Valk into Mech actually most successful in online play. Speed was too hesitant in trying to get off valk micro shots when JD switched to targeting the floating CC. If Speed had managed to get of 1-2 more volleys and kept the CC alive he would have won on the first counter push afterwards. He was posturing back and forth with the valks but decided against firing for the entire duration of the cc floating back, most likely because he instead of seeing the win window, saw how to prevent a loss, which was to not lose the valks, but by focusing on that he lost his win window further down the line. The fact he was able to claw his way back and extend the game so much in a lost scenario speaks volumes of how good he is. But one choice cost him.

dunno guys why do u praise Speed so much for what he did after losing the CC... i mean JD played like B tier zerg from that point on

Because generally playing better than the opponent makes them look worse. Speed's multitasking overstrained Jaedong's abiltiy to keep up with it. Speed being too far behind though still gave JD the edge in spite of that.

There is also the important point that JD wasn't much ahead, even after Speed lost the CC. We tend to missunderstand the state of the game in this situation, it's not about Speed god come back, it's not about JD''s trash play. Facts are: There is no hive, trying to build one would cost him the game, and sz or sm are his only options. Not easy by any means

i agree on this, but also would like to point that JD did lose massive amounts of drones, and at least half of them could have been saved, also he did few really bad exchanges where it seemed he was thinking "i dont care im winning anyway"

Yeah JD's positioning of his hydras to try flank Speed was awful. He'd engage from one flank but forget to engage the other so kept drip feeding hydras into the tank meat grinder instead of executing a correct surround. But he was so far ahead in macro he could switch into mutas and Speed had not counter give he was only on 2.5 bases or so.

JD just squeaks it. Happier he made it htan speed for the storylines but dang.
Paralyze looked a bit shocking. Best is well Best. I have literally no expectations. I imagine a mom looking at best and thinking 'I wish Jangbi was the one who stayed'

Really enjoyed the games from this group. Happy for Best and sad for Paralyze but ah well at least JD got out over Speed.
