involved with EG and Fnatic. (Not basing this on anything just showing how easy it is to jump to conclusions)

I am clearly not going about this the wrong way. I rarely do any self-advertising of myself, and I have been one of the top north american underrated players for ages now beating all of these high profile players, many, many, times.
Which is why I released the replay pack showing this, as people do not always get to see how damn good a player is. So I'm playing the politics game on this one because I sir am being the one forced to to be able to make my dream happen of getting into this whole "western e-sports thing."
But it seems someone like me with a great storyline *har har* is actually trying to be barred from playing in a league that should be based off gameplay rather than who I know.
So when something like this comes up, I cannot just sit back anymore and not say anything. I do want support and hope that people will support me in this.
And people that are trying to defend them deleting my entry, or anyone else's like trump or destiny's - that's an absolute ludicrous argument. They wanted to hear opinions from the masses of who should be recommended to get into this league, why would they try to silence people that do manage to get a lot of support?

Hey, I'm not sure why that happened ... definitely not malicious. Sorry about that, will try to figure it out asap

Reminds me of my local hockey league, everyone new everyone. I just moved in and tryed out for the AA hockey team. (used to play for a AAA team back in montreal), i got 1 shotout and 1 goal scored against me in the tryout. I was cut down to cc and ended up just quiting the league. Now I play for my school and quite honestly after that happened to me I lost all respect for hockey players. The reason i loved e-sports was because it didn't have anything biased about it. The gsl was open to everyone and who ever won advanced. Who lost would have to try again next season. Please don't let it come down to this.
I hope NASL fixes this soon.
avilo fighting!! :D

And seriously, relax. Not sure what happened, but I'm very well aware of how many votes you had (13,000).. I added you back in.
|
Realistically this is probably the tip of the iceberg as far as selection drama. Just wait til they announce who they pick (regardless of who it is)
|
Look at the people at the front page of the voting site and seriously ask yourself if there wasn't something wrong when you out of all people managed to make it to rank 2
|
Geez, no one's ever pleased about anything.
|
Haha, avilo hasn't changed.
I remember back in RA3, he got denied like 5 bucks from a clanwar glitch. His reponse?
YOU GUYS KILLED WESTERN E-SPORTS (I am hardly exaggerating here. He literally accused them of throroughly damaging E-sports in America because of a glitch from an admittedly kinda weird ladder system.).
|
Nah guys. You just don't know. >100 viewers on stream translates to 13k+ votes. Avilo be more known than idra. Also, it would seem that people in NASL for some reason hate you. Not sure why, I mean, you got so many legitimate votes. And, it's better to post here acting like a victim and begging for more votes than PMing those in charge of NASL.
No. Not really. Stop doing this.

The fact you even say something like that makes it sound like you want a league where the same 50 "known players" are playing in it over and over again, with no chances for new faces and other good players to make it in.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with me getting a lot of votes. Why would there be?

Source? Generally it's not really accepted of these claims without proper support since it's fairly rude and blatant of you to say.
I'm inclined to believe you, but it's generally just respectable.

Talk me down all you want, I play this game too. And this blog is about also reaching out to teams looking for a top tier player to add to their roster. If you have a problem with that, then please do not post in my blog trying to talk me down.
And yes, I am msging and trying to figure out why my NASL entry was removed - which is also what this blog is about and more.

Chill out, Xeris replied on page 1.

I think you're supposed to be on a team...
Eligibility: Anyone can apply (including Koreans), as long as they are on a gaming team (not sure if the team has to meet some set level of sponsorship/notoriety) and they commit to go to the July LAN held in California.

If you want teams to notice you, win tournaments and show yourself where it counts. Making a blog for teams to notice you is really the wrong way to go, guaranteed. :3

They really need to stop calling this thing a league. Its more like an invitational minus one spot(what a fucking joke). sigh. Whats funny is that this league was never about making esports big. It was about how one person saw how they could make a shitload of money. Yet its for esports!!! rofl what a joke. ALL the players and this community make up esports. Having a purely invite tourny does not benefit esports as a whole. GSL/KPGA/OSL/MSL all had prelims. Prelims that allowed EVERYONE to try their heart out. This is nothing but selection just so you folks can try and make dough. ;/
I'm disappointed in the direction this so called 'esports' is heading.

Sorry avilo, most of your votes were not real. The real reason you were so high on that list was to support me, the best protoss in the world. They tried to keep me out of that poll but I shit on their faces LOL!!! You can't keep the best gamer in the world out of your poll. However I, AtheneWins, need the 'a' for my name. So put avilo back in his rightful position or I will put him back myself, good luck stopping me. If you do not put him back I'll make an ever bigger mockery of your poll, I think TSL_Uniden at the top spot would be a good first step, don't you?

You need to talk to the organizers before you make big public rants like this. It is not acceptable.
|
I really can't believe it's a coincidence that one of the only prominent players without a team conveniently had his entry removed.
|
you're back in the voting thing with like 6 votes.
By the way it's pretty silly seeing you call yourself a top player everywhere - that's a title you're supposed to earn. Please stop doing that
Good luck in the poll, maybe they'll give you back your 13k votes or something

Despite the fact that i hate how whiny you were about tvz and your general attitude in the early days, i am strongly supporting you in this venture as i truly don't understand what the approach is for the NASL, misinformation and horrible analogies which have already been torn to pieces on this forum are about all we've received so far.
As well as a ridiculous team requirement that is incredibly elitist, and in turn will completely destroy any hope of forcing sc2 into the faces of the regular people of NA. As well as the team limit in an individual league which is just somewhat absurd and so poorly constructed that it's embarrassing how two faced it's making incontrol look after the MLG tirade on SOTG.
A lot of people have been saying well this is great for esports, why are we nitpicking, and we're nitpicking because it's so incredibly poorly constructed, and if it weren't for Xeris working his ass off to settle concerns, this situation would be far more dire, I think that the NASL team should go behind closed doors for a week, write up a rational for every single rule they have, and truly think, does this actually make sense ( also what kind of situation are we in that the rules for a tournament are made up of a grand total of 5 people for something of this scale)
i'm embarassed for what this can mean for the future of NA SC2 if this is the first attempt presented by people who want to push it forwards

There was a post on reddit about how the names, after TLO, spelled out AtheneWins in capital letters, but it's been deleted it seems. It was like avilo trump haypro egidra nrgdde egincontrol
and i forget the names used to spell out "wins" EDIT: looks like he said it himself already
