According to my announcement for Big Plans for BSL in 2024, I would like to invite you for a regular event each Wednesday 20:00 CET. If you are from NorthAm, LatAm or Asia, want to participate and the time is fine for you - you are welcome.
Format:
Event is open to everyone outside Korea
We will meet 19:50 CET #op BSL on Europe server to confirm participation, pick participants & draw teams
Two teams will be formed by random draws each week
Players who are interested in participating should: a) join #op BSL on Europe at 19:50 b) join BSL Discord and type on #Battleground “READY” c) You need to play on your real nickname and use the same on discord
Activity: If we will have more than 10 participants willing to play each week, we will determine the best of them by BSL ELO first weeks and later by BSL18 Ladder Stage standings. If we have 16/20 players willing to play each week, we will have two tier battles.

How will the games go ?
Set 1: BO7 - 4 vs 4 players predetermined, next pairs random (till someone gets 4 points)
Set 2: BO9 KOTH between teams - winner stays (next week we can make loser stays)
Set 3: Super Ace bo1 - random draw

Winner gets 1 point, the loser 0,5 point, in case we will have attendee - 0,2 point. After the tournament is done, the prize pool will be divided with those proportions.

4v4 with two BO7s is better than 5v5. Easier to find 8 players than 10 obviously. And foreigners games tend to last longer than Korean due to the lesser ability to deliver the killing blow via sharp timings, so the events tend to last longer and I'm not sure you can always find 8-10 guys to sit there for 4-5 straight hours.
Obviously the teams have to be balanced beforehand. But even after that you can still have one superior player delivering an all kill in set 2, so you don't have to do KOTH format in set 2 every time. Just do two set proleague 4/7 format like the Korean K-League usually does. It gives more balance to the matchups and everyone gets to contribute.
The super ace also doesn't need to be between 2 random players from each team every time. You can choose between 3 options: most wins vs most wins, most losses vs most losses (I personally like this one lol), or totally random.
As for the question if it's open to everyone or only high ranks. Obviously it's up to the organizers, but imo putting some low level players who are willing to participate, i.e. CPL players, in the lineup for a bit more fun is a possibility. They just have to always be paired together. The Koreans are doing this format as well with the participation of female streamers. In fact this could actually be a good idea as CPL players probably would love to have commentaries from the likes of Bonyth.

You can come no matter your rank. But you risk not getting a spot if better players are also showing up and filling the slots without leaving any open. If more players show up, there will be more simultaneous team battles.

We had problems gathering teams, making this event during a week was too optimistic. We will finish the event after BSL18 during the weekends, to keep the qualify of games high
