let' take a step back everybody, take a deep breath and evaluate the current Situation before we make a judgement on the issues at hand! Back before the Starcraft 2 Beta started Broodwar was in a different place. We had a ton more users and naturally a ton more good foreigners. Heck we had so many players, Germany for instance ( i don't know enough about other countries) did have two national teams. But obviously, things are quite different today. An erosion of our player base and a decline in fan sites that focus on national scenes or scenes connected by culture and language has led to us to a different situation in all Nationwars since the Beta. For the most case, countries were not able to present a roster of their own- merged teams are the result. Now: for this event, a couple of countries seem to be able to field teams of their own, which is a good thing. Germany for instance has a couple of players, who don't participate in big tournaments but this one. That is probably true for a lot of the other teams too. And that's a good thing. It brings back activity to players who are not interested or active to compete at top tournaments. By having a nationwar that focuses on the countries, we include a lot of players, that wouldn't play otherwise. Plus fans love Nationwars and rooting for their team. See this event more as a fun event and worry less about your chance to win. For me personally, the success is that we are able to field a german team. I don't care too much about winning or loosing. Play in this event with pride, be happy to have your National team, even if it isn't the strongest and don't worry to much about the merged teams. @ the Organisation: despite my attempt for an inspirational speech, i think you need to set clear rules which teams can merge how to avoid further irritation among players and team captains (; | ||

Other than that I've contacted everyone I had info for (skype or TL ID). g5, Jumper, Michael, Game, Plus have all been contacted, so yeah, it's not like I haven't tried to get good players... Either they are busy? or not interested? (though there's still some chance of some of those playing - Contact me!) As for Flip, dtking I don't have any contact info for them. The nation wars event will take place on iccup, all currently banned players may send a request to Iccup.face to have the ban lifted, if said request fails, that player may play his games on fish. In the event that someone is banned from iccup while the league is ongoing, the player will be disciplined as stated in the event rules for a bm violation, this player may be banned for one or more nation wars depending on the severity of the offence. Upon the player's return, they may play their games on fish. | ||
