eSport.fund offers you an impossible ladder challenge v.2.
GOAL: 11-0 Kor ladder (eleven consecutive victories) @ 2,200+ mmr, vs S ranks only. BOUNTY: $1,000-
DEADLINE: Until the end of the current ladder season.
Subjectivities: - You should use a Korean IP (VPN/Mudfish) and challenge Koreans, except in odd matches with foreigners beyond your control. - You should be at 2,200+ MMR. - Your opponent should be ‘S’ rank (career max, any season). - You should be a citizen of any country except Korea (dual citizenship counts as if you are just Korean). - All your efforts should be streamed with a webcam. - All your streams should be recorded on a streaming platform. - Only two consecutive games with a single opponent allowed. - Take a brief timeout to avoid re-game with the same opponent. - Your opponent leaving within the first 2 minutes will be considered a draw. - You may ask your opponent to leave within the first 2 minutes (in case of unplayable lag for example). - Your opponent leaving is considered a draw; you leaving is a loss. - Begging your opponent to leave after the first 2 minutes is considered as abuse.
For all other issues refer to Battle.net result: - Refer to Battle.net result in case of Disconnect issue. Battle.net loss is a loss (and a combo breaker in your sequence). Battle.net win is a win. - Draw is a draw. No sequence breaker. No win count.
THIS SECTION IS OBSOLETE AND FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSE ONLY Previous challenge version: Subjectivities: - You should use Korean IP (Vpn/Mudfish) and challenge Koreans, except odd matches with foreigners beyond your control. - You should be 2,200+ MMR. - You should be a citizen of any country except Korea (dual citizenship counts as if you are just Korean). - All your efforts should be streamed with a webcam. - All your streams should be recorded with a streaming platform. - Only two consecutive games with a single opponent allowed. Take a brief timeout to avoid re-game with the same opponent. - Begging your opponent to leave is an abuse. All your efforts will be forfeited.
Notes: - Refer to Battle.net result in case of Disconnect issue. Battle.net loss is a loss (and a combo breaker in your sequence). Battle.net win is a win. - Draw is a draw. No sequence breaker. No win count.
Wow. This is a cool idea, even if it will be very tough for anyone to do. Pretty damn good incentive for it, since it doubles as practice that people are already doing.

I think you got it pretty straight, that challenge idea is to compete with Koreans. It's not easy to play European opponent with a Korean IP. But if you otherwise exasperate possibilities playing European opponents with Korean IP, this is an abuse.

As I've seen, when two people with VPNs play each other, it lags tremendously (unplayable level). Could just be my experience, but I think the same also happens with Eon and some others too.
Can you clarify one thing: I start with 2200+ MMR account, if I get faced with B-A rank opponents 11 times in a row and win all of them, I win 1000$?
I'm asking, because last time I played with VPN, this happened a lot especially when you play outside of Korea hours, for example late EU time. Pretty sure I already done this challenge many times if that's the case.

You need to opt for Korean opponents.
I think he is saying what happens if, by chance, ladder matches him 11 times with KR players ranked B or A because that's the only matches it finds or something similar.
Can a rule be added that you can leave the third rematch without breaking your sequence? Even if you wait, matchmaking is randomized and is something you cannot control. (The possibility is still there that you get matched a third time) And also since the events must be streamed, there is also a chance some koreans would try to snipe. Would get rid of a lot of frustration.

Case by case discussable. Allowing this will be a worse solution and should not be accepted due to how the Battle.net ladder system works. The "impossibility" of the challenge is in a streak itself.
Thought it would be fun to have a poll. Maybe put it in the OP? or make it it a Liquibet xD. I took the names I saw from the thread so far of people who seem to be participating. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Is Kim Lee Shin some meme that I'm out of the loop in?
WhenEon went his 8/11 streak, some random ladder Korean asked him whether he's some pro. Eon could not remember any pro name and randomized "Kim Lee Shin", Korean's reply was like: "Shit, I don't even remember that, looks like some very oldschool" :D

Yes 3:0 is hard. The whole 11:0 streak will spawn Flash/Larva/Rain level pros at least twice, making the challenge "impossible". Well, in fact it is extremely hard even to pros themselves.

Is camera really necessary for this? I tried couple games today with vpn streaming and many people complain about lag and it even cut my stream off all of sudden and did not resume... :/ If I remember correctly it worked decently if I take camera/alerts etc off from OBS.

