Just want to say how much I appreciate all that you do here, enuaj. I don't speak any Korean and it's really difficult to find games and figure out who is playing. Being able to come home and watch amazing games by great players that you've posted here is a real highlight of my days. Thank you so much.

2. off topic: It is crazy how literally the biggest thing money wise in esports (daily proleague and donations) is known only to koreans. Just talked with hasuobs about it and he didnt know proleague was even a thing... or the university system (see how surprised he was when he got the info https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2907784136?t=4h40m50s ) Proleague and K-league consistently get like 15k USD. On /r/starcraft this money would warrant its own megathread every day... (hell they have posts for 50 dollar sc2 tournaments), yet ASL is not even discussed in its own stickies. On tl.net, HSC had a prize pool of 10k but gets its own feature, but so should EVERY proleague day then. Community news are also 99% sc2. Not even a weekly write up about daily proleagues/K-league that some weeks cumulative go over 100k USD... Not even any news about starcraft university where most of the money is nowadays by FAR. The whole BW ecosystem is pushing 100 million USD in donations mostly thanks to the university system, but yet I see the community section spammed every week with a 400 USD tournament writeup. It is a shame how SC2 is still promoted heavily everywhere despite not pulling even close to as many viewers or donations. At this point, broodwar should be ahead of sc2 for the sidebar. edit: don't get me started about the chinese broodwar scene, which is already bigger than the entire global SC2 scene in terms of viewership and money. Yet crickets It's not surprising how Hasuobs literally didn't know how fucking huge broodwar is if the coverage is some obscure megathread buried in the tournament forum of broodwar. Given the huge prize money (don't get me started with 0 coverage on the university system), this is fucked up that it gets no coverage at all

Given the huge prize money (don't get me started with 0 coverage on the university system), this is fucked up that it gets no coverage at all Why would hasuobs, a Warcraft and sc2 player, know about proleague or university in bw? (Miss you hasu btw, always fun in LANs). Having a consolidated thread is way easier here than many threads (i d call that the reddit way in opposition). I love being able to see multiple results and embedded vids at once. A thread a day (or more) would wreck engagement and the site. This thread is literally the top thread in the queue daily. Now i don't care much for the sc2 section but if you have a beef with that, suggest you make a dedicated thread. I d like the option to maybe just hide it, so i d support you there. But I also realise it s not an either/or. I just look at the bw section anyhow, it s been so for 16 years... For reddit, r/starcraft is mostly sc2, r/broodwar is where it s at. But reddit is meh for bw, we reside here and in the (many) discords. I don't know anyone in clan league etc who doesn't know about the daily proleagues... University you have a point, but tbh i have little interest in very young girls streaming an f rank level game. I prefer cpl since at least i know some of the folks. Having some select extract of the uni system where the pros actually give good coaching advice would be great that said, if you are volunteering but otherwise it s too much time i don't have. Now i know there are more tiers, but anything sub S rank should be irrelevant here (outside of coaching sessions). It doesn't matter how much money there is for those levels. You can make your thread (and you did once and it was interesting) but those streams should not be featured imo. Matches between pros/coaches and semi pros now I would totally like to have more info and video links just like this thread For the stream list, liquipedia etc, all good points: be the change you want to see and join the staff

Given the huge prize money (don't get me started with 0 coverage on the university system), this is fucked up that it gets no coverage at all There were a few years where I didn't realize these daily's were happening so, I agree it's a bit strange it's contained to one small megathread. A single news article on the front page here and there summarizing excellent games from time to time would be amazing. And it would help people realize these are occuring... On the other-hand: While there is a lot of money, I have to imagine the stakes over an extended amount of time are low. People get randomized onto teams and therefore I imagine prize payouts to each player (over an extended amount of time) start to become relatively even. I'm glad everyone is getting paid, they deserve to be paid well, but there's not much emotional drama to any given daily PL. The games are high level and enjoyable but there's no narrative to write about, especially when compared to Kespa PL/OSL/MSL (and at this point ASL.) I tried to find everyone's culminative PL payouts to backup this point but couldn't find that data anywhere... so maybe I'm wrong on this? If I am, my apologies. In addition, what real rivalries can exist when you are on the same team more often than not? A game like this https://tl.net/tlpd/korean/games/25418_FanTaSy_vs_Jaedong/main is always going to be way more interesting than a daily PL match because there's narrative... if Fantasy and JD spent every other day on the same team that game on Medusa is just another game. Also, I probably speak for a lot of foreigners when I say I don't care about university girl's leagues at all, no matter how big they are in Korea. There's a language barrier which prevents any of the funny interpersonal things from mattering to non-Korean speakers. Some chick playing SC poorly talking to a pro in a language we can't understand has no meaningful context for non-Korean speakers. Maybe when live translating AI tools are perfected there will be more to enjoy but it's not surprising most foreigners don't care about the university scene.

The games are high level and enjoyable but there's no narrative to write about, especially when compared to Kespa PL/OSL/MSL (and at this point ASL.) Everyone should care about the future of the game. Young players these days are women, and the recent ASL finals got less viewership than the recent K-Jungman finals (which was better than most ASL finals btw): ![]() Read the original post about youth players: https://www.fmkorea.com/10425744044?sort_index=pop&order_type=desc&listStyle=webzine#10425744044_comment
