Seriously who the fuck do you think you are? I offer my opinion on the matchup with the possibility of being completely fucking wrong and you sit behind your little monitor not making a claim in the world and then pounce on me for fucking up? Sports predictors get things wrong all the time - its a fact of life - so seriously...

EDIT: It's not like im a best fanboy either.. i like best sure, but i also really like stork; so much so that my pvp is modeled off him

While I don't agree with mrhilton, it would be nice if you can comment on why your prediction was so off. Was it a simple matter of Best simply imploding? Not enough credit to Stork's ability to change things up?

Best's supposed invincible PvP didn't even put up as much of a fight as Bisu did.

I think the 4-gate all-in timed build is viable; it has already been used in JangBi vs Chalrenge in last proleague finals (was the final game, so it was an anticlimatic game) and another game before that (which was the original game).

Hmm, the fast speed reaver-suicide build I think is only viable on RotK because of the safe plateau expo but not on medusa because of its openess.

Lastly, the proxy doulbe gate build is excellent; kill as many probes as possible and force your opponent to constantly make zeals then steal the gas!
Stuck.

I think this was a good demonstration of strategy and execution versus macro and mechanics. In my (rather limited) viewing experiences, BeSt is likely the most concretely firm Protoss player in terms of general mechanics and macro play. However, he seems to be rattled unnervingly and inconveniently on big occasions (See: BeSt vs. July OSL finals). His play is superb if left unchecked, so much so that he can overcome BO and early-game deficits if allowed to reach mid-late game macro play, however, if his opposition devotes his time to unsettling BeSt, and pulls it off successfully, then they can force him into making uncharacteristic errors.

This may be a little harsh on BeSt, after all, he hasn't choked systematically by any means, especially last OSL finals up against Luxury and down 2-0, he rallied beautifully to take the series. BeSt should be prepared to be more innovative with his back to the wall, IMO. If he can mind his nerves better, then he could be anything.

And lastly, Stork. For all the shit he cops around here, he is one hell of a player. He never slips on execution, and is able to formulate plans, both simple and complex, which will allow him to overcome his opponent. Make no mistake, even though he isn't quite as good as BeSt, macro wise, his strategic play, harass and reaver control more than make up for it. The tag of perennial choker given to Stork is probably a tad unfair. All his losses in major finals have come against players in the form of their lives. Well, right now, Stork is in the form of his life. All that stands before him, and a place in the pantheon of Protoss gods, is 3-5 rounds of PvT against Boxer, trained by Oov. This is, for mine, the most intriguing OSL final in recent times, even moreso than July shooting for the Golden Mouse. Will Stork be able to hold his nerve, hold off Fantasy, and right previous wrongs? Only time will tell

stork dictated the action. that's the problem best has to fix. lucky breaks happen for those who try, and if you fail, there is no shame.

He asked it politely enough, no need to be such an ass about it. I'm wondering this as well.

Seems like Best gets really shaken by things like 5pool and 4 gate allin, and just fell apart.

The vods are up already, http://www.youtube.com/user/Jon747

Well i like both of the players but ultimatley i was rooting for Best, still i think it happened as I (and many others) predicted, Stork took it home thanks to his greater experience. Overall i think nobody can argue that stork both played better, and choose better builds this day than Best. Also Bests nerves got the better of him in some situation.
Great build by Stork in game 4
Hopefully he steps up to the place in the finals and gets his first deserved Osl win

The gap between these two gamers is so small, even the most infinitesimal advantage can lead to victory. Either one player is going to dominate or the other is going to dominate - depending on the day and the conditions. Stork caught best off guard in game 2 and took the initiative to take more blows at best's frame of mind; you just can't predict these kinds of things. Especially that best completely collapsed in on himself (like he did against july btw). That's pretty much the only reason i can give.

PvP is just that if you are the better player you will win no matter what build is played. BeSt initially was the better player but Stork won the psychological battle and won the next three straight (effectively 3-'ing best)

stork came out with plans and seized the day. it is not a catastrophic defeat for best in terms of his career, just look at stork's own track record. but it makes way for speculation about his character and so forth. but i think he's clearheaded enough to not get caught up.

Well, after being beaten by Stork in the semis in their last series, he went on to go to the finals in the following OSL. And even after getting beaten 3-0 there, he still managed to get this far this time around. BeSt seems to be the type of player that learns alot from his mistakes and continues fighting, so I think he'll do just fine in the future.
What I do think he needs is getting more confident when he's behind. While he did manage to reverse his 0-2 result against lux to 3-2, he seemed alot more nervous when he was behind in score against July and Stork. Seems like he's very confident when he's winning, and a bit less when he's losing. But since he seems to have staying power, I think he'll overcome this with a bit more experience.
1000 at least.
