There are 10 players but this Proleague is the game of only 4 among them really. Light tried to carry his team with 4 wins, but Royal himself had 4 wins as well, and when it mattered most, Snow came out on top, defeating Light in the winners set, and carried his team home.
There's only one K-League today. Tyson came back playing BW after vanishing for a year or so. With his return the Protoss line-up is expected to be... just as weak as it currently is.
Snow had a field day in the K-League. Too bad that without the winners league format, he couldn't do more to help his team. Meanwhile, Effort enjoyed farming in the K-League again, beating Mong in the super ace.
With ASL over, Proleague activities will probably not be as hectic as it had been for the last 4 months. Expect strange line-ups like this to occur more often:

Shuttle finally found some wins in Proleague, and strangely enough, two of them were against the PvP king Mini. However, when it mattered most, he lost to YSC in the super ace. Sigh.

He was farming Barracks (8-2) and Calm (8-3) during that period though. Also had a record of 10-2 against Light as well, although can't call winning against Light farming.
Tbf at this point in time, Snow can just inflate his stats easily by calling out any Terrans to play and win 80% of the times against them.
With the Terrans being so strong recently, the series was closer than it was thought to be, mostly because of Queen who went 4-1 in the two sets. However, he fell short in the super ace to Light - the best player in 2023 Proleague.

I think it's imperative we start with last month Proleague record from the bottom of the table. Because there's something very surprising there.
Yep. At a win rate of 23.5% (although he didn' t play much) is your ASL15 Champion, JYJ. He wasn't that bad in the first three months of 2023, but in April he played mostly Major Proleague and that's probably why he won barely a quarter of his games. So how come the guy just won his first ASL? Was that a fluke or he's the kind of player who only performs offline? This prompted me to do some research about his entire record in 2023.
Apparently in this year, JYJ was: - 0, 14, 29 and 29% against Bisu, Snow, Mini and Best, respectively - 29, 48, 58, 62 and 71% against Soma, Queen, Hero, Jaedong and Soulkey - 17 and 50% against Light and Rush, respectively
So the answer is: kind of both. Basically JYJ just got the run of his dream to that title, where he avoided all the players who are supposed to beat him and got matched with all the players he's capable of beating (and actually beat them).
Back to the table. Second place from the bottom belongs to Shuttle (28.1%). Now this one is neither a surprise, nor does it need any investigation. Shuttle has been the punching bag in Major Proleague for 3-4 months now and the only reason he was hanging there is... he's the organizer most of the times. Finally at the end of April, Shuttle decided to drop down to K-League to stop himself from further embarrassment. We wish him well in the K-League then.
Let's go to the top of the table. Snow at 64.7% still maintains his first position from last month. His form in PvT has been utterly ridiculous. He's at 80% in PvT, 12-3 vs Light and 11-1 vs Royal (all online games) in April. He even pulled off a Scout troll build vs Sharp on ladder. We demand Flash to come back asap to challenge Snow.
Bisu and Rush were bottom 3 in March. Now they're top 3, as predicted. However, Bisu only played a handful of games while Rush padded his stats a bit by playing some K-League. So I feel like it's only fair we give the actual top 3 spot to Light (who is only 0.2% less than Rush anyway). With that established, Light has now been in the top 3 of the Proleague table in every month. So consistent.
Royal finally found his form back and rose his win rate to 57.7%, while Mini showed his inconsistency by dropping his win rate to 50% after two monstrous months.
The Zerg players, once again, mostly hanged around the middle of the table at around 50%. This has been the case for them for a few months now. If we think about this, it kind of fits with the narrative that there are so many good Zerg players now, BUT none of them are particularly dominant (like, top 3 dominant), and that's why we haven't seen a Zerg finalist in ASL since Larva in ASL11.
So, ASL is over now. Expect the players to relax a little bit in the upcoming time.
Thank you TMNT! Indeed, Shuttle belongs to the K league, no offense. I think effort , sSak and sometimes Stork can jump to major league once in a while.

With cup format, sometimes you can have unexpected runs from the underdogs. Look no further than TIME miraculous run at IEM Katowice recently in SC2.
Even more so in ASL where you have the Ro16 group selection, where basically one of the goals is to eliminate the best players by putting several of them into the same group.
Light showed no sight of a drop in form, winning all his games today (6-0) including an all kill in set 2. Then Soma finished the job for team 2 by defeating Best in the super ace.
