yeah keeping scan banned for stuff almost 20 years ago is silly, he is an important bridge to the koreans
I wonder if your statement has any merit, and if it has, to which extent.
After discussing it with the other sponsors and the SB community council, we've come to the decision to not apply the old gg.net blacklist, as it is from too long a time ago. Therefore only players who are currently barred from participating in other foreign leagues will also be barred from participating in this league.

I think this was the right call. At the very least, in the case of Scan, he has been an active contributor to the forieng scene for so long, even after his ban, and with no similar drama to what happened in the past (at least AFAIK).
Excessive BM or otherwise unsportsmanlike conduct will result in being removed without prior warning.
Unplayable.
😂
PS: As some who went 7/7 center gate on Fish for like 200 games in a row back in the day, and 50 games of Drone rush on Destination on ICCup in a row, I would protest the "stop excessive cheesing" rule from a philosophical standpoint but at the same time, with money involved and player experience being an important factor in attracting new consistent players, I will concede that it makes sense and the system is good for this league and for SB, which is ultimately more important 🙂 GL HF and thank you to the SB team and all donors!

Rather strange rules though.
scan on FBH's channel (pretty large YT channel) telling the koreans about some of the live game overlays westerners developed
he also used to post here a lot explaining new builds/developments in the korean meta
Nice. Respect to the sponsors and guys putting in the hours for all the players. First rollback tournament. You guys should consider opening donations to add to the prizepool and SB development.

Agreed! You never know what could happen. I never expected NYC LAN #1/#2 to get to where they were prizepool-wise but as soon as I made donations public support from many directions, including players, poured in. And it was all through TL PMs!

Concerning the prize pool, I can look into accepting public contributions for a second season of this league. Not sure yet, though. If you want to contribute to BW events, I'd suggest the currently running leagues with prizes such as BSL, IPSL, and SCU. Those are the ones I support monthly myself. Otherwise, if you are specifically interested in supporting a 2nd season of this league, send me a PM on TL.net or DM me on Discord (my username is lml) and I'll contact you for a 2nd season in the new year.

If you want to sponsor your own league on SB, it's really that easy. LML just said "I want to do a league and I'll put in $750" and that was it. We've had a number of people sponsor even minor, short-term leagues in the past, like this one which was just a user saying "I want to do a league and I'll pay $60." Just let us know.
So, I got a long time ASL watcher and sc2 player to join our royal game thanks to this event.
"So I can just download it and go" 10 seconds later "Wait, so I just click play it's that easy?"
So, the worst bm I've faced on the ladder .... is my own reflection when I fail to GG before leaving. I really enjoy playing with this player pool. Even the stronger players who wreck me badly, are kind.
Dewalt is doing the league live right now. And that user sai (no clue who they are) referenced earlier is 19/3 on ladder already.
The guys who played 40 games in a day already, you are the true crafters of old, props.

Just to share, sai is an amateur(?) Korean zerg. Employed by Mong's uni right now.
Finally got me playing my first Shieldbattery match today, at last.
It's funny because I've been practicing Terran as a new race for me since I was always Protoss, but I didn't realise I had to set race preference ahead of time and spawned as Protoss by mistake. And oh MAN it feels good to know what I'm doing after practicing as Terran and feeling like I've got ten thumbs :D
