I think the reason why it's tough to figure out who was ahead at any point is that there's two main things to look at in tvt- positional advantage and expo count/macro advantage. Flash played with the balance between the two beautifully, and managed to win the game because of it.

In this TvT, flash won not because of better micro (he did amazing with it) not because of better macro (also pretty much flawless), but he was able to make better decisions overall about when to attack, when to defend, and as importantly, where to defend and where to attack.

Truly sick game from Flash, can't believe he pulled that one out. And with so little practice time with all the games he's been playing recently.

I don't think that's a valid argument, considering hwasin is in both leagues and proleague.. AND had to practise against zerg ( for yesterday's MSL)

flash only had to practise against 1 race..

but in all honesty, I I don't think lack of practise, practise against different racial opponents, and in different leagues should really be used as an excuse.. if u made it in both starleagues.. u deserve to be there.. and ur expected to be able to have the schedule for it.. hence.. STARleague.. ur not just a pro..

By the way, Flash and Bisu are making the TLPD ELO 2300 barrier a joke. If they keep this up, they may even crack 2400. In my opinion, the ELO needs to be revised, so as to pay respect to the early era masters like Boxer, NaDa, iloveoov.

That's like changing the time system to make sure Michael Johnson never loses his world record at 400m ^^

Not quite (I think). ELO is relative and tends to increase with time (I think). Just look at the chess ELOs nowadays. 10 years ago, above 2700 was considered top few in the world. Now? Well, everyone in the top 50 are just about over 2700.

I see your point, but you can't just change a counting system like that

ELO is meant to be a measure of skill, not dominance. Of course the ELO peak will rise over time.

I agree that Hwasin seemed to lack initiative. He had like 10 dropships at one point, and hardly ever tried to put pressure on one of Flash's expansions/main. He just used them to reinforce his defense.

Good comeback by Flash, but he sure cut it close.

You're wrong. They're all 1-1, therefore both matches are win-and-in. Pretty simple.

No, all 4 players are currently 1-1. It's pretty clear that the two winners are going to end up 2-1 and advance.

If Flash manages to beat Best next week, this game will be looked back upon as one of those great games that displayed the sheer will of a champion. Flash was sooooo close to being on the brink of OSL elimination (would have needed to beat Best and Hwasin to win just to get into a tiebreaker). Now his fate is in his own hands (as is every other player in the group).

best's PvT hasn't been very good recently imo. He needs to start being able to win with something else other than 2 base into arb. Other players have called his number on that particular build recently.

I agree but you can never count out players like Best (just like you can never count out players like Flash). The real issue is just how many games will Flash have to play next week and will he have any TvP left in the tank? He hasn't played any TvP for a long time now and ironically, TvP is now his worst matchup statistically. Of course, we're still talking about the indisputable (see Katrina, Medusa) best TvP player of this generation and possibly of all time here.

He played a TvP vs Kal on Medusa this week. From what I saw I don't really think that hes what you would call "Rusty" with that matchup.

You are wrong, right now every player is 1 and 1. With 2 games remaining, 2 players will be 2-1 and 2 players will be 1-2. The two players who advance will be the players who win next week.
