Once again Best fumbles out in bizarre manner. The mine was bad luck, but compared online he seemed shaky.

That's an understatement. Compare this to going neck-to-neck with Flash in Bo3s.

But it is a testament to how holding your emotions in check is a skill in competitive broodwar.

Seriously, I'm not going to hope BeSt makes it far next season. It's such wasted emotional energy.
Banned for saying "zerg players are by far the biggest whiners in sc2 history" despite the fact that this forum is full of such posts about Terrans. Foreigner Elitists in control!

Mini is possibly the biggest example of this, yeah.

That was a fun day, things that were interesting:

1) Not a single comment on game 1. Granted, Sharp had a BO advantage, but the way he dismantled Mind was... humiliating. Nobody bats an eye. Like, Sharp beat Mind again, in other news water is wet.

2) Modesty tried to play a macro game against Best. I was really surprised he had nothing too special in store for him, seeing as how he has not streamed in quite a while.

3) Sharp's vessel use was just fantastic; yea, Best did clump his four arbiters and that was a mistake, but you gotta give it to Sharp for making the most out of his spellcasters, not just the EMPs, but the dmatrixes too. He's such a great tactical player.

4) Modesty lost to Mind in a way that I thought not possible in the Ro16.

5) THAT MINE KILLED FOURTEEN DAMN PROBES

6) SEE 5)

Mind beating Best on Block Chain was a big upset. I hope Larva qualifies first from group D.

Still less embarassing than putting the hatch down instead of the pool after scouting a proxy earlier this week.

Um, Sharp is a Top 3 Terran, a great mechanical player with his nice aggressive timings and all but calling him "such a great tactical player" is well...about as dumbfounding as that Soulkey game earlier this week.

That was such a choke by Best, he's much better than this. Been watching Flash's stream and the level of play is so different compared to this.

I think Sharp is foremost tactical player, who prays on his opponents mistakes. His macro is still subpar compared to many other terran but he has improved a lot and seems to be very tricky TvP player. TvT has always been his strongest matchup (correct if I am mistakes, at least post-Kespa)

The way Sharp handled the match v Best was a great display of tactical prowess, I think. All the way from pressuring the natural after the recall to the smart use of dropship play to the way he has set himself up to win by outspelling the protoss in the late game, it was pure wit and strategic decisionmaking that allowed him to win. And I think, that on the contrary of calling him a great tactical player being a mistake, it is what sets him apart (even if not above per se) from other Ts currently vying for a 2nd place behind Flash.

He has proved it in both Moo Proleague's, in many KCM runs and also in KSL as well as ASL -- most recent example would be his play-off match that got him the seed for example.

I'm very much going to continue to root for him and I'm glad I can say that it is not just because he is a Samsung Khan player.

Also, today's cast was great, I enjoyed it a ton, one of the best days of ASL I can remember watching in a while. I would recommend all but the loser's match.
