Yeah what the fuck JD.
He really needs to do military service for a bit, and hopefully he'll recover a bit because of it.

However if there is general feeling that terran is op, afreeca should change the maps. Not reacting to percieved imbalance has proven quite detrimental in sc2. Worst case they can double back after a season. It's not childish at all, if you work hard for something you want to be rewarded no matter what you do. If the only reward is getting shitted on in the internet I can totally understand why he doesn't have the desire to compete anymore. Flash is still human even if it's hard to believe

just checked some pages back, flash wins tight series and gets spammed with terran op? like wtf, are those guys brain dead?

it annoying me to no end, that these guys do so fucking much and get trolled constantly.

They really need better ergonomic setups when they play, but in both of their cases it's probably way too late for that. The surgeries for carpal tunnel don't actually solve any problems, especially if they don't correct the behavior or posture that is causing the nerve to get inflamed.
|
Is carpal tunnel surgery a "for now until it gets worse again" sort of thing?

the series was so awesome and reading the fucking terran op thingy completely killed my mood and wants me to fly to korea, bitch slap all those idiots and then explain them how this game works, jesus im so pissed now.

I have no idea in what proportion it applies to him specifically, but considering that he makes a lot of money on afreeca and has a lot of viewers regulalry i would assume that it's pretty minor in comparison Ofc it's easy for us as random TL posters to say that he should just ignore it, but at the end of the day there are really worse positions than his (which doesn't mean that trolls/ hateful comments aren't a problem, but everybody has unique problems)

Since a lot of players reveal things about pro days on their stream a lot you get to hear how ridiculous some teams were. Some teams forced Zergs to play 60 games a day bc ZvZs are shorter. Larva said he played 60 games a day (by choice) few times and he said that you don't even have time to shit.

Pretty sure no amount of posture or ergonomics is going to fix 300+ apm for 20 minutes. BW pro's are having carpal tunnel issues because they are performing beyond what the human body is designed to do.

It's pretty much the only option you have if the pain/numbness becomes unmanageable. The surgery will reduce the pain, but if you don't correct the cause, it's just a small respite before the next time.

Ah Bakuryu <3 Also, game 4 reminded me of a forign league game, maybe by a LRM) player, who went for 2 or 3 hatch hydra bust vs terran on Tau Cross. Long time ago, but maybe you remember ? Great serie imo. I'm a Flash fan, so I won't insist on his wins, but even as a zerg player, I had something to admire in game 1, a clear case of smart counterstrat very well executed. Lee Young Ho fell right into it.

I 'm really curious and wonder if playing on mechanical keyboard is less tiring than on membrane? AFAIK they still stick with Qsenn DT-35 because it's what they used back in progaming days and it's ideal for BW. In other hand both Flash and JD used mechanical (pretty sure both used Razer Blackwidow but Flash preferred blue and JD red switches) in their SC2 progaming time, maybe just because they were sponsored by Razer? Why they switched back to membrane?

You're completely right, the human body is not really meant to do what these guys do, but if they had more ergonomic setups, it might have reduced the amount of damage they did to themselves.
Edit: As an example, a lot of CTS (in the workplace at least) is because people rest their wrists on the desk while they work, and the range of motion is all using their wrist -- the arms don't really move that much, and when they do it's still resting so it's putting pressure on the nerve, and will eventually cause inflammation that leads to CTS. If they could use a setup where the keyboard/mouse is lower so that they are not resting on the wrists and are "hovering" over them instead, it will not cause the nerve to inflame nearly as much.

well atleast we got to 73 pages, go us!!!

A lot of gamers got surgeries post kespa.

Wow. What a match. Wish JD could've pulled that last game out though. Great watch either way.

Playing that much is most likely counter productive anyway. You need your rest. The StarCraft community has this weird thing that more practise is always better but playing through the night or playing 60 games a day probably isn't better. Diminishing returns exist.
