Out of pure, cold spite, and nothing else, I will be helping people learn Starcraft.
Update: I do intend to go through with this; however, as stated below I don't really think it's possible to accomodate set times for teaching. So my plan is just to come online, start streaming, and asking who needs help. At that time I'll try to favour people who have messaged me previously.
Alternatively, add TheSituation on iCCup and I can help people when they see me there.
MY CREDENTIALS: Race(s): Two years of random, two years of Protoss and, most recently, five years of Zerg. Achievements: None. I am terrible. I went all-in twice against JF when he was 15 at WCG and won. I am struggling at C this season. I didn't make it past C+ during the TSL2 ladder. I beat Combat-Ex 3-1. I beat a Chinese progamer at IEF by gambling 12 Hatch agaisnt him. I am better at Starcraft than machinehead*.
SERVICES: Cost: Free. Time: An hour per session. I will also be livestreaming the thing so other people can follow along. Services: We will be watching replays of you or discussing strategies and referencing games. We will theorycraft a lot. We will not discuss builds to the letter, but we will talk more of the goals and transitions of a build.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: Race(s): Any. My knowledge of PvP and TvT are basically non-existent. My TvP and PvT are very bad. Anything involving Zerg I feel confident talking about. Skill: I'd prefer if you can hold a D+ rank, but I'm not going to make that a requirement. Requirements: I ask that you have replays or specific problems / questions ready to talk about. You should also have access to Ventrillo and have a microphone.
SCHEDULE: Schedule: Will be very random. I plan on simply turning on my stream and seeing if anyone needs help. I doubt I can commit to anything more than that, unfortuantely. *"better" by my own arbitrary metrics.
rofl, this is like a chain of threads .... I would be interested as a fellow zerg/protoss player so yea, I'll be down depending on when you're free and when I'm free! ^_^
Is it really that low? Even if he only provides a few sessions by streaming them that's really cool. Schedule a couple sessions and I think the viewer rate would be rather crazy. So he's proving a point to a guy who was being too stubborn to listen doesn't mean he won't do anything good with it if he actually does give a few lessons. And knowing Chill he'll at least host a few sessions just to stick with his word.
Sounds nice, unfortunately my weaknesses are mostly sloppy mechanics and silly mistakes, so I'd have to churn out alot of games before I'd have any somewhat-intelligent questions ready. Might grind a little and see if i hit any bumps.
Someone that has an axe to grind with me acting like a 5 year old. The fact that you can be a mod is what gives me confidence that I can do anything that I wanted. You are an inspiration to many. Perhaps I should have included that I played chill once and I beat him... Personally, I figured it would rival mentioning a C player, but I guess you are hot stuff.
I love how you list beating Combat-Ex as a credential rofl.
You beat a SEMI PROGAMER MAN.
If you're going to reference Combat-Ex, then you need to talk really fast and use builds that only work against US East players, and every 5 minutes you have to mention how you have an "amazing mineral to gas ratio." Remember, having less than 500 min/gas is always a good thing, even if it means you are mined out and can't produce anything.

I can say, without any doubt whatsoever, that I can teach people this game much, much better than you. And this is to prove that.

I shouldn't have done that, now I have no meenerals.

What's next, you want to send me a screen shot of your penis so we can have a biggest-dick contest? With the way you are acting you would probably want to come over here so you could experience it for yourself.
I don't even play zerg... and not once have I offered to teach zerg. If you think you know T and P better than me, or could teach it better, you are about as foolish as you come off in your messages.

I'm really not sure how you got from here to there.
Let's follow the events: - You make a shitty OP. - Everyone, including staff and myself, tells you it's a shitty OP. - You say if I can do it better, do it myself instead of 'acting childish'. - I do it myself. - That somehow implies I am five-years old.
The whole point is, you are better than me, right? Which is totally irrelevant in every aspect, especially considering you are not even good. You like attention and you are good at getting it. Too bad it's never deserved. Comedy surely isn't your thing. So if you think you can teach SC, then do it. I'm not 5 years old like you; I promise I won't start trolling your thread...

It's relevant because the only reason I'm doing this is out of spite as referenced in the original post.
Are you for real? You sound like you could be a decent teacher because you speak very well when you commentate. I think think teaching ability is potentially even more important than skill level and based on machinehead's posts so far, I don't think he would be a very good teacher.

