fomos reported that there were over 8,000 people there live to see the games in Pusan. Just comparing purely off the top of my head the crowd looked much larger than anything I've seen in the last 3 or 4 starleague seasons, when the finals were all held in like large convention halls or whatever, so there weren't that many people. Anyone else remember the last time they saw that large a crowd at a Starleague final?

T_T seriously.

Jaedong just adapted hella well to Fantasy and Fantasy could not do the same. All the games were very one-sided which made it even more painful to get fantasy get dominated on the last three. Seemed to me that he was learning fantasy's timings on the first two games and then just made his units a couple seconds earlier/later than standard. Can't believe fantasy went mech all 5 games, he should have like went MnM on game 5 to throw off jaedong

Game 4 was awesome... Jaedong's overlord just going back and forth and the crowd's cheers and awes per movement made my day.

these strats are for winning, not for entertainment. late game woulda spelt disaster for jd cuz he had such few drones in some of the games. dnt see if he got more later on but thats what it showed. if fantasy defended jds attacks, there wouldve been no late game. i think fantasy just got too predictable and let jd adapt.

What's your point? All I said was that these games weren't as entertaining as they could be and lacked any epic lategame clashes. I never called any strategies bad because they weren't entertaining and it is because of Fantasy that none of the games went to lategame because of his builds which was tailored to damage Jaedong early.

I thought the games were very entertaining. I'd much rather see varied strategies, and fast paced action than 2 players sitting on their thumbs macroing for 15 minutes and deciding the game in one big battle. Your description of entertainment doesn't resonate with me at all.

How about variety? It was all micro all fast paced for all 5 games. Don't you want at least one game to be a macro TvZ?

The only reason Jaedong can win is that his micro is better than any other zerg by far. As in, Fantasy for the most part out thought and had better strats/"was luckier" than Jaedong, but Jaedong pulled most of the win simply through impressive micro.

Edit b/c I forget to insult Jaedong: Curse you Jaedong, go fall down and break your back/wrist.

God that last game sucked so badly. Fantasy didn't even have an armory by the time JD had his mutas out. And game 4's 1 base 2 port wraith against 2 hatch muta? The HECK? Even if he took out the mutas what was he going to do about the ground forces? Take out Bisu, ruin a dream OSL Finals matchup, and choke miserably. Way to go Fantasy. Now let's watch as you return to a mediocre Proleague player with a below .500 average.

i think fantasy was banking on jaedong spending some money ona hydra den and getting hydras.

woulda delayed just enough

Why would he bother, knowing that after going for a dropship fantasy would have almost nothing in his base to defend against mutalisks?

Valkyrie timing is already *extremely* perilous, as it takes forever to get enough out to be effective on their own. There's a significant timing window for a zerg to exploit. By going dropship with vultures first fantasy just increased that timing window ad infinitum, completely screwing himself over.

Same with game 4. What did he expect would happen while going 2 port wraiths...on *one* base?! Wraiths are so expensive, so where was he going to find the economy to build ground troops as well?

I doubt it. Fantasy is good just because of Boxer/OOv. Imagine SKT buying Flash. Fantasy's mechanics aren't that great

first off, boxer had very little to do with fantasy's development. he was just as good a year ago as he is now. and what's wrong with having oov as a teacher? it's not like oov is in the booth with him. that argument about boxer/oov being the sole reasons for fantasy's success is retarded.

so is the whole thing about SKT and Flash. Imagine if CJ bought Jaedong. Imagine if all 6 dragons were on the same team. Imagining that kind of crap is stupid.

Oh boy Jaedong+CJ Entus would be soooo beautiful though, finally my favourite player and favourite team would unite, so Id never have too root against jaedong ever again ^^

It seems like the best strategy would be to go m&m and then get to the late game (like Flash did in his game against Jaedong) and then switch to mech if permitted.

Genius, it's a great idea to switch to mech after dark swarm and plague are out!

? what are you even talking about, which game did Flash go m&m -> mech??
If youre talking about the last game they played in the WL playoffs than thats bs, Flash went SK Terran that game, and later on added vultures to his army which isnt that unsual for sk terran and isnt exactly going mech...

oh boy im still so happy xD

Best osl final I watched is still ggplay vs iris. I was too late to catch any of saviors finals, though from the highlights I've seen they also seemed pretty awesome.

That was the best series I've seen. Cold was running through my veins the entire time. I thought Fantasy played stunningly. His valkeryie/m&m micro was amazing. And his incredibly creative play pushed Jaedong to the very edge. I don't know how Jaedong managed to pull this one off. His star sense in game 5 was off the charts. I was tearing up by the end.

This final was better than the last two but that's about as far as i'm willing to take it!

You're all just living on fumes. Give it a few weeks, watch the finals matches again, and you'll realize how much it sucked.

Not really, but I can appreciate the desire for variety. Fantasy's MnM used to be pretty good (I haven't seen him use it recently though), but I wouldn't put it up against Jaedong. I'd rather see a close series than one where fantasy throws away a game trying to go toe to toe with Jaedong in the late game. The underdog needs to fight on his terms, where he's comfortable. That's what Fantasy did and it kept the series close.

If this were Flash vs Jaedong and there were no long bio games, I'd be totally with you, because that's where Flash shines, but I didn't miss it at all in this series.

And late game mech is just blehh in general.
