After seeing so many threads dedicated to new maps on the Team Liquid forums we thought it was time iCCupTV threw their hat into the ring and tried to help promote some of these awesome new maps. I am happy to announce iCCupTV’s Map Series

The Event
iCCup TV has contacted some of the best map makers out there and is looking to host their creations in a series of show matches featuring top players. Once a week we will take three new maps and have high ITC and ITL level players be the first to spill blood on the shiny new terrain. Each week will have four BO3 series featuring new and exciting maps.
The maps will be rotated during the event so all maps are played. The order they are posted in the thread might not always be the order they are played.
The Map Makers
Supplying us with all the awesome maps are some of the best map makers SC2 has to offer. Be sure to check all their threads for information on some of the best maps the galaxy editor has ever spit out.

The Players
All players will be high level iCCup TV Challenge and iCCup TV League competitors or any other skilled opponents we think are worthy of being some of the first to battle on these maps. Each week will have 4 BO3s and 8 players. Please don't use the thread to ask to play.

Super excited for this, i hate the current mappool and i want to see different maps played. I played zerg in beta but switched to terran because zerg became super stale and annoying (especially ZvT, my worst MU) because the maps all seem like they are T favored.

Great map indeed. I loved playing on it earlier in the week. All the maps are pretty awesome. Whiplash is filling in last minute for Sinatra. Thanks go to him for coming in last minute.

Guys, IMS is a map testing thing which is cast. For that reason, it's invite only. We want players we know are good on standard maps to play and give their input so the mapping team can refine the maps and make them as good as possible.
Also, ICCup TV events will never have replays released, only VODs.

Crop Circles will be edited a bit. That hill that makes scv's take a longer route to a gas gesyer will be edited and rocks will most likely be added to the gold. But I'm still a fan of Crop Circles.
Orbital Divide is also really nice.

Holy shit that game on orbital divide Antimage vs Silver is definitely game of the month for me so far. Damn that was epic.

Orbital Divide seems like a pretty fun map. Two nice matches on it so far. The only downside was + Show Spoiler +watching that Zerg player throw away a game he probably should've won.

Crop Circles is pretty. I like the colors on it lol.

I forgot to announce it, but for everyone, we really do think a lot about the balance suggestions that we receive.
All of these maps, though well made and thought out need tweaks and changes so that over time they will become superb versions. I for one, for all the testing I did always destroyed the rocks going to the gold in Orbital Divide and never thought to test pathing around them... to my suprise you could sneak right past them !!! It was a "lul wtf" moment for me personally.
So, the point is we will be having a pro balance thread put up shortly where the players involved in the matchups express their opinions on the maps they played relative to their race, the race of their opponent, or things in general. Then we will show the map-teams response to these suggetions. It is not to say that all suggestions translate to changes as some im-balances are designed to balance maps, however, it is to show that consideration is indeed going into the balance of these maps.
They are already products of many hours work, but that does not make them immune to imbalances or fail rocks in my case for example.
In this thread you can not only observe changes taking place to the iCCup maps, but leave opinions yourselves.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and to the players who participated. We hit 2000 viewers and were really quite pleased with the games and performances.

To compare, I believe cross positions on Lost Temple are only somethingl ike 25 to 27sec to get from one ramp to the other. Devotion is intended to be quite a bit larger than other maps, as I've seen this size of map work really well before for me (Fighting Spirit).

Hey guys, map series may be delayed to another day later in the week. iCCup is pretty busy with a bunch of stuff and we realized we stretched ourselves a little to thin for today.
Rather than give you guys a sub par event, we want to make sure both the viewers and players enjoy their time watching or playing on iCCup TV's stream. So the event will be at a later date. I'll keep all the spectators updated on what date when I can get that information and I'll be sure to talk with the players specifically on Bnet. Sorry you won't be able to see the awesome maps tonight. But you will definitely see them at a later date!
Edit - OP has VODs of all the previous IMS's. Could keep you happy for a bit (Especially Stalife vs Telecom from Week 2 btw)
