He had a nydus canal there, and a creep colony (might've morphed into a sunken later). It takes time for a player to react to a drop by sending units through a nydus. They need to gather both lings and a defiler, and use consume if it doesn't have the energy. There are tons and tons of games where terrans successfully drop a bunch of marines onto a nydus containing zerg expo. Even if they don't kill the hatchery as long as they kill the drones that's good enough for the time being. That's speculation, we don't know for sure the drop would've killed off anything too major considering JD's reaction times, "I don't think Jaedong would've survived" It all depends on how well you think he could defend it. I think a nydus+a sunken would be sufficient. What I'm trying to say (and even if I'm wrong thankyou for arguing with me civilly) is that regardless of reaction time, it takes a significant amount of time to gather the forces necessary, send them through the canal, and take out the MnM force. Watching endless numbers of TvZs, drops always have success in late game TvZ as long as they avoid scourges and there are no units already present in the base. It wouldn't matter if JD reacted instantaneously. Goddamn I am getting tired of seeing your posts pollute threads. FFS this is a community forum, not your personal pulpit. Wouldn't be surprised. Jaedong has the best multi-tasking of this protoss era.

Fucking props to Jaedong.
He just drove through KTF's best players for an all kill.
I think he set a new personal ELO peak too.

I agree. Flash's multitask started to fall behind in the late game. The one part that stands out in my mind is when he had like a ctrl group of rines attacking the defiler under the swarm, then Flash noticed it and moved toward the min line to take out the other defiler and drones. At the last second JD throws down another swarm with his 2nd defiler, saves the defiler, then rushes in with lings and rapes all the rines with zero losses. Flash's marines just stood there shooting into the swarm the whole time... Numerous other times too with SVs out of position after irradiates, and just endless amounts of rines dying to lurker spines :-S. Godly play by both, but JD earned that win for sure.

I felt that an important point was around midgame. When FlaSh tried to do a funky Marine split over the bridge against like 3 lurkers. And he lost a LOT of units that way, I feel like there could've been a better, more practical option than squeezing through a tight choke to try and take those down.

Yes he did, the last 5 minutes of the game were rape.

No, Flash didnt move the marines on purpose. He wanted to trade that little army with the hatch.
