I guess if you're nervous you should be allowed a re-game.

If Best 'deserved' to win, he would've won. You're still making excuses.

Uh no, you can deserve something and not get it.

Erm, that is wayyy too vague Agu. In the sense of Only-one-person-can-be-the-winner how do you figure who "deserves" it more? I would think the person who played better, no?

If tomorrow a new award / trophy was announce to be given for a progaming career voted by people on who do you think it would deserve it, Boxer would get it 100% (unless TL voted in which case it would go to ToSsGirL).

Having a strong early game is part of being good at starcraft. What kind of a superior player only wins "no rush 20 minutes" games?

Too nervous in the last game? You must be right, since JulyZerg's perfect counter to corsair+reaver with his well-controlled scourge and mid-game hydra->muta transition was just a fluke.

July is something amazing.

He's been crushed in an OSL Final twice, faltered again 0-3 in an MSL semi-final, and then was defeated painfully by the same guy he beat for a title.

Through this, he suffered terrible proleague records, team switches, turned into a 2v2 player, and his aura against terran was no more.

But with a little luck and experience, he scrambled from the bottom and worked himself up OSL once more.

I love july not simply because he won this series, because unlike savior, he has an extremely strong will, despite failing over and over again through terrible odds, he managed to find the will to keep on fighting.

He deserves this Golden mouse the same reason why Nada did, because he defeated his inner demons and overcame his failures.

That quality alone will make you a champion no matter what road you take.

This is my truth, tell me yours!

You practically did by saying that BeSt is superior when he didn't have the correct mindset. If he was too nervous while July was calm, then July is superior.

July does deserve this mouse. QuietIdiot hit it on the mark in many respects. July is not like Savior who has disappeared from the radar, he's like NaDa because he perseveres and returns despite being an older player with nothing to prove.

The first OSL zerg winner should be the first Zerg Golden Mouse.

Congratulations to July, I've been a fan ever since I first saw his replays surfacing and then 2-1 XellOs(who I think is awesome) and 3-2 oov(lolol oov = sounding board for those games).

Now, the only thing that remains:

NaDa must achieve the platinum mouse first!

Thank you, man. That was beautifully put.

except the part about savior.. i think hes working hard to make a comeback too but maybe he just cannot find the right way or is having terrible luck... i dont think he doesnt care about it at all... one thing's for sure his confidence is like all the way down >_<;

Yeah, I was going to say this but I was too slow :D. Best may be better in Proleague, be more technical, "modern," etc., but nerves matter.

Best's nerves were inferior, and nerves matter in this game. So he lost, that means he didn't deserve to win unless he works on his nerves.

BeSt was too greedy in the first 2 games:
In the first game he wanted to get his nexus before his forge without having scouted the opponent.
In the second game he went straight for tech and only brought 5-6 probes off his mineral line to help defend.

In the third game his offense was weak, I'm not saying July's build wasn't awesome, but BeSt was on defense for almost the entire mid-late game.
Minimal effort.

Uh dunno to make a quick example World cup '06: Portugal vs Netherlands. Games involve luck to some extent, some more some less. I'm not going nitpick little shit like starting positions or stuff like that. I'm just saying that considering this OSL alone, BeSt had a harder run, which he over came, same as July (who still faces rock and backho -_-).

You can of course say that July has come back from a gigantic slump and he deserves it too, but there's no point of comparison with BeSt there since he hasn't been on the scene for as long as July.
