If anything todays result fuels hotbids nonsensical argument that effort is as good as the big 4. I bet hb is smug as fuck right now

who are the big 4?

bisu stork jaedong flash

Stork? there were more acomplished players than him no?

Take a good look at Stork's body of work pls.

Also Storks record against Flash is pretty much 50/50, while he has winning records against both Jaedong and Bisu and thats over like 30 games playing against each one of them

Good games Effort completelly outplayed Bisu who was very bad with his micro today. Game 4 with 4 on 4 bases, Bisu walking around needleslly with his army without doing anything but bleed units, instead of harassing zerg mineral lines or something like that to stop zerg unit growth - the choke is real.

I think we've discovered Bisu is like the fictional character Samson, apart from his power is in his Eyebrows.

Bisu - PvZ is his worst matchup

Funny how things change. PvZ was once his strongest match up. Although I think that it is still on par with the rest of his match ups. It's just that we have no noticable protoss beside him and all the terrans are either mediocre or slumping (and mediocre because of that). Zerg is the only race with multiple strong contenders.

I think Bisu age starting to tell its word, he isnt the same multitasking machine that he used to be, and with zerg being the more mobile race he cant keep up anymore against top players.

Sad that Bisu couldn't make it. Effort played way better this series.

Not that you're wrong, but to be fair, if he is "pretty much 50/50" against Flash, then he is also "pretty much 50/50" against JD. It's a winning record, sure, but still nearly 50/50. I say this because, interestingly, he seems to have played the exact same number of games against both:
vs. Flash: 13 - 14;
vs. Jaedong: 14 - 13.

Not that this diminishes Stork's achievements in any way. In fact, quite the opposite. Appears to be (nearly) dead even with Flash and JD and a positive record vs. Bisu.

I miss that era sometimes.

Yo I wanted to hype stork. Otherwise I wouldve said he has a losing record against falsh, pretty much even with jd and positive against bisu but losing the most important match vs him

I am not going to say what i think, because i was already warned ... but Bisu played really well IMHO. In game one he couldn't make more, same in game 4 where you can only count 2 "bad" mistakes (losing 2 shuttles in late game, when he had to control 200/200 army). But i tell you one thing ... it's not Bisu getting old, not Bisu unshaped ... and it's not even Effort who certainly played a great series ... SC2 PvZ it's like stealing candies from children compared to SC-BW.

The most disconcerting thing are these children with candles. Why are the parents letting kids have candles and who would want to steal them?

Effort came along a few years later than Stork/Bisu/JD/Flash but I think there was a period of time (2009?) when he was as good as the big 4. He just didn't perform well enough over a long time period to be recognized as one the greats. Regarding Stork, I think TL gives him a harder time than he deserves because of all the silver/choke artist jokes. He happened to be on the receiving end of the other big 4's up-and-coming but IMO he was the most consistently strong player over time.
