Meanwhile I want to further heat the discussion by posting evidence that the Beta is indeed going to end on July 19th.

Enjoy

Are you demented or something?

If they encountered new and unwanted bugs in opening a realm, they will of course fix this before proceeding, so that the other realms will have more normal start-ups. The whole point of starting up/resetting a realm is simulating launch-day server-side. If they started up everyone at once, the data would be completely useless, as the bugs would compromise the data.

And what about launch-day? Won't they have a gazillion more people trying to do the same thing at the same time?

If they started up everyone at once... yeah.... they'd actually simulate a launch-day.

So, umm, are you demented or something?

Why would they need to launch every server for that? It's not like they're testing how to start up realms as closely together as possible. This isn't about collecting data about human performance, it's about hardware. Basically, it's about monitoring loads and determine scaling, so it's imperative that things happen as closely to the launch-day servers as possible, so they can get the appropriate data.

iS Blizzard helping me get money to buy sports cars by beeing in the beta or what?? How the F* are they catering to me,u stupid?? We are helping them develop a game, fix balance issues and get the best finished product,we get a little free play time from it and a lot of frustration .. THAT'S ALL!

I'll get back to you when you'll read my post.

Some people should seriously consider having a breath of fresh air.

I know it's an awesome game and some had their chance to get their fingers on it before others (US>Rest), but Jesus Christ, leave it there.

Scrudahl - I am not going to give you the definition of beta phases and offline/mainteance.

They are maintaining the game - fixing stuff, so we can have awesome happy times. Plus releasing a betaphase worldwide at the same time or even close to the same time can be difficult - they'll find bugs under the opening of the regions, and they are fixing them as we speak, so we can maybe have fewer bugs than what US are experiencing atm.
It's not deep rocket science. It's actually plain simple.

Go out, take a shot of sunshine.

if they would really simulate the launch-day, they would have announced a date and a time for the start of phase 2, so everyone would have been prepared to log in at more or less the same time, like it will happen at launch day

Edit: For the poll: Im German and i hate web 2.0, obviously

Because, as you said it yourself, they are trying to simulate launch-day and launch day is 27 July WORLDWIDE, which incidentally includes Europe and Asia.

You understand that these are multiple arrays of servers, including clusters having specific tasks; being located and separated according to what realm they serve?

Yeah, but you know - Blizzard. They're not the guys giving minute-to-minute news. It sucks, but have played WoW, I'm just getting used to it.

Both of these.
Though I doubt they know when they're going to get things up and running..
Anyway, if this happened ~year ago I'd be nerd raging :D ...Now that I've had to deal with NCSoft EU for a couple of months I'm much more mellow - better have no info whatsoever than false info all around with statements such as "yeh it'll be up soon" ^^

As im a telepathical mindblob ill go ahead and read Blizzards minds right now

*********reeeeaaaadiiiiiing*********
***********bzzzzzzzz***********'***

Here we go!

Apparently a giant bulletproof radioactive bunny blocks the door to the room with the stairs that lead to the maze wich takes you to a secret passageway to the area were they keep the EU server ON switch....

Currently they try to make the bunny hop away by crushing eastereggs all over the place..

I cant see how they can solve this problem within less than a day...

I.. I am so sad.. i totally understand why Blizzard would want to keep this dissaster a secret..
