About JWD, aha, well I disagree with him but no surprise I didnt read it since it must have been in a different thread since it says he wrote it at 20:47.
And Tossgirl is certainly in a few events now for other reasons than her skill but she didnt just magically appear, she got where she is by being the best female sc player there is. Just as Idra being is a bonus but theyre not doing this kind of thing just for fun. After all Estro/Daniel Lee got him there and theyre not gonna spend money on him so that ogn / mbc is gonna have higher ratings for one show or because therell be a few more people who like estro. Youre right, the discussion about whether Idra is the worst/2nd worst/3rd worst whatever player is stupid, thanks for agreeing with what I said, just dont make it sound like you know shit.
And man all those arguments are just repeating itself: Idra has bad attitude, Daniel Lee got him there etc.
General bs which might be true but that doesnt have to do anything with this thread: which is what happened in valour tournament, and in this instance, Idra barely did anything wrong, he just used a fucking swear word and didnt deserve to be humiliated like that.
I feel I have to repeat my arguments too so obviously there is a misunderstanding. You don't need to insult me since we seem to discuss different things. If you think the discussion is about this incident only then yes I agree with you 100 %. Idra didn' do much wrong except swearing and Daniel overexaggerated. Agree completely.
But I find it rather worthless to make that statement when there are so many obvious incididents that lead up to this. If we ignore all things that Idra has done in the past then yes, Idra looks fairly innocent here, but anyone who has followed Idras games in the past and still feels he is a victim here is extremely ignorant. Also, I think it's very unfair to say that Daniel humiliated Idra when he merely exaggerated some facts. He said he had to beg for his progamer license and was the worst progamer. The fact is that the license was given to him and he is merely among the worst, not THE worst. I think that insult is very tiny compared to all the nerdrage Idra has thrown around during the years and making Idra a victim here is laughable. How can anyone sympathize with Idra here :D Seriously, have you not seen Idras games before?
Daniel has been around since before Grrrr won the first starleague and he hasn't ever talked like this about ANY other player in any other broadcast. That should tell you something about Idra.
Also, I quoted JWD on the wrong date. I just copy pasted another quote and put in JWD's quotes from this thread. I'm not going to say anything more about that, but the quotes are in this thread and that's a fact. Look it up yourself if you don't believe me for the third time and sorry again for putting wrong time on the quotes.

And weeh again I have to repeat myself, Daniel had never dealt with any of the bm from Idra in the past, therefore your post still doesnt make sense. And come on just think for a second about how youd feel if someones talks about you like that in front of several thousand people when you cant even defend yourself. "He merely exaggerated some facts" ... bs, just the tone in which daniel did it etc.... honestly if that had happened to me id feel like shit.
And I dont' even like Idra. But in this instance he doesnt deserve the crap people give him.

So basically you are saying even if Idra had not spoken a word (other than gg) it would have been allright for DL to do what he did on a live cast?
|
Krigstar, In general I find idra to be an annoying nerdrager, and SDM to be an ok commentator that works well with tasteless, in this tournament/game however, Idra did nothing wrong.
In this instance SDM acted like a whiny bitch while on air, badmouthing idra when he had no chance to defend himself. Calling him the worst progamer in korea is about as much a kick to the balls as he could come up with. You seem to think that because idra has acted like a jerk for no reason ingame in tons of other cases, SDM should act like just as much a jerk now. 2 wrongs doesn't make 1 right.
How do you know how SDM talks about others, did you have him on a mic when (insert x foreigner in estro here) ran away from the progaming house to live of poker? Or do you know how he would have talked if he knew about shit like when elky scammed the foreigner scene for however many dollars? All your post is about is like, hey this is idra, he is baaaaad. look how bm he is, how can you support someone like this? He is mean. I don't like him. You have no arguments about idras actions in the valor tournament, which is what is appropriate for this thread. Bringing up everything else Idra has done, isn't relevant to SDM reaction and just makes this thread a clutterfest. Also, a statement being a fact doesn't make it not an insult. If I said daniel lee was the worst starcraft pro-team trainer in korea, the fact that it was true/almost true wouldn't make it not an insult.
I was honestly embarrassed to see such a reaction from a grown-up professional commentator. Oh, I don't like this guy, so I'm just not gonna commentate, ruining the whole cast for the viewers. Fucking ironic as he sat there whining about the players lack of professionalism.
Don't excuse me from the profanity, excuse me from a commentator punishing me, the viewer, because his ego got hurt.

