yes, they are long, but they also went awhile without breaks. On regular tv you get commercials every 10 minutes.

Now that I think about it, Modern underestimated tossgirl on every level...
The first game, he tried to do some Jaedong-esque two hatch pure muta build...that third hatch he built seemed more like an afterthought once he realized he might need to tech further. He fully expected, I think, to be able to finish her off completely with just mutalisks.
The second game...a three hatch before pool build? If he'd planned to use that build prior, he likely wanted to show that he could take down tossgirl not just with some relatively cheesy pure muta build, but with just about the most macro-oriented build you can use in ZvT.
Kinda dick, imo...
Then again, I could just be thinking too much into it.

Ssak goes for a wall-off but lifts his rax right when the probe comes. Probe scouts a bit before rine kills it. Shuttle does 1gate tech into a really fast nexus, once again.

If you remember Namya Iyagi...this is slightly better, as you can apply early pressure as Protoss due to the main entrance being like Plains To Hill's...but still, it sucks.

no new map being used for the first 2 rounds, andro colloseum and if it goes to a third set both players get to veto a map(of andro/collo), if they veto the same map then they play on the other one. if they veto different maps then they flip a coin (or w/e, pick randomly).

I watched those vods. I laughed. Even now on high level iccup players do not do so sad mistakes as both zergs did in TvZ. Making 3 hatchery before pool when terran scouted you first position.... WTF? Can't defence from single 8 rines 2 medics? Darn it... Protosses also looked quite ... stupid. For example Shuttle, about whom i heard only good things, was completely overthinked by terran...

Keep in mind that progamer timings are far superior to good player timings. Ask Daniel Lee about that. Also Ssak played amazing with a perfect executed build on colosseum 2.
I didn't see ToSsGirL's games so I cannot talk about them.

3 hat before pool is a fine opening. its risky, but not horribly so. 8 rine 2 med is not what you worry about with it, you can have sunks and lings up in plenty of time for any acad units (not to mention that no one 2 raxes now anyway), its the rine/scv rush she did thats the real danger.. and with good micro its very possible to hold until sunks/lings are up. and if you hold a rush like that given the fast 3 hatches you have a huge advantage. its essentially the zvt version of 14 nex, its freeloss vs an 8rax/bbs, dangerous vs hard rushes, but worth the risk because of the advantage you get if you pull it off.
mong vs shuttle was more mong's really good play than shuttle's bad play.

It's absolutely stupid to go 3 hatchery when you scouted that your opponent is in closest position and doing barrak 10, while he scouted you from first attempt too and knows your exact BO. 8 rine 2 medics was in other game when after fast expansion Darkelf against i don't remember who on Andromeda, just made such army and killed 1 sunken while 2 others muted.