We use camera for a certain degree of cheat control. And viewers like the number and quality of stance streams.

Okay, so I'll try taking all off and leave camera on then. What about if same happens again, it cuts my stream off without even telling me about it (it said all the time its streaming in OBS) - Never lost a connection due to OBS. I just saw the end of my last stream and it had cut down games, I got 3-0 and then lost one again, these games do not show on stream for some reason.
I can't help but wonder if that's not an ingenious way of trolling again. If it is, it really is amazing, I will for sure never place a bet against any of your things, ever. How big do you think the chances of success are? 5%? :D
Anyway, great initiative as always.
Maybe you could allow for contestants to upload VODs instead of streaming to solve issues like the one Arcneon has (on a case by case basis). It'd be a shame some of the better players would be disqualified for lag issues. After all, having a semi workable ping to Koreans sometimes is hard, no matter what you do.
I tried couple games again with others off but leaving camera on - Insane lag in games and apparently stream also. So I guess at least for me this really is Impossible challenge with lag issues, I wish GL to all who it works for ! Gonna try again still later if would work any better.

I feel kind of uncomfortable having a camera on while streaming as introvert person, but this made me buy a camera. So I bought it, will set it up most likely during today which is also a nice thing for the stream!

If anything just getting more BW streamers to use a cam and Mic is better for the community in general. More people are likely to continue watching if you interact with your viewers guys! <3

Yup, the amount of streams and activity lately has been really nice. Always a stream to watch, whether anyone accomplishes it or not, it's still a positive result, in my opinion.

Try to check the stream after every game, and restart steam. Restarting is legal even if u make 7:0, go to bed, continue your way to 11:0 the next day.
Ive never went pass 6 wins in a row got it twice. Shit is hard. I think that by this day it looks like this: Kim Lee Shin - 8 wins Trutacz - 7 wins Bonyth - 6 wins (might be wrong) Dewalt - 6 wins Arew - 6 wins Dandy - ?? (I know that Dandy is also playing this)

Hey don’t give up hope, that is pretty good. You probably have to just be fully relaxed and not be nervous to win more innyour streak.

Yea statistically have to go no one. Even assuming a 65% WR chance against opponent, the odds of success are 1 in 100. At equal skill, the odds drop to 0.04%.

Much, much better odds than the lottery though
Well my vote went more to "who do you think has the best chance of winning"/"who do you hope will win" included the No One option at the last second, kinda regret it. intention was more to show who you were rooting for =/ ah well
Dewalt was the first foreigner to claim the bounty. Due diligence is in progress, and meanwhile the Challenge is temporarily closed. You may keep playing, but in case you are the second one, you accept the risk if getting no bounty at all.
Awesome job by Dewalt. However, having now watched both Eon’a 8-0 streak Dewalt’s 11-0 streak, I think Eon did a better job. He had tougher matches for sure.
um kinda strange iff people leave a game? (duo to lag i guess?) that the game counts as a win i mean that is BLIZZARD logic not mine there is a reason when u leave a game early its shows up as draw
On March 21 2019 06:33 M3t4PhYzX wrote: what about that one dude with 0/1 stats and these games where the dude left super early? Do they still count?
Guy left first few seconds is 100% legitimate. The one against 0:1 guy may be legit, but very odd and has to be carefully reviewed.
It is, huh..
Nasty.
Another option to forfeit Dewalt's prize based on the grounds you refer to is total pizdec.
Nah, it would actually make sense not to count them. These were not even "games" if the dude left couple of seconds into it..
I was really pumped to see someone actually go legit 11-0 but idk if people leaving couple of seconds into the game is a legit way to score 11-0.. They left because the connection was terrible, not because they were frightened of Dewalt's might (like some armies do in HOMM3 for example :3).
Everyone had same terms and conditions, thus - fair. However, your help to find an objective evidence of a fraud will be met with many thanks 👍 Converting a single opponent into "they left" is very subjective to the contrary.
Yeah, this is really no place to split hairs. As long as everyone has the same opportunity, and they don't go out of their way to show unsportsmanlike behaviour, it's fair and square.
Dewalt made an amazing achievement here. Congrats!
I'm not saying anybody is cheating.. All I'm saying is that I'm not sure if a guy leaving the game after couple of seconds should count as a legit game/win, tbh.. That's all.
Well, if he had 6 games where all opponents left, then I would agree -- you'd be getting too many "Free wins." But, this is just 1 game out of the 11, where it's natural. Any time you go in a ladder session with VPN, you'll have a few games where koreans leave. So if anything, Dewalt only having 1 out of the 11 is actually a very good ratio. It's a natural course of playing with koreans who hate lag.
Also, in my opinion, what's the point in being negative - it's like you're trying to bring stuff up so he gets disqualified? Be happy for the man. He did it. Let's just try and get him the $$$. Let Rus_Brain do his checks. You're being like the kid in a school class that reminds the teacher "Wasn't there homework due today?" ...
These who just read stuff and never replies, please leave some positive posts, otherwise this happy and cool event is going to look depressing and ugly
Good job Dewalt! I think you are the one who deserved the most to get lucky 11 times :D

