Sorry in case it was already mentioned here, but where can I watch a replay of the game? Usually sc2links offers the VODs but it seems they didn't update the page since the quarterfinals?

https://www.sc2links.com/tournament/?match=533

Thanks in advance.

No worries, small vod thread is always your friend: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-tournaments/402419-small-vod-thread-20?page=76#1504

Transistor feels somewhat frightening. A push towards the zerg 4th below the ramps, in a big macro 3h spire/5-6h hydra style, is very potent. The top of those ramps is a storm magnet and hydras tend to clump there. Unless zerg has solid control over the middle of the map, reinforcements come down that route. In the shuttle vs effort game, as well as rain Vs hero, we saw many instances of fights being lost there or at least zerg trading much less favourably than they would have otherwise. It's a great position for protoss. And am I the only one feeling that hero needed defilers MUCH earlier in that game? I'm by no means a Z expert, but I saw flocks of mutas and hordes of lings that were pretty much ineffectual. Not that many lurkers and definitely not enough defiler spells. Is it because of the map? Why did hero opt for such a strategy? Is it just his style?

Ugh all PvP from now on... so boring.

Sincere there, PvP on BW is no where near awful to watch as PvP SC2 and Brood War ZvZ, i simply can't enjoy them.

BW TvT also deserves special mention if both players are turtling, the sound of Arclite Shock cannons grind your ears if it goes long.

I agree that sc2 PvP is more boring, but bw PvP is hardly much better than bw ZvZ imo
but i have to disagree with TvT being boring. imo Korean TvTs are very often very exciting to watch.

The only problem for me to watch is that they keep old audio setting from the OSL days were the game is loud as hell in comparison to a SC2 cast and the Siege Tank fire keep spiking and spiking your headset.

Also the kinda bummer part of the nature of the match-up anything that comes out of the barracks is useless and koreans abandoned Ghosts for understandable reasons but yeah.

It is fascinating how different our experiences can be, I thought it was great.

Even the last game on Sparkle was OK, Rains reaver control was bonkers vs the hydras. I felt like Hero could've done a much better job with controlling his hydras there though...

It’s a shame Sparkle is so rubbish for PvZ because it has produced some cool games in the other matchups.

I don’t mind them using a semi island map but they can’t use two. It’s too big a hurdle for T and Z to get over and skews it too far towards a Protoss winning.

Yeah, I think TvP and the mirror matchups are really interesting to see on Sparkle. TvZ and PvZ just don't work though, but I would love to see some more tweaking with the concept and see what kind of games we get.

I would love to see a more regular season play out over a longer period of time, and then the current ASL format being the play offs.
Having 7 maps or so in the map pool over a longer season, then keeping 4 maps for the play offs.

Having all 4 maps being non-standard this season felt a bit messy. Still exciting and enjoyable for me though!

Also why the fuck are all of you so down on this Rain win? All of a sudden a player who has an amazing personality, very entertaining play style, extremely talented and amazing story comes into ASL and all you just whine about balance and maps and PvPs

This is my biggest problem with the maps, they steal so much focus from the players.
There have been some great games and it has been really exciting to see how people adapt and what strategies they go for etc.
Some has handled it a lot better than others.

I see a lot of negativity in these threads lately regarding how ppl percieved latest series of ASL, for me the games (not all ofc but many) are incredibly good, I more and more see everyday how out of control these guys are. I saw many games full of true genius, and many of them due to new and crazy maps, where regularly non-viable and unexpected strategy just happened:
Today we had a few, first game on transistor showed some hardcore protoss vs z managment example, Rains knew exactly when to rescind micro for the sake of macro, in fact the macro and reinforcement skills of the guy are something to watch plus his planning and mind games that won 100% of set 2 starting with a proxy gate that shaked Hero's world, such smart fella.
Another examples of how out of this world some games were are Snow 2 Robo vs Stork on Transistor wich allowed him that beautiful elevator drop and combat, Shuttle pvz on Third world also spectacular imo. and the most mind blowing Flash decition's making and execution to defend vs the fastest DT drop possible on sparkle the other day; go and pause the game the moment the shuttle appears in Flash's sight and drop the 1st dt right there, understand the situation (1 dt, 1 shuttle with possibly 1 or 2 more dt, no turrets, 1 scan, 3 marines) and the context, try to get inside Flash's head and watch the decitions he made that led to him to defend and then win the game, no other player can stand near God, no human could win that set from there. Ppl are not satisfied with the quality of the games? get out of here....
Maybe I'm beeing overoptimistic and ASL is creating some state of patological joy in me when watching it but I see many amazing things and find hard to connect with the discontent of some.
I think Snow will go to finals and I think games will be good at least, PvP can deliver some action packed fights. Congrats to Rain, he was brillant today.

I agree! Man, I still can't believe that its 2018 and I am watching high quality world class Broodwar games in HD with english commentators in my livingroom on my 65" TV.
I am just so damn happy about it!
I never thought this was going to happen again when the KESPA era ended.
