HoeJJa hasn't won a single zvz in a broadcasted game but sAviOr's zvz hasn't been very good lately either. Could go either way but I'm rooting for sAviOr.
Luxury should win his games, considering he's got a really good zvz and this ain't proleague, but who knows, it's Luxury after all.
If free loses his games, I will be very, very sad, he should take it 2-0 with ease.
sKyHigh has been pwning left and right lately, but he's still a proleague top-dog to me. Given his good performances last season, I'm thinking he's got the game vs GGPlay, who's been really meh lately.
|
Should be a fun set of games.
|
despite savior's average zvz i still lb'ed for him... ggplay vs skyhigh might be interesting though ^^
|
|
|
Starting with 2 ZvZs...should be a fast night, at any rate.

This could be very interesting. free's PvZ ought to be easy-win. The rest, I'm not going to guess.
|
Wait
who is playing? Luxury or Fake Yellow?
|
Aaaand SDM confuses Yarnc and Luxury. Or else the OP did...?
|
lol... they can't figure out who chance is. Tasteless has no clue, and SDM confused him with his brother.
|
Yellow[arnc] doesn't play for KTF. Luxury does. I didn't get it wrong this time. lol
|
it's luxury. SDM messed up

as in, luxury is a lucky zerg

Ah, okay. Let's see if they will figure this out by the night's end

SDM and Tasteless mix up these names. They should learn to use teamliquid.net and TLPD.

Do you guys fast forward to the games?

"Save us." Not the greatest song, unfortunately.

HoeJJa's micro is failing.
|
Savior's ling micro is so good.
|
Savior has superior micro so far
|
Damn. Savior loses his gas advantage.

Ling blunder by savior... looks like HoeJJa's back ahead? Maybe? But savior still microing better.
|
|
Savior shouldnt have suicided his lings
|
And savior ggs.
|
Savior loses first game...
|
edit: my stream is behind
|
Savior screwed up when he allowed Hoejja to pick off the drones mining gas. zvz is just too unforgiving.
|
Clutch scourging at the last battle there by Hoejja...
It could have gone any way before that last battle to be honest, even considering Savior essentially lost control of his 2nd gas, it was fairly even but Hoejja just Scourged all over savior's face
|
|
|
savior 77% vs Hoejja 23%.
|
Hoejja is going to win this 2:0
|
Wow, havnt watched too many none JD ZvZs and boy it's a big diffrence in skill...

I think Savior will come back tbh

weak sauce by the maestro T_T

This is over. Hoejja has 4 drones left.
3 left.

Okay, HoeJJa, that was silly.

savior, you better have scourges spawning!!!!!!

Hoejja single-droning this. Yeah it's over.
And he gg's a few seconds later.

Hoejja has ONE drone. THis is over.

Luxury was always called Park Chance. It's because his name is Park Chan Soo, but I somehow though he was using the nick Practice in PL games.

I was quite shocked when Tasteless said Fake yellow.. Isnt that Lux? Cant blame that they are twins =D
|
Honestly I don't think this was that much of an upset, especially by GOM standards.

Hahaha

As much as I hate to say it but I guess Savior has past his time.

Korean commercials make me convinced that I've lost my sanity while watching them.

So Savior is out of OSL and GOM, is he in the MSL or eliminated from all 3?

He made, what, Ro8 last MSL so he's seeded in the MSL.

He does use Practice as well. In my opinion, this is one of the reasons why I think the foreign community should start referring to progamers as the Koreans do, using their real names. You often have players who use multiple IDs, and it can be quite confusing. Honestly, Korean names really aren't that difficult once you get the hang of them.

I still call them by their old nicks, but that's a personal preference. TLPD is a great tool, people look way smarter when their search that before asking questions about players' nicks, records etc.

Why Tasteless repeat is Fake YellOw not Luxury on this game?

As nice as it is to have English casts in GOM, it's embarrassing that they've screwed this up so badly. It's KTF, it's Luxury, it's an MSL winner ("he's never won a starleague" ... wrong), I'm sorry but it's really not that hard to get something like this right.

Yeah...I understand that they might not have the free time to closely follow the pro scene but it would be nice if they would take a few minutes to gather some info on the people who are playing before the cast.

wow, free just stormed and killed his own shuttles with the reavers +_+
Those two reavers sure would come in handy now ...

free's done stupid free >_>

The "one" lurker is raping Free. ROFL.

What the hell Free?! Jesus, this tournament is cursed.