It was awesome, a really creative idea, we need more of this!
Also congrats to Dewalt for a nice win, I personally don't think a single guy quitting early matters much.
BTW for future reference I thought of a way that someone could cheat here. Perhaps 4-5 friends saw that the challenge was almost impossible but they were all 2200ish, they could all get on a vpn and donate wins to their best player and then split the cash. I'm not suggesting this happened at all, just something to keep in mind if some of the wins look suspicious (I didn't watch Dewalt's games so I wouldn't know).
Yeah that is possible but someone of Dewalt’s league of player is not going to risk losing his reputation in a game he cares so much about. It is unlikely. I’m sure the organizers would already have noticed it.

I will that im happy that Dewalt got it. I dont know about the matches he played, but after the Italian esports open scam, i would totally think his continued dedication to the game deserved this reward.
Guys, I accept that I was very lucky doing this challenge. I had three free slots (opponents left within the first minute), one qualifier for which I got zero (!) points, one B-ranker, two A-rankers and only four "real challenge" games (one pvt game so close to death).
I have decided to approach RB with an offer to renew the challenge. I am offering to donate $500 out of my bounty and ask RB to add an extra $500.
I offer my help to endorse the rules as follows:
Subjectivities: You should use a Korean IP (VPN/Mudfish) and challenge Koreans, except in odd matches with foreigners beyond your control. You should be at 2,200+ MMR. ENDORSED: Your opponent should be ‘S’ rank (career max, any season). You should be a citizen of any country except Korea (dual citizenship counts as if you are just Korean). All your efforts should be streamed with a webcam. All your streams should be recorded on a streaming platform. Only two consecutive games with a single opponent allowed. Take a brief timeout to avoid re-game with the same opponent. ENDORSED: Your opponent leaving within the first 2 minutes will be considered a draw. ENDORSED: You may ask your opponent to leave within the first 2 minutes (in case of unplayable lag for example). Your opponent leaving is considered a draw; you leaving is a loss. Begging your opponent to leave later on is considered as abuse.
Now I believe THIS challenge is truly impossible. But I'm going to take it as well 😄

So your modification is basically that only wins vs S rank (any season) count towards the 11 game win streak? I understood that right?

Knew this would happen, I asked about it on first page of this thread already Only way to ensure you're getting similar high ranks/higher ranks is playing active Korea hours. Otherwise matchmaker WILL often get you lower rank games when high rank players aren't playing.
Really cool challenge nevertheless and very nice to see it continuing!

we all know this rus_brain i was saying when u leave the game under 2min it alt q -- leave game DRAW showsup at your screen with all the stats.
It doesn't work that way anymore. Bnet will likely show you have lost, if you've left the game within one second. But if you are lucky, and this will be a draw - fine then. Refer to the rules: "Bnet draw is a draw".
nope.i won 13 games but win # 1 was vs A rank player. he was high A and even went 7 wins after lossing to me so he eventually made S rank but the moment i played him he was A rank. second win was a guy that left the game in the first seconds. and win #11 was vs A rank again. it leaves me with a total of only 10 valid wins with the new rules of the challenge. luck is very interesting sometimes isnt it ?
I would consider the challenge completed as the tricky issue with player 1 was not precisely incorporated to the rulebook, and every questionable situation should favor the participant:
- Your opponent should be ‘S’ rank (career max, any season).
Eon's opponent is S rank, "career max, any season".

Excellent job by EnonZerg to win this challenge. I'm glad he won it after all the hard work. He's been hard at work on stream in Korea and it's great to see him win this challenge. Respect on Dewalt on being a great sport during this as well.
