Instead of polling the USB port, it just sends the signal immediatly when you press a key so it is very slightly more responsive. Also it allows the keyboard to register more buttons at the same time. This depends on how the keyboard is built though. Some PS/2 board still only do 3-4 keys at a time but with USB that's the most they can register while a well designed PS/2 board can do 100+ keys simultaneously. Where are you getting this information from? I have looked around and did not find any documentation stating that PS/2 allows for faster transfer rate, nor did I find anything supporting your claim of 100+ keys being simultaneously pressed. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080131055520AAxaRxl
"usb.. y coz..it better and latest. ps2 very old fasshion"
Clearly it better ps2 very old fasshion. But seriously, there's no real downside to PS/2.

look up n key rollover for simultaneous inputs. i didn't find any great links about the ps/2 interruption but it's there and it's faster. very marginally so, but it is a better interface and that's why you don't see them being phased out of motherboard designs yet.

why don't YOU lookup the info in simultaneous inputs. Nothing there supports your argument of 100+ simultaneous inputs because it's all in the microcontroller of the keyboard in question, not the connector. As for transfer speed, usb wins hands down. And as for phasing out of motherboards, a lot of them are already phased out.
The only advantage to a PS/2 is that those ports are dedicated as HID (Human Interface Device). So older systems will not need to load drivers for devices to work. (Which is required to work in dos and install OS on old systems)
But the main issue here is hotswapping or Plug n' Play. PS/2 is not hotswappable! And I hope everyone here buying a PS/2 device knows that.
It's not meant to be plugged into your powered-on computer and work like a USB. You're supposed to power down your computer, plug in any ps/2 devices, then turn it back on. Not doing so could actually damage your equipment on older systems.
Quote from wiki: They are not designed to be hot swappable. Hot swapping PS/2 devices usually does not cause damage due to the fact that more modern microcontrollers tend to have more robust I/O lines built into them which are harder to damage than those of older controllers; however, hot swapping can still potentially cause damage on older machines, or machines with less robust port implementations.

If you already have a keyboard plugged into your ps/2 connector and you unplug/plug it, it will work but other than that I don't think you should just plug it in without turning off your computer first. This is very annoying for LANs and PCBangs/Internet Cafes

Yo kore since ur shipping out tomorrow please check your PM box. I do not live at the same place as 6 months ago, and it will go to the wrong place. x.x

sent this in an e-mail as well
Can I just have 2 separate shipments? Get my black DT35 now, and then white one later when it comes in?
|
Should get a tracking number tonight then

Shiiiit about the white keyboards
Kinda sad about that, but honestly, its no biggie, just happy to be getting them in any case hehe.
I just chose the black one instead.

*waits patiently for tracking number in email*

I got my cj entus shirt finally! Actually I got it almost a week ago. Only problem was it was too small . It was the size I ordered but I guess I should have done the chest measurements and stuff that people recommended, so I'll have to do that for the KT shirt if I get one.
|
|
kOre are the shirt sizes in korean? I remember my brother telling me that the measurement is different if you order clothing from there, just asking becuase it seems a lot of people are getting small shirts.
If so maybe you should get a chart up to so people can measure themself to get the right size.

Got my tracking number and its to the correct address thanks kore your the best.

Hi kOre, I heard there are also DT-35 keyboards in Korean layout with USB connection. Since I use my laptop a lot, I do need a keyboard which supports USB connection. Do you have any plan to get those?
|
I assume I'm one of the 4 without a tracking number? I don't have mine yet and I had 2 keyboards ordered.

Check your PM Djz and yes goneim maybe in the future.
