Effort most likely won't be able to exploit a hole in a build he's never seen before. Fantasy's TvZ is all about preparation and counter-preparation. A new build is usually good for one game against a good zerg before you have to do something new, unless you can disguise it well and switch it up.

Fantasy still hasn't played enough TvZs to be truly tested or not. But he did take JD to a 5th game and any Terran who can do that is clearly S-class.

efforts zvt is also s-class these days...

effort vs flash would be an epic final.

Not really inspiring from Flash. I know people are all "omg Flash so good!" but seriously, if you don't think Effort is going to win games like game 2 and 3 with those huge advantages July had, you're fooling yourselves.

I hope Flash keeps practicing, he's my favorite player and he really needs this GSL win over Effort to prove he can still take a league. Go go go Flash!

Overlooking Iris is a big mistake.

Yea seriously, Berserker does have the TvZ to steamroll effort, and not to mention they are on the fucking same team. I think Berserker vs Effort could very well go all 5 games. Iris has been playing great starcraft all year, dont sleep on him.

The only reason Iris has even a tiny chance is that he and Effort are on the same team.
+ Show Spoiler [PL] +
And also because neither player will be practicing much for this with PL Playoffs against Samsung happening right before it.

Iris has been playing solid all year but watch, oh, the last FIFTEEN ZvTs Effort has played. Other than the Flash BBS fail, Effort has looked absolutely unstoppable. Effort's ZvT in a BO5, especially against someone other than surgical-precision-build Fantasy, is currently one of the safest possible bets in SC.

Why on earth would you bring up Fantasy when talking about TvZ?

TvP the guy is a monster... TvT the guy is a monster... but TvZ? Lol... Fantasy doesn't have jaw dropping TvZ by any means, in fact his precision builds still possess small holes that players like EffOrt excel at exploiting.

Fantasy's TvZ isn't amazing, and I wouldn't bet my life on him winning some random proleague game.

But Fantasy has proven time and time again that he is a force to be reckoned with in a BO5 series, coming up with builds that don't just win but straight up dismantle his opponents with greater regularity than any other Terran. See OSL finals game 4 against Stork, games 1 and 2 against Jaedong for examples. Not to mention the GGPlay series which evolved into a revolution all by itself.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I think Fantasy's TvT is somewhat overrated, as is Leta's. Fantasy won a couple of cheese builds against Flash when Flash was retarded, but when they play straight up Flash has crushed him every time. Fantasy has also lost unconvincingly to Skyhigh (the second best TvT player in my opinion) and even Lomo of all people in a macro game. The only great long TvT Fantasy has played lately was against Leta when Leta gave away 7 Dropships, and this is the same Leta who just got murdered two straight by Skyhigh on the same map.

I don't think we can say Fantasy's TvT is monstrous, though his TvP indisputably is.

Glad to see Flash won but... his play still leaves sth to be desired... In both games 2 and 3 he felt significantly behind and then had to pull out amazing comebacks.

Yet again Flash decided to save on turrets in the game on Heartbreake Ridhe which slowed him down significantly. On the Outsider he let his scout die early and got almost defeated by lings.

On the other hand he seemed to win the mind game against July. I think July was hesitant at times against Flash and that allow Flash to come back in both 2nd and 3rd game...

this series was really weird..

flash pulled an amazing comeback in game 2. I dont think july particularly blew it that game, and flash just played great.

Game 3 was a different story. July fucked up so hard i can't even believe it.

not to mention his complete lack of pressure on Flash's expos was astounding. Its so fucking easy to put lurkers behind flash's 3rd on outsider.. he even had drop. I dont understand!!

Yeah, game 2 was an amazing late game play by Flash. I watched on the edge of my seat as he was clawing his way back into the game. But game 3... Man... I just couldn't understand what I was watching. July was playing really bad.

I guess the interview with Flash explains a bit July's play. Apparently July lost his confidence after game 2 and become really nervous.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Flash is going to beat Effort in the finals (should effort beat iris) simply because it is a BO5.

Flash has had MANY MANY more BO5 matches than Effort. IIRC, Effort has never played a BO5, and I really do think that would be telling.

Flash coming back from seemingly almost losing is a credit to his timing and game sense.

actually i'm pretty surprised that he won in such a clear way (3-0). after his recent tvz performances i even thought he wouldn't advance at all. but seems like he got is stuff together and showed why he is one of the best terrans. i've only seen the first game though... but that was a very solid performance.

third one was like 7 gas vs 2, and in both games 2 and 3 July at one point had a 30 supply lead.
