as for fakesteve, you documenting shits from hearing others doesnt make everything true. you type like you know everything from what? just because someone told you? do you actually stalk them?
ur long ass story is more biased towards idra.
its funny how u can say SDM acted unprofessional yet it was ok for idra to say dumb stuff in public stream? just because his opponent wasn't offended? just because its just the way he is(BM)?
even if he hasnt heard about 'stream' there is no need of him acting like this when tasteless&sdm was nice enough to host/stream for us.
don't get me wrong.. im not on side with any of them. it was very fun reading your post.
...lol
yeah you got me man, i dont know anything im just making it all up, also you're completely right idra was not very nice at all and someone not being nice is a perfectly legitimate reason to freak out and ruin a large portion of a starcraft cast

The bottom line is that it doesn't matter that Idra did, he could have cussed and ranted all he wanted...SDM is a commentator, and should have done his job professionally. SDM is more than a commentator i think him and and tasteless actually admin and organise the games. Its obvious that they at least had a hand in organising the showmatch with tossgirl. GOM isnt as directly involved in producing or refereeing the games as their Intel classic games. They have a diff observer, and the video production is much more crude. The reason esports isnt taken seriously outside of Korea is purely the attitude of players. Its the reason KESPA in all their infinite evil is trying to introduce formality into the scene. GG, bow, not BG (puts on best christian bale impersonation) , shitfucknoob hacker, *throws mouse at wall* . Rage and elitism get pretty bad at competitive levels of any competition game. Trash talk and banter can only serve to feed negative attitudes and reactions of the players. Yes, clearly the reason esports isn't taken seriously outside Korea is "purely the attitude of the players." Sponsors, money, marketing, broadcast infrastructure, etc. all these things pale in comparison to player attitudes. If only the white players could be GM, say GG and bow more, we'd have OSL in America! Bullet proof analysis there T0fuuu.

funny.. i like the way you mentioned "large portion of a starcraft cast" it was perfectly fine for idra to say whatever in such large event. oh its alright though =) he is aight, hes been asshole in his gaming life. he is steve-approved! as you can see all kinds of responses you get in this post. rather you offend opponent or not, some of viewers werent happy with idra pulling his stunts as well.
i didnt say anything about you not know anything, just that 'your source or info' can be 1sided story or there might be unheard story.
all i really see in ur post is. daniel is being BM and acted un-pro because steve has not approved him yet.
edit: i like how u blame daniel for screwing up the stream. did he really? i really wonder what would've happen if idra responded the way 'pro' should.

I agree with you Fakesteve and appreciate you semi-defending Daniel when the antifans misinterpret your post as Daniel-bashing. It is extremely clear though that you lack knowledge of what facts are, and what makes an opinion more valid than others. Simply stating you know more then the rest, and getting upset when people doubt you is stupid. Revealing your all-knowing inside sources every once in a while might help so that it doesn't look like you only have friends of Idra or Idra himself as sources.

You had cgs, which had the buget, coverage and prizepool of SEVERAL OSL's. It also had the scope to go across every continent and a host of teams.
But cgs failed, it wasnt necessarily because of player attitudes, i think almost all the players were very dedicated. Such as stermy who was a very high ranked quake player but changed games and trained furiously for fifa in the cgs to the point where he was dominating it. but it was mostly because of poor ratings from the fanboys boycotting the show over the structuring of their favourite teams.
Other reasons why cgs failed include the 1.6 vs css infight, much similar to past sc/wc3 relations. Ignoring korea, the push to support wc3 by all the big tourneys didnt translate to SC players moving onto the new game, which was largely rejected by the competitive scene. This made it hard for organisers to sell themselves to sponsors if viewership and signups were poor. In cgs, the powerhouse 1.6 teams all switched to css almost overnight to pursue their professional careers in esports (these are the big G7 teams, you're fnatics and complexitys), their 1.6 fans were pretty bitter abt it "sellouts, dogs etc etc" and boycotted cgs.
Cgs failed because they couldnt sell gaming to the gamers.
player exclusitivity agreements, similar to skt1 boycotting gom over kespa, also fucked cgs a bit.
I bet right now you are thinking CGS is shit and a waste of time - bang ! you just killed the chance for broadcasted esports in america -
If you look at the peaks and booms of esports in america you will notice that the slumps happen in the transition phases between games. When big organisers like cpl, eswc or wcg move their main tournaments over from old to new, its always met with a ridiculous backlash. example q3->q4 1.6->css
so yes i think player attitudes, in the broadsense of all players, towards the game, the profession and to each other have a huge part to the sucess of esports. Cos right now, gamer attitudes and their loyalty suck balls.
Most people can't even imagine what will happen to the proscene when sc2 drops. It could either be the next wc3, or the NEXT starcraft in a professional sense of the word.
Are you happy with my response? I believe this is all i wanted to say and this is too OT now.

Dude stop being a damn hypocrite and going against everything he's saying. You say you're not taking sides but you're obviously only justifying Daniel's actions. Steve doesn't have to approve of shit, he just knows what he's talking about.

Wait, sorry, I didn't watch this live so im peicing this together [any vods btw?]:
Tarson asked Idra a question about his safe play Idra responded and the word fuck was uttered SDM flipped the shit out for the entire cast, while tasteless tried to go on as normal?
Gotta say- mind you, again, I dont really understand the context of idra swearing or anything- while swearing is unprofessional for a progamer while hes playing on any kind of match outside of practicing, flipping out as a caster is far worse. I mean maybe if Idra was insulting Tarson I can understand getting angry [korean culture/he was his original coach, albeit not a good on to idra].
Anything I'm misinterpreting? :S
Edit: The powers that be should try to get SDM to apologize to Idra publically if he really did flip out for an entire cast and speak ill of him.

Pretty much because: It looked like SDM was at first just mad about the chatting, saying he should have been focusing on the match, etc, and then that just pushed him over the edge.

Can we just go back to talking about the games and the tournament?
The tournament will be fun, but the games played on that day were pretty awful. Every game was horribly one-sided and filled with blatant errors that we're just not used to seeing from Koreans anymore, it's like taking a time machine back like 6 or 7 years
I liked watching Idra's convincing wins over Tarson though
Seriously the only names in tournament I'm interested in are Idra and Mondragon and Ret. I wish Nony was playing
But I'm hoping for Idra and Mondragon, or Idra and Ret in finals, with Idra winning X-0

What is the point of your reply? The VOD's were posted on 06/06/09, and today is the 10th, my math says that 4 days have gone by yet clicking on the 'view' link pops up the Premium User Confomation box. Try contributing something useful nex time, or don't bother.

So Idra:
Who do you fear the most in Valor, and what do you think of your chances of winning? 80%? 90%?
How many Korean hookers does $700 buy?

depends on how pretty they are
