EDIT: After watching first game I take that back, Ample's mech play was quite good!

I think he had a very good showing, looked a lot more confident in their first game (and then waited half a century for SK to basically get the entire map). And organ was just manhandled. I think we'll see more of Ample, there's been some serious improvement and his KSL results weren't just a fluke. Tears of joy are shed.

SK is like unarguably the best all-around Zerg right now, it's definitely going to be a weaker race with him gone soon.

Can anyone confirm 100% that there's no way he can get a deferment to finish out the tournament if he's still in it by August 10? Seems that since he said a date that it's a definite thing? SK is like unarguably the best all-around Zerg right now, it's definitely going to be a weaker race with him gone soon. We all hope Soulkey will be actually able to delay his enlistment, he wouldn't be the first to do so(I think he's one of the very few who could stop Flash in this ASL, I am now officially rooting for him). Jaedong seems done and, with Effort and Soulkey gone, Zerg apparently won't have a serious tournament contender(one should hope for Zero to resurrect and/or for Larva to finally become competitive on the greatest stages).

I have faith that Zero will be back to speed by next season. His online play is fantastic, but his performance last KSL was really disappointing and he didn't even make it past the qualifiers for this ASL :\ . Hopefully he just needs a bit more time to get back into the groove of offline tournaments. If not then the top 3 zergs are Larva/Action/MisO and none of those guys are finalist material as of now :\

Let's say they award the Ro.8 spot to number three in SoulKey's group, that means his group will be way easier than the others and everyone will want to get in it. On top of that, if SoulKey wins the group, there's going to be a "decider" match with nothing at stake. The most fair way to handle it would be to have a mini tournament between the four losers of the Ro.16 decider matches, but that would require them to set up an extra night of games, and possibly at very short notice, which would be a logistical nightmare. They could also just draw lots but that's never a good option in a tournament.

I remember when they had to replace Sea on very short notice. Killer lost to Sea in the qualifiers and took Sea's place. Went on to Ro8! [ASL S4] BTW, put me down for Soulkey leaving exactly when he said he would, regardless of his state in the tournament.