Knowing and teaching are two completely different skill sets. A lot of high school teachers only have Bachelor's Degrees, yet John Nash (Nobel prize winning mathematician) couldn't teach Algebra to a 7th grader.
Rarely are the most talented people the best teachers. A lot of college professors are really intelligent but are oddly enough worse at teaching their subjects than their graduate student TAs.
Chill has an incredibly deep understanding of the game backed by years of experience and talking to other players. I would not be surprised if Chill had the ability to bring players beyond his own level.

Okay. I also don't care for you as continually referenced in all my posts and the original post of this thread and the motivation for this thread being opened in the first place.
Doing things out of spite is always a mature thing. Doesn't scream childish at all. Maybe when you go to work you should say, "I'm going to work for free, because that's what the TL mods think should happen." So far, I have let people decide on what they want to pay... I'm trying to make this a fun thing and not burden people by paying a lot for an uncertain product. It's a win/win situation, and hardly something to fuss over.
People that make a big deal out of nothing disappoint me.
That Chill is being immature doesn't make responding in kind any more mature because "he did it first." Seriously, I can't even type "he did it first," without imagining the playground and some child crying.

Looks like he just can't get over the fact that someone with a colourful history of providing for the community (zerg fpvods, streaming, etc.) has taken up the challenge and simultaneously whacked his potential financial gain. I don't know if accepting a challenge is particularly immature or childish, too. Kinda manly to stick your neck out there and be willing to give some of your time, even if it's solely out of spite.

Not sure how this is trolling. I've laid my cards on the table pretty readily in the opening post. If you want to discuss this further PM me or reply here.

C'mon everyone knows that you know that everyone knows that you know you are trolling :p
I don't really care, personally i enjoyed reading your thread You have a good sense of humour, unlike most of the mods out there.

Not necessarily troll, but BM. I have seen you in particular troll in the past, though Granted, it's in the rules that you're more than warranted to act that way, but still.
1. Incontrol makes offer to teach for money. Effort in post = 100 2. machinehead (playa) makes offer to teach money. Effort in post = 50 3. People dont recognize machinehead 4. Machinehead states he just wants to help out. icc account is shown, B+ rank last season 5. Chill (C+ last season) states he doesn't know him, and starts bashing 6. Machinehead defends 7. G5 states he doesn't know him, gogo bo5 8. Thread goes to hell by people not knowing him and claiming op is shit 9. Chill makes this thread
Now, I really dont understand why you have spite, even by making this troll thread you are being so BM with him, even though u dont know him. And basically stating you are better than him without any means to even explain why, just for a very cynical joke against his claim he has beaten some good players is just plain trolling.
I dont get how you want people to be mannered in this community with this kind of example.
Sure, this thread made me laugh a bit, but it's totally wrong and quite frankly, uncalled for.

Or 1) Machinehead doesn't answer a single question we ask him 2) People don't believe him because he doesn't answer a single question straight up

While we're making lists of numbers: 1) It's Chill. This is how he do. 2) TL is full of sycophantic fucks who love some good drama. 3) Fucker deserves it.

He flamed a ton of people in the WCG 2009 thread, for a good 10+ pages. Including two people running WCG, some participants in WCG, and people that he was able to walkover by messing with the rules (as Idra has pointed out and has had to deal with).

I think I'm qualified to give lessons. I beat Chill and alffla in a 3-way FFA on Lost Temple a few months ago. My ability to deal with mass Scouts is unparalleled in the Starcraft world.
Well I dont really care how this thread got hear, or why. However if the end result is a good starcraft player giving people 1 on 1 advice for free. I say . Hope I can get some of that free zerg training myself
Yeah shit's too harsh really, I agree with never_toss. The guy just wanted to offer some help, for money. Granted that there's money in exchange for this help/advice you have the right to question his skills etc. so that you can see whether it's worth it or not but yeah it just got way out of line. And after 3-4 pages, people who like drama saw the opportunity for some action and obviously put their effort into getting what they wanted as well, seems like some people got something out of it anyway.
Regardless of what I think, the fact that chill decided to help out people regardless of reason, spite in this case is great. The more skilled people who can help out the better. Goodluck, hope it works out well!
