He didn't shoot everyone deliberately in the head. It seems like he fired somewhat indiscriminately into the crowd before anyone was really able to respond. | ||

Lack of security is probably a major issue we'll hear about soon. But as for the lack of reaction, scratch it up to panic. If the shooter quietly walks up to the congresswoman, take the first shot, then turns to the crowd and begins to spray bullets. Most people instinctively run and duck for cover. They're not going to jump up and try to stop the person with the gun. It's not people idly stand around while a child gets shot. They don't also want to be shot in the process of stopping him. edit: and yeah, it seems he was quickly tackled down after people saw he was out of bullets. | ||

i am sorry i feel the need to make this comment, but there really is no better place to start.. current gun control very definitely contributed to this, a crazy person just cannot easily get guns in a country where owning guns is illegal even criminals dont just hand guns to insane people  extremists sure, but not actually insane people | ||

Walking around at a rally with a protective detail gives the feeling that she's very distant, etc. In retrospect, all political figures, especially those who have received death threats, should always have heightened security. | ||
