MMMmmmm?? I got a question: didnt Best just play 2 games for skt like 1 hour ago?

hey Susie, could you ask Nick a question for me?
i watched his replay against G5 from tastelessgaming.com and i was wondering how much time he spends to create builds like that one. the positioning of all the buildings were awesome.
Thanks. you both rock! hopefully i'll be able to play you in iccup this season susie..since Nick is a bit out of my league...you may be too though

If sKyHigh wins ask him about him being nervous when playing on TV. He did awesome in an offline qualifier a long time ago, but then he only played a couple of games on TV and didn't play his best live. Now he did good again on MSL offline qualifiers and won his first PL game after his comeback.
To any CJ Winner
How does he think CJ will do now with so many changes? (-DarkElf -Memory +sKyHigh +EffOrt +Movie probably -Much +jjonga)
Did practice partners change a lot? Who wins the most in in house games? (if you are allowed to ask this)

scouting of main is denied, but dt tech is done, and the first dt is out.

2 base arb tech, and skyhigh scouted the fast stargate. for some reason soo built it rirght in frot of his base. second fact is now going up for skyhigh.

first arb is now being built, along with 4 gates from soo. armory is now up for skyhigh, as well as 4 total facts, 2 with shop, 2 without. soo's dt isn't going to be able to do any dmg.

soo now uses his dt to get 1 vult, but it dosen't help enouggh. skyhigh is about to scout the arb tech with the vults, and soo is putting up a third that skyhigh is going to assume is there. 5th fact going up for skyhigh, and he's going to try to move out with about 10 tanks. soo has a total of about 10 goons and 2 zeals >.>

skyhigh is trying to push out , manages to secure the high ground next to his own main. soo is frantically tossing down gates to try to pump enough units (maybe 9?)

robo going down for soo, he needs the obs at this point.
skyhigh looks like he's pushing towards the high ground between the third and the natural, and he gets that third nex. soo is in trouble, hee's running out of mins in his main. maybe those scouts wouldn't be such a bad idea xD
|
is that new gap behind the natural new? don't remember seeing that before
|
United States17042 Posts
skyhigh sets up right behind the nat, and soo is in major trouble. He's going to be forced to push into the area behind is own nat.
skyhigh forms an even smaller choke with only supply and sturret, but soo might be able to take this down.
|
that area behind the natural looks new
|

that nat nex looks like it's going to live, but soo's still down a nex from where he's supposed to be. skyhigh managed to hit the window between the start of the arbs and the start of soo starting to power units.

That girl in the movie commercial, who is she?

Sin Chupung-Ryeong looks better, they adjusted the mineral patches in some places so if the miner gets to jump over those patches for stupid reasons, it won't get trapped.
Terrans will also have a hard time floating their nat CC to the nat if ever they have to do so.
And more proxy fun.

i want to see his reaver control again. actually it's pretty funny to watch T's play against him, because they know that the reaver is coming. Actually, both boxer and intotherainbow are forced to play very similar styles from lack of practice time: they are both forced to have cheesy openings to get an advantage, and then they try to carry that advantage into a win.

he might have wanted to give himself an option of going a later 2 gate on this map. defending a 9 pool speed on close positions sucks.

Oh ok fast Corsair, now that's anything but standard on Requiem...it's very risky to give up on early units as you can get contained easily then it's over.
Let's see where this goes.

you can't really fe, there's no real choke from the nat to the center of the map (at least fe in terms of the bisu build). the downward ramp makes this map suck TvP (2 gate goon is really good for toss) and 9 pool speed is really good zvp (6 zerglings vs 2 zeals in close positions)

I actually think that there might be a possibility of a fast extra nex by glitching probes through the mineral wall, so that zerg is forced to go drop tech. you can't do it before you get the first sair though. Maybe pvt it's more viable, but it must have a huge weakness that I don't see in Pvt, because no one uses it.

Overpool from effort, Best will have to get cannons.

bisu actually control's his dt, i'm not sure best was doing that.
you can just see best 1a2a3a across the map, and trust his macro. I think that's why he keeps carelessly using key units in pvz.

He did control his DT, it moved to the min-only right after it was done in the main.

come on man? im not gonna insult you because maybe its really late where you are, but do you honestly believe what you are typing?
you think the builds you just threw out there now werent considered in the zillions of practice games korean zergs have pored over these maps with? they arent doing them because they dont work, whether it be in the long run or due to timing attacks. Stars vs. skt spoiler warning + Show Spoiler +Playing 2 games right before a game on GOMTV is very unselfish, think about it what if you had a huge football/hockey/soccer game in 2 hours and then your friends were like hey lets can you play a game with us first? You agree then afterwards they are like oh darn how about we play 1 more for a tie breaker. and you accept again.
That is unselfish

It's too bad about EffOrt, I was really pulling for him to go far in this tourny. He played some great games, but Best seems to have improved his PvZ.
Either way, it was a good learning experience. The kids got talent, thats for sure. After working out a few kinks in his game play I can see him coming back in dominating fashion.
I was particularly impressed by his play in Game 2. His use of burrow to save drones was awesome, it's really something you don't see enough of nowadays. And I was really impressed by his Hydra control, he performed some great snipes and his storm dodging in particular was amazing. Oh well. I wouldn't mind a BeSt win at any rate. The guy is clearly worlds above 90% of his competition (IMO) and I think he deserves a title.

He carelessly lost more than 10 drones to a single dark templar.

This is probably not the thread to ask this but do players have a choice in which proleague matches they participate in? I thought the coaches just made the line-ups.

I would figure that coaches build around the players' schedules, and Best was probably like "Yeah go ahead and put me in, I can play PL first then head over to Gom."

They probably have a say in whether or not they can play in an Ace match.
Best's timings looked really impressive. His style looks a lot like how Nony plays. Those super aggressive reaver pushes are a really exciting timing.
I didn't like Effort's choice of build in game 2. I felt like Best just hit the timing really, really well in game 3.

sKyHigh, along with movie and effort is the new 3 race generation replacing Iris/Much/Savior that will take CJ to the top again.

Or maybe it was like that:
Coach aproaching Best in practice house before making the lineup: "Hey Best, what are you doing?" "I'm going to pracitce for GOM for all week." "Good, just don't forget to practice for PL too." "What?? You are sending me to play in PL? Are you out of your mind??" "Who the hell you think you are talking to? I was willing to send you on first round so you have more time before GOM, but hell no, you are going for the last map!" "BUT - " "Shut up or you are going to sleep without dinner!"
Then the day D came and Best was going against Free. Seriously pissed he decided to lost that game on purpose, just to anger his coach. After that, he was walking away smiling inside, but his coach stoped him shouting:
"Where the hell you think you are going?!" "I have the GO -" "You have nothing! Get your ass back over there and this time better win, or you would be cleaning all our closets instead of Hyuk for a month!"
And that's the story behind the great performance Best displayed against Zero in his weakest match-up...

I suppose I didn't word that correctly. I was trying to mention how I felt he had some good tricks up his sleeve and performed some clever maneuvers. He didn't roll over and die or 1a2a3a all his shit. His choice of build and the DT fiasco was obviously less than stellar. I guess I should have said "I saw some nice tricks in G2. Drones dieing to DTs r bad."

I don't really think medusa is that bad ZvP. It's definantly 1000% better than byzantium. I have no fucking clue why effort went 2-hatch muta :\
I've NEVER EVER seen it work zvp