I keep seeing this. How is telling somebody their build orders and cheese strats are terrible not bm? "I never fe vs a white terran," and at least koreans "do smart stuff so i can guess what it is and counter it." "I can't imagine why you didn't expect that" in reference to tarson commenting that it was unfortunate for him that he scouted the 2port. He basically insinuated that Tarson was stupid. It seems to me a lot of people didn't or can't read the chat (it is very blurry so I can understand) and just caught the swearing and thought that was what it was all about.

"I never fe vs a white terran," ... Idra doesn't, how is this bm foreigners are considered unpredictable, Daniel Lee said himself that Sea[shield] also thought so. It was a bad mistake from Tarson to let him scout that. Daniel Lee and Tasteless also said so. So... yeah Idra was horribly bm there...
When Idra tells Strelok he wins cause he does stupid shit then agreed, thats very bm... but this wasnt anything like that.

I don't think it was just this incident which led to it though. Everyone knows about his previous comments regarding F91 and other games including many koreans. If he had just been respectable to people then everyone would like him and it would all be good, but hes got such a bad attitude people are not just going to ignore it.

You took one line out of the entire conversation and called it not BM. No that one line by itself is not bm but the conversation as a whole is. saying I can't believe you did X and at least Koreans do smart stuff is insinuating that Tarson is stupid or bad. Yes Daniel Lee and Nick pointed out the mistake, they're commentators, they're supposed to point out the mistakes and the good moves. Its part of commentating and analyzing the game. They also did it without disrespecting the player, Idra did not.

So does Idra FE against Spanish or Black Terrans?

I addressed these lines, turns out they are more than 1.
I'll admit though, I couldn't see the "at least koreans do smart stuff" part thats a bit stupid to say.

Yeah, I'm surprised this thread is still alive as well...though obviously I've done my fair share of posting in here
It's not half as bad as some of the action in General though...

mh I think youre right Im gonna shut up on this matter for now ^^

People focused on the cursing are missing the point. The conversation was this:
Tarson: i was dissapointed about this fe Idra: i never fe vs white terrans Tarson: ?? Tarson: okay Tarson: bs Tarson: but koreans chees to Tarson: ?? Idra: ya but they do smart stuff Idra: so i can guess what its gonna be Idra: and counter it Idra: with you guys i have no fuckin idea what you're gonna do Tarson: ^^ Tarson: tha Tarson: asw piss me off at the beggingn ?? Tarson: u scout my # port Idra: cant imagine why you didnt expect it Idra: when you ?? ??
Real subtle there, idra. This passive aggressive bullshit is why you got called out, not because you used the word "fuckin", which was just the cherry on top. Not because you just genuinely said "well, I don't know what the fuck you were going to do " in a joking manner. You have 0 charisma and 0 respect for your opponent, so don't expect anyone to take you seriously.
What makes it more of a joke is how it seems like you think you're "one of them (Korean pro)" and how this smarmy attitude comes through in your trash talk.
That said, SDM was incredibly unprofessional. That doesn't make idra any less of an asshat.
|
i didnt say it was in a joking manner, i meant everything i said.
its undeniable that foreigners do cheesy unpredictable stuff. hell he went 2 port wraith, thats about as cheesy as you can get tvt 'gee hope they cant see me or i lose'. i didnt tell him he was terrible because he plays that way, just that im not gonna fe vs someone likely to take risks like that. and that wasnt a tirade, it was in response to his questions.
|
lol at "worst progamer in korea"
Sure, Idra lost in his only minor league game, but the fact is that CJ thought he was good enough that they let him play in the minor league. To me, that doesn't say that Idra is one of the worst B teamers - it tells me that he is one of the better B teamers. Considering Idra hasn't been in Korea very long, he's doing pretty damn good imo.
w/e I guess, IdrA bandwagon hate gogo

I'm sure you could have found more tactful ways to phrase it, there's really no reason for your communication style.

I didn't think idra was being that rude, or had some sort of malicious intent.
It didn't come off that way.
I wouldn't call Daniel Lee unprofessional or anything though, he was just speaking his feelings on the matter. Sure, I wish he commented on the match more, but it added to the "drama"