Yeah. THis is over.
FREE GGs. (Frankly, I don't care about most protoss players (other than Bisu) now that my favorite toss Stork is out)

Mostly thanks to GOM, my liquibet percentage over time is like 50*(1+exp(-t)).
|
Sometimes I wonder if all these upsets happen because the players either don't care or were pressured into throwing those games to focus on other leagues. I mean, that's a lot of top players that have been knocked out by virtual no-namers.
|
meh. free played pretty sloppily, but i think this series of games has shown how homogenized the skill level in pro SC has become.
|
this is why I stopped being a Free fan. He is so damn inconsistent
|
lol look at that if you vote oppositely on gom you get 2/3 right.
|
I think this tournament really proves how good everyone's natural skills are and who is good just because they prepare a lot.
There is a reason Jaedong and Flash are so good in GOM, while others just fail
|
|
oh I am streak 3/3 liquibet so far, now ggplay for the win.
|
I could still go 3/4... now watch GGPlay win and scrap that thought. Although, GGPlay fighting, STARS forever!

No-namers don't have to train for PL games while big names do. So players like Hul train solely for this game while Free has PL games and starleague qualifiers to train for.

No seriously 5 of six dragons are now no longer in the tournament.
Kal is the last remaining hope for protoss. :x

Starcraft is not a game where there are really natural skills in. Practicing nets you the win. i believe that anybody can be good at it since it does not have physical requirements (train 8-10 hours a day on Iccup) and you can be pro too...

True, but all of these 3 players are natural talents.
The thing I wanted to bring up is the fact that Free is way better than Hul and shouldn't have had a hard time winning against him. Perhaps it was Hul practicing more than Free for these series or Free just being in a bad day, but my personal oppinion is that Free is better.

Their cultural environement gives them the opportunity to practice more than other people. A very talented foreigner with a lot of potential won't be given the same chances as an equally talented korean that gains fame withing his PC bang, then enters a good korean clan and is eventaully picked up by a proteam.

I fully agree that free is surely a better player than Hul.
What I meant is, this is a tournament which shows who the better players between the top level pros are. July advanced while free didn't, which makes July a better player than free imo.

"Anybody can be a progamer." "Not a game with natural skills."
Now, the ordinary person reads this and says, "That's stupid, I'm never going to be as good as Idra/NonY/Bisu/Mondragon/whoever, even if I practice, I'm just not that good."
What you're doing is like saying anyone can be a chess master. It may be less physically demanding than (pick your favorite physical sport), but the mental element isn't something you can just overlook. You may not have realized this, but some people are smarter than other people, better at decision-making, better at reading situations, etc.

It kills one drone. Hydras are out. Vulture speed is up.

Four more vultures are going in!!! GGplay times a hydra block though.

Did he get two or three drones?
|
I've never seen so many vulture shots at drones with so few drone kills
|
Even if he doesn't get more drone kills he might buy some time to secure his nat and not be overrun by hydras later on.

Skyhigh has seriously taken like 6 Drones to 1 HP.

Skyhigh takes out so many overlords.

I just cringe everytime Daniel says "tourettes".

To bad he didnt get more then 1 drone

GGPlay needs OL speed to go with those hydras.

Skyhigh kills at least ten drones. Possibly 16.
|
Thanks for the LRs guys..can't get stream to work here

Actually, scratch that, GGPlay needs drones to go with his hatcheries.

A whole year? Flash's talent is so enormous it's hard to see him getting pushed off. But Leta basically went proleague wonder -> qualify for both leagues -> #2 Terran over the course of like four months, a path that Skyhigh is pretty close to following already.
Edit: Totally forgot about Fantasy, don't know what I was thinking. Let me say I think Skyhigh gives Leta a run for his money over the next three months, but Flash and Fantasy remain the top 2.

Didn't he already upset flash in the MSL qualifiers?

Quite a lot of terran players consider mech to be lame and boring, even if it's effective. I'm pretty sure he was just joking, since he'd have rather seen some nice bio micro than some mech gayness. Honnestly, I would have liked that too.

hmm, why not go 3hatch, den, range and then push with slow hydras instead? You get them out earlier, you will be able to create economy and still tech to lair while you push, and it's rather safe if the terran goes 2port wraith.
Ah well, SkyHigh imba

By looking only at the match card, I could tell that Skyhigh vs GGPlay is the only matchup worth watching... Or was it?

Not really. Their game 2 on Medusa may be worth the time (well, all depends on how much time you have ). I didnt see Savior's games, but as far as the others are concerned... I can't really recommend any with a clear conscience:-p Go watch some PL instead
edit: I fail at grammar, nm:-p

it's to get you to buy their 'premium service' for 50 bucks

Free?! How come. I totally didn't see it coming. Not against a no name like this guy...
Is there even one decent protoss left in the tournament. It seems completely oppoiste to the last season when there were just way too many protoss in the final stages.
And damn... The number of upsets is carzy here. I always keep wondering if those 'top players' take Gom really seriously. Somehow there are much fewer upsets in the opther leagues but maybe that's beacuse good number of them are seeded in them... dunno...
But yay for HoeJJa. He finally won ZvZ. Too bad it was at savior cost...
